- Today's workout is a shorter 20 minute abs workout. It's all cardio but the exercises are focused working and toning the abs. We'll start with a 5 minute warm-up then switch to 45 second intervals for abs and finish the last 15 seconds of each round with a walk. At the 16 minute mark we'll switch back to 30 second intervals for our cool-down. We'll finish off the workout with some simple stretches. The total step count for this workout is 2368 steps.
Congratulations on finishing the 7 days in our 3rd series!!! Ideally, complete the workout for 4 weeks before advancing to more challenging intervals. Over the next few months, I will add new interval training workouts to bump up the challenge again so you see results.

What more could we ask for … Cardio and abs combined in a way that is both enjoyable and effective. You have carved out something that is missing on you tube because you respect the need for your subscribers to be challenged without wearing out the body. Love the high arms and pull downs ❤
Thank you for your very meaningful comment & feedback, Robyn. I definitely appreciate that you took the time to give your feedback.💖
Series 3, Week 1 done and I'm looking forward to Week 2. Thanks, Jules!
All 12 weeks completed. I'll be seeing you for intervals and other wonderful sessions and, now the weather is great, some hikes along our Colorado trails. Thanks to you, Jules for your motivation and guidance. Much love, Mary
Thanks for your lovely message, Mary. Hiking along the Colorado trails sounds wonderful! I haven't made it to Colorado, yet, but did just book myself a short trip to California for this fall.
I was particularly stressed today and this workout did the trick! Working out is indeed a magic pill for improving health. Thanks!
You are so bang-on about exercise releasing stress. It's amazing how exercise can change our moods and our whole perspective in such a short period of time.
I did it again by completing 4 weeks. I have gone down one size! So proud of myself and thankful for these fantastic videos, Jules! 😊💛
Congratulations Missy!!! That’s awesome! I plan to create two new interval workouts soon which will give you a new challenge and keep things fresh. In the meantime to continue seeing results, try to stick with a similar plan. For example, choose two interval workouts a week, two strength training workouts per week, one longer workout (45-60 min) and you choose what to do the other days. I hope that helps. I have some newer dance workouts so this will give you a chance to try some other workouts.
Jules, I sure will. What I love most about your program is you give a full body workout. You also have taught me how to tighten my triceps in a way that I never knew. At 62, I have finally found a doable, challenging and fun workout. I’ve never been more excited about working out every day with you. I have even shared your channel on WW! Thank you so much!!!💛
A huge smile on my face here! I am ecstatic that you now look forward to working out. Thank you for letting me know. I put out a new strength workout this past week (combined seated and standing). If you can, try to do that workout twice a week for strength. In the end, though, do whatever workouts that you ENJOY. That’s what will keep you going:)
You deserve to smile! I will definitely take all your advise. I was a bit bad not doing the stretching day and the less time days. I try to close my 3 rings on my Apple Watch. So 30 minutes is the minimum workout. So you know, I do stretch after each workout. I know how important it is. I have seen results from it. When I worked out before, I’d have hip pain. Not anymore since working out & stretching with you! Keep up these videos. You are the best!!!
Well Jules, all 3 series are done, I just can't believe how fast the time went, since my wellness checkup I have lost another 5 lbs. I am so grateful to you for all the encouragement you gave to me through all of the workouts from the very beginning. I am going to continue to do at least 2 Interval w/o's 1 long w/o and some of the fun w/o's in between. Of course I will be doing Abs, stretching and that wonderful 3 min breathing exercise. I still want to keep in touch and let you know my progress. I hope you are having an awesome weekend....take care and God Bless.....Anne
Congratulations on your continuous improvements, Anne! Your consistency with working out is definitely impressive. I look forward to hearing from you when you have time to let me know your future progress:)
Week 2 has been so much better. No achy quads. I loved this workout so much. I think this program 3 is awesome. So much variety. So happy I found your videos.
Aww, thank you once again. It's so true...sore quads is very normal when we first start working out but then the body gets used to it. I'm glad to read you have reached the point where you aren't having the achy quads.
Finally got back to this one today. I had forgotten what a good workout got packed into 20 minutes! Thanks, Jules!!!
You’re our hero!!!
