I added a smallish, branched boxwood cutting , to a small planter in the house during winter, just to add some interest to a boring looking houseplant. To my surprise, it didn't dry out, which I expected - it rooted. So, I agree these are very forgiving and easy to grow. I didn't even strip any leaves from my cutting, and it had brown wood on it.

-MEJOR-QUE- NOSTRADAMUS- you don’t know anything. This does work but if you are in a dry area you have to keep the cutting humid like under a jar or in a plastic bag or greenhouse. I’ve got pots on the ground with a plastic drop cloth over top loosely secured to ground. I mist the cuttings a few times a day with a spray bottle and water the ground beneath a few times a week. They need attention everyday in our dry California summer. Winter is easier.
