It's being rumored that when he retires FIDE is going to make a new piece in his honor
@@brandonmchugh9821 Rumor has it, the piece is an "anti-king" which can move to all squares that the king can't. Every square except for the surrounding 8.
The home square of the Magnus will of course be f2 and f7 for white and black respectively.
Although, what's interesting is that checkmate will no longer be possible until the Magnus is captured. An exciting time to be a fan of chess, to say the least.

Taking the pawn in b5 14:26 hangs a knight after bxf3 (if Qxf3 then Rxb5 winning the knight), but if King takes f3 then Qg4+ and no matter where the king goes the following move is Queen takes Queen in e2 winning again the knight in b5 with Rxb5.

I'd love a basic overview of the event time format before each tournament video. In the last tournament recap you kept saying the players got more time after move 40 but I still have no idea how long they had to get to move 40 and I'm still too lazy to look it up.
It was classical chess, so I think 1:40:00 and some really high increment or smtn