You are very sweet...you put a smile on my face:)
Didn't do the series (yet!) but this one popped up and I figured "why not?" Thank you from the zipper of my jeans!!!! The last song was awesome -- well chosen.
Lol, thanks Chris.❤️
Yes. Finished all three series. Looking forward to other videos you have. Thank you!
Congrats on finishing the 3 series! I hope you enjoy trying out some of the other ones now:)
I’m from the UK I’m 73 young I have just finished the 7 day interval training Week 1 🤗🤗🤗& I have really enjoyed the exercises
Amazing Pamela! I was out hiking today and there were so many seniors in their 70's that were doing the hike as well. I wish all people in their 70's would understand the importance of exercise. Congrats for taking such good care of your health. This is a challenging series, and you did it:)
Hey Jules....looking below at the comments, looks like I finished Series 3, 11 months ago.....well I just finished Series 3 today and it did go by fast again. Now all 3 Series are done again and it makes me feel good that I can still do them and a little easier this time. For the next couple of weeks, I do have to take it easy, I am having a minor surgery to remove skin cancer just below my right collar bone and the doctor wants me to take it easy, but she said easier workouts are ok, just to be careful and not overdue. I am looking at the Gentle workouts will probably be good, I just don't want to not do exercise and I will be walking every morning as long as it doesn't rain. Anyway I feel that I have accomplished a lot with you and your workouts, thank you for all of your encouragement. Hope you are having a great weekend....take care and God Bless
The gentle workouts are definitely an appropriate choice. I hope everything goes well with the surgery, Anne. 🫂
Week 3 of Series 3...DONE and I look forward to beginning Week 4 tomorrow! Thanks, Jules. And I bought a size 8 capri pants today!
Woohoo!!! It's definitely exciting buying a smaller size!
Jules....Week #3 done, I can't believe how fast the week goes by. Day #6 is getting better, the only ones I have to modify are the burpee and I think it's the mountain claimer, I did do the plank, all 3 times, that is an accomplishment for me. I am on the way to Week #4, it's hard to believe I did all 3 series of workouts but it has paid off greatly. I am looking forward to doing some of your new workouts after this week. You have been a great inspiration to me, I am so glad found you online.....thank you so much for all your hard work and for caring so much for all of us....have a great 4th of July weekend....God Bless....Anne
You are absolutely rocking the workouts, Anne! I feel as though you have progressed so much from when you first started these workouts. Congratulations for continuing to workout and for taking care of your health (and your future!).
The sweetest words today"this is your cool down"😂It took a while, but gradually the brain with the entire body accepted that the 15 sec break was on the same scale as the 45 sec w/o!!!!Then things moved relatively better.
Seriously though, everything about this series was so perfectly put together... appreciate every little nuance you bring in to make things doable and enjoyable...the last bit of music was👌Thank you , Jules...it was a privilege..💕
Thank you so much for such a beautifully written comment 🤗
Hi Jules....Week #2 done, I think I did good, day #6 I did modify 1 of them, I didn't do all 3 planks but I did do 1, the last one, kind of surprised myself. A few years back I was able to do 3 minutes but I feel as though I am doing good for my age. Again thank you so much for being here for all of us who want to be able to function properly. On to a stretch workout and 3 minute breathing exercise. I hope you are have a beautiful day and God Bless....Anne
Day 6 is definitely tough so I am glad you are modifying them as needed. Congrats on finishing week 2!
Just finished week 3 of Series 3. Such a wonderful boost to my every day activities. Looking forward to week 4. Take care.
Congrats on finishing 3 weeks! Just so you know, for Series 4, I only created the two interval training days. I felt at that point people would want to pick and choose the workouts for the other days based on what they enjoy.
I really appreciate your workouts. They are easy to follow (I am very uncoordinated!) while getting the heart rate up. Thank you for helping us get fit!
Thank you very much for your feedback.💖
Another fabulous workout! Another keeper! Thank you!
I'm glad to read that it's a keeper:)
Week 2 of Series 3 completed. I really enjoy the challenges and I'm surprised at what I can do at 77. Yay! On to Week 3.
