  • When I first reviewed the Dremel 4300 I said I would make another video as an update in a year's time. Well, it has in fact been 16months since that video, better late than never as they say!
    I also talk about the Dremel 3000 and The TackLife tool I also review, and I still have a little time to give you some tips on the Dremel 4300.
    My first review is here • Dremel 4300 Rotary too...

    Pro tip: make sure you chuck your quick disconnect tools all the way to the base of the locking mechanism. Spring tension and centrifugal force are the only things holding them in. I left about 1/2 inch of shaft sticking out to give myself more reach and had a diamond wheel fly across my garage and through the sheetrock.

    Thank you so so so SOOOOO much for this. I just watched your previous video, the WHOLE video too which happens very rarely, and I came here for the conclusion one year update. I just bought me a 9/64 set of this and a total newbie into this kind of tool. I bought it wanting a tool that can help me cut stuff or make bigger holes and whatnot, like on plastic. Not sure if this is the tool for such but I am happy to explore on the new possibilities. Willing to experiment, make a bit of a mess, some mistakes and have fun learning!

    Thanks! That was good, too. Unfortunately, I already ordered the Tacklife. But fortunately, I don’t plan on using it NEARLY as much as you do. I figure if I actually USE the thing a lot (only have 3 minor things I need it for at the moment), I will get the Dremel. Somebody else said “everybody” says they break, too. Yours seems to be great, so I will keep that in mind. Thanks again!

    Super helpful thanks so much for the tips and honest review. It's funny I had the taclife with flexsheft just fail on me while carving stone so I ordered the dremel 4300 even though I read some negative reviews on it. Nice to see it's still holding up for you a year later!

    I’ve actually got one since your original review and compared to the older dremel 3000 I have (which has been apart several times to unwind the wire a bit each time to make it work again) it’s so much better.
    Agree on the ez click discs. They also do one for the sanding drums I spotted the other day.

    Have you considered something like the Bosch Professional GRO 12V-35? I've like many others heard about dremels dying after less than a year, and can't really figure out how common that is.
    Have you used the plastic stuff like shields, guides and so on to a degree that you can evaluate them? They worry me.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  Před 3 lety

      I have not tried them no, I do wonder what difference there is inside as Bosch owns Dremel.

  • @steadyeddie7453
    @steadyeddie7453 Před 2 lety +2

    Thanks for the follow up to your first Dremel 4300 video. Plan to have the 4300 a long time. It has 50% more power than your previous 3000. Have you noticed it doesn't get as hot if you load it or run it a long time? Also, those Dremel brand cut off wheels are a blessing. The have that metal reinforcing ring in the middle. I have never had one explode like so many of the other standard ones that use screw mount. Cheers.
    ps- wear a mask when using the sanding drums as the abrasives that wear off become airborne and will end up in your lungs. Especially those Chinese sanding drums. They use formaldehyde in the glue for the abrasive.

    • @steadyeddie7453
      @steadyeddie7453 Před 2 lety

      UPDATE- If you have the EZ twist nose cap on your tool be sure it is screwed all the way down and tight before running the tool. Mine loosened in use and the collet holder caught it and spun it at 10,000 RPM, melting the plastic threads on the tool and the nose cap. Now I can't use any of the accessories that mount under the nose cap 😞

    Very nice video dude. Cheers! I'm probably gonna order the Dremel 4000 4/65 myself and am looking forward to learning about it. Will definitely remember to not run the wire brushes too fast. Don't wanna end up looking like a hedgehog. Hard pass on that. Lol. Cheers!

    Top class review, have recently purchased, one concern I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with... Within the 5000-10000 rpm range my dremel seems to almost struggle, for example (very anti h&s here) I can quite easily stop the rotation by applying very little pressure with my finger against the chuck... As a novice to the rotary drill world is this normal?, anything above 10,000 is fine, but under it seems kinda jittery almost as if its struggling.

    • @steadyeddie7453
      @steadyeddie7453 Před 2 lety +1

      Russell- Did you break in the new tool? You have to run a new Dremel for about 5 minutes UNLOADED in order to seat the brushes. When I first turned on my new 4300 the motor was erratic, or jittery in your words. I ran it for a good 5 minutes and it smoothed right out. Gotta seat those brushes. @T-roccBABY Před 2 lety

      How'd yours hold up and how often do you use it?
      I grabbed one of those Chinese Amazon specials but quickly returned it because the tool and it's pieces all seemed incredibly cheap, plus the reviews are fake/paid for, as with all cheap Chinese knockoffs and especially on Amazon (it's like a plague these days.)
      Then again, I'm doing bone, wood, antler, metal and possibly minerals type work so I'd need something reliable. If you're only cutting into computer shells every blue moon then the tak might work for you but quality in the end is key, and it won't hold up under constant use comparatively to a Dremel.
      For double the price and top of the line the quality, I've now got a Dremel 4300 for $90 CAD. Glad I held off and wound up getting the proper rotary tool, I honestly never thought I'd see a 50% sale on a Dremel, super stoked! Now I only wish the extension/precision flexi bit was also on sale haha. Unfortunately still the full $50.

    • @ConfusedRaccoon
      @ConfusedRaccoon Před 2 lety

      @@T-roccBABY Envious of that deal! I'd say if you're doing daily or even weekly work on those materials, get a proper one. I use mine maybe twice a month. Works like a charm, gets hot after a while, but she's still chooching strong.
      Cutting 1-2 mm steel takes an AGE because it burns through discs very quickly, using plunge cutting instead of groove, but I'm ham fisted. It takes like 1 minute to change the disc for 20-30 seconds of cutting. I'm also using the black cut-off discs, which I think may be incorrect, but it's all I have atm as none of my local hardware stores stock stuff for Dremel/rotary tools. I had a cashier call my tiny cut-off wheel "cute" lmao.
