Engines and supercomputers have brought on a constantly increasing demand for studying lines that GMs are getting sick of having to grind for. I think this will become a more common occurrence in the future.

Its funny i was listening to this famous marathon and ultra runner on the Nick Bare podcast. They were talking about in his life of constantly having this chip on his shoulder of thinking he needs to be the best of the best, training rigorously nonstop, and never thinking he’s enough despite being one of the most athletic in the world. Always trying to prove something to the world. I also remember him mentioning how miserable all that success ended up making him feel. This is who Ding reminds me of. One of the greatest chess grandmasters the world has seen. Keeps winning. Always has this chip on his shoulder and now needs to defend his title of being the best of the best.