You're phenomenal, Mary.💪
Thanks a lot, dear Jules. Hi from Israel🙏🍯🍯🇮🇱🙋🏻♀️
Thank you for taking the time to comment, Ofra. ❤️
Love this one!!
Hi Jules....did this class as a fill-in with Day 5 Kickstart Your Fitness...I will eventually do the 7-day of this series. I didn't do as well but I will continue to work on this. I love all the classes so far, I have 2 more days of the Kickstart and then I will be looking for a new series....thank you again for all your work in the series....take care, God Bless and Happy Resurrection Sunday coming up....Anne
Thanks so much, Anne:) Happy Easter to you, too!
Whooo Hooo! I started Feb 1, 2024 with choosing random exercises from your site when I first found you. On Mar 17th I started Level 1
for 4 weeks, then Level 2 for 4 weeks & this morning I finished Level 3 for 4 weeks. When I started my BP Jan 31st was 147 / 92 heart rate 93! It's now 119 / 80 heart rate 55!! I could just cry because I'm so happy!! I am noticing some physical changes but my goal was to get my BP down & because of you Jules, I did it. I can't thank you enough. May God Bless you & the work you do. Now I'm off to find the Level 4 Interval Training so I'm ready for tomorrow! 🤸🤸♀️🤸♂️
I literally said, "WOW" out loud after reading about the changes in your BP and HR! That is phenomenal, Beth! Absolutely amazing!!! I am insanely happy for you since you may have saved your own life by making the commitment to show up to exercise every day. Your BP/HR were definitely too high on Jan. 31st. Today...wow!!! 119/80 and HR of 55 is fantastic! An absolute kudos to you for making a change and for continuing to exercise to be healthy. Just so know, for the level 4 series I only made two days (day 1 and 3) for the interval workouts. I felt that at this point people would want to choose their own workouts for the other days. Plus, my hope is that viewers would also start incorporating more strength training into their week, too. Ideally, do full body strength training on days 2, 4 and 6 (can also add on cardio); on day 5 do a longer cardio workout; and day 7 you can do whatever cardio workout you wish. So happy for you, Beth!
Thanks for the info on how I should proceed. I will definitely continue with your workouts & the commitment to my health. 🤩
🌼🌺🌼 Thank you. Fantastic morning
Love the positivity of 'fantastic morning'. Working out in the morning definitely helps to start the day off right:)
Thank you very much for this great exercise!
Hey Jules.....I see by my comment that I needed to work on this day #7, I think by doing the first 2 series of workouts, it has helped so much, It was much better today than 2 months ago. I can't believe the first week is over. I did have a bit of a problem with day #6 but I will be working at it and I am going to do better by week #4. These classes have been such a help to me in so many ways. I continue to do my walks in the morning and after my series workout I do a stretch and the 3 breathing exercise but I usually sit with my eyes closed for the full 7 minutes, what a wonderful way to end. YOU'RE THE BEST....have a wonderful rest of your day....take care and God Bless...Anne
Day 6 is definitely tougher than my usual workouts so just do what you can. You can always do one of my other strength workouts instead for that day:) I'm glad you're enjoying the stretching and breathing videos. ❤️
I have exercised this program for 5 days. My health is getting better day by day so I can walk further. I will try to continue it. Thank you so much from Thailand.
Congratulations for working out for 5 days in a row! I look forward to hearing how it goes as you continue over the weeks. I❤️Thailand (travelled there in 1998).
Afternoon Jules did this work out again for got how hard it was but feel a lot better for doing it thank you 😀😊 xx
Another golden oldie I really enjoy! There is so much to choose from, and this is the perfect combination of cardio and ab work. Thank you Jules 😊
Thanks for your great comment, Susan.💖
Improved health your workouts are so motivating luv them.❤️
Thanks so much for your comment, Felicia. I’m very happy to read that you enjoy the workouts. 😀
It was a fast 20 minutes, but felt like a lot more than that. I finished the 7 days, but need to work up to more than one interval on day 6. Thanks!
great workout. My "Y" is closed on Sundays this makes for a good cardio workout for me. Thank you!
Kudos to you for choosing to workout today:)
I'm so happy I came across this workout! It's now my go-to for abs.
Thanks very much for letting me know that you enjoyed it.
Good morning Jules 🌄☕🌄 I absolutely love...love your energy and your script sent tears to my eyes this morning. 🥲 You are a true blessing Jules ❤️
Thanks so much, Mala. I'm glad to read that it was meaningful.❤️
@@ImprovedHealth 🤗❤️🤗
My first workout with you and just what I was looking for 🎉
Yay! Thank you for sharing that with me, Sue. Just so you know, I create gentle, beginner and intermediate level workouts (both seated and standing). To find the ones that suit you best, you can find the different ones categorized in the playlists and also on my website (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com). I hope that helps. Welcome to my channel!
Just completed Day 7 of Series 3. Thank you so much. Such a great combination of cardio and strength. By doing your daily morning workouts I am all “limbered up” for my pickleball game later in the day. I hope the smoke will soon clear in Ottawa. No wild fires, so far, in Newfoundland. Not complaining one bit about our rain, drizzle, and fog, as I look at the fires across the country. Take care.
Thank you for letting me know that you're enjoying these series, Barb. The air in Ottawa was decent yesterday and again the skies are fairly clear today. Hopefully with all the help from other provinces and countries, they'll get them under control.
thanks a lot.
We did this one again this morning; from my comments, it looks like we did this one a couple of months ago, but it seems like longer than that.
That’s a lot of workout in 20 minutes!!!
Wow!! Now we’re ready to take on the chores of the day!!
Lol, it is amazing how much can be packed into a 20 minute workout. I'm so glad your body is allowing you to do these workouts again.
Hi Jules,
I just finished series 3, day 7 😊
I love working out with you. I try and do it in the morning or at night.
Thanks SO much for letting me know that, Carol.💖
Easy as for my basically real lazy body. It was just like dancing, the movements were so free and relaxing. Loved it.
You’re not that lazy if you’re doing this! Kudos to you for working out:)
Whhhhhheeew..... I did this one wee while ago. Then saved it to an abs playlist.... Wow what a tummy worker. I was knackered lol that really was good. You really went for that.... I love a standing abs❤
I'll have to do another one soon.
Yea...done with week 3...on to week 4, series 3. I’ve enjoyed it all.
Congrats on getting to week 4!
Week 2 day 7 completed! Thank you
Awesome!
That was harder than the 60 minute one. Think I told a lie when I said I could no do knee raises. Perspiring quite a bit here. Loved it.....I think. Thanks again.
I think the 45 second change makes it feel much harder...amazing how we seem to get used to the 30 second intervals. Changing it up is good for us!
After doing the big hour and half yesterday I thought I would do this today. Man that was hard at times. Think my arms r bit weak after day 12 yesterday but I coped. I didn't realise this was part of a program, which I'm going to do after I've done 25 days. X. This was sooooper abs workout. TY xxx
There are 4 series to this one. Ideally, start at the first series (they are categorized in the playlists). I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
I've saved all the ones with series to my library, so I'm going be very busy lol
I really enjoyed this .
Thank for letting me know, Janet:)
Great workout
The last 3 days of this series was awesome. 😀
I'm so happy to read you enjoyed it!
Good morning Jules Just finished this workout. I’m pumped and read to start my day. Thanks so much!
It's great how exercise pumps us up:)
This workout does go super fast. Two more weeks and I’ll finish series 3. Look forward to your other workouts. Thank you as always.
Thanks Juanita!
Hi Jules, I did this one for my cardio and it had abs and some leg work included so it was really good! On to Strength day 3! Thanks!
So glad to read that you are doing the strength workouts. You'll soon be bench pressing your clients.😉
Week 3, day 7 completed!
Woohoo! Congrats for completing another week:)
Thank you! I enjoy working out with you. You made my workouts easy and enjoyable
Aww, thank you, Anita. I appreciate your comment:)
It is impossible to not move a bit faster when Jerry Lee Lewis plays. Thank you! More like this please!!!
So true! Thanks Joyce.
great workout x
Thanks you
Great length, level and pace: thank you!
Hi Jules😀
I’ve literally just finished the last exercises ..Week 4 of series 3 .. 🎉
I’ve followed your exercises every single day for the last 3 months .. including Christmas Day and the morning I had to get up early for a flight ✈️.
I’m proud of myself and I’d like to thank you once again for giving me the motivation to do it .. when I finished I blew you a kiss 😘.. did you feel it ?😂
You exercises are easy to follow , good fun , the music is great ( I know all the words by now and sing along .. think my husband would rather I didn’t though 😂)
I feel great .. lost loads of weight .. feel stronger and full of energy 💪🏻.
I’ll now start series 4 together with cardio and strength not forgetting the stretching ( I started with a1 kilo weights .. now using 3 kilos.. depending on the exercise)..and lots of long walks now the weather is warm and sunny and the daylight lasts longer .
❤ THANKS SO MUCH 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Julia from Italy 🇮🇹
I loved reading your comment, Julia. Thank you so much for letting me know how you've been doing and about your amazing progress! I am super impressed that you have worked out EVERY day for the past 3 months with Christmas Day included! I truly hope you are super proud of your accomplishments. It takes dedication to work out every single day, and you've done it! Thank you for sharing your success with me. I absolutely appreciate it. 😘back at ya'!💖
I love this series. I have to skip day 6 because of my injury. But the others fit me perfect. Last week my Doctor told me my muscels looks great 😍🥳 Thanks for the help. I cant wait to see what you are Up to next ❤️
Thanks so much, Dorte! I knew day 6 would be hit or miss depending on the person but I am happy to hear the other ones worked well for you.
Love this and another one I did earlier and I WILL be searching out the other 5 …. Thanks for bringing something new to my routine. I’ll be watching and working out with YOU again soon ❤️🤗
Welcome to my channel, Cathy! If you go to my playlists you'll find the workouts broken down into the different series. Thanks so much for your comment!
Well i finished the 7th day and i have to admit ,i amtired, boy i hope it gets easier but yet challenging,i hope i get in better shape,i was only doing 5 days before i started the series 3
Hi Stacy, if your body is really tired, it is okay to take a day off. This is a tough series. Give yourself permission to have a rest day (maybe do a stretch video instead) and then you’ll come back the next day ready to go again.
Just completed day 7 week 4! Would appreciate it if you have time how I should continue from here to increase challenges and grow stronger/leaner. Thank you!
Hi Julie! I actually just responded to another comment of yours with suggestions on how to continue:)
Wow, that was hard. 45 seconds seem much much longer than the usual 30.
I was ready to have a snack for lunch when I saw your workout popping up. After this I don't have to feel guilty having some light lunch. Thanks for looking out for us.
I totally agree about the 45 seconds seeming much longer. I wanted to change it up and I felt it was time to make some of the workouts a little bit more challenging. Plus, I think the 45 seconds seems a bit longer in this workout in particular due to the harder exercises for abs (arms being more involved as well as legs).
Wow! What a great workout! We hung in there; I only had to modify one of the moves. There was a lot of “huffing and puffing” and moaning and groaning, ha ha.
Lol, good for you and Rex for making it through the workout:) You did it!
Great! Thanks!
completed.. woo
Woohoo! 😃
I Love your exercise
Merci beaucoup , super!!
I know it’s rude to ask but could we have another like this please Jules😂
It’s not rude to ask at all. It’s already in my plan:)
Thanks for you
Do you know of any standing abs workout we could do as a follow up to this? I have a bad SI joint and too much lifting knee work can agitate it. Just wondering. Thanks so much for doing videos that concentrate on different areas!
Hi Taylor, I'm including a link for another one I created: czcams.com/video/zfT2J1SB53k/video.html
A lot of standing ab exercises are ones that do require your knees to be lifted but the ones in the link have less lifting of the knees. If you're able to do planks on the floor, I'd suggest adding those on to your workout after doing the standing exercises. Just focus on short periods of time (15-30 seconds) and gradually build up. When doing them, REALLY focus on feeling it in your abs to ensure your abs are getting the most benefit out of the exercise.
@@ImprovedHealth Thank you so much. I will check out that link and give it a go later in the week. Thanks again
👍💕
Day 7 of first week of Series 3 down. Start Week 2 tomorrow.
Congrats for finishing week 1!
👍👏👏👏👏!!!
👍👏👏👏☺️☺️🌹🌸🌼
