I have been considering an Arylic S50 to pair with a vintage Pioneer SX 1080 and Kef 104/2 in my living room and another in the tv room Marantz 2230 and a pair of Kvart & Bolge Sound Sommeliers. Add to cart Thanks again for another great review Andrew. Keep up the great work.

QOTD: my answer is yes. But that's because I'm a believer in quality informes price not the other way around. There are many many expensive products out there that sound horrible that are only expensive to make them appear high end. High end is not a price it is everything to do with sound quality.

I bought an A50 few months ago to power some installed patio speakers and it works great. It generates almost no heat so I leave on all the time. That is one drawback, you can't power on from the app like you can some other units, like a Yamaha WXC-50. I use Spotify connect and rarely access the 4 stream app. I have it named patio and just choose it from my device list. This allows volume control with your phone buttons without ever opening an app once it's playing. It's a great little unit. I've also connected it to my Tekton Lore speakers and it will drive them monstrously loud with great bass. Highly recommend as a budget device.

Thanks for yet another awesome review. A very interesting unit indeed! I have been using the SMSL AD18 as a 2.0 stereo amp bedroom option and it has served me quite well so far. The form factor is equally compact. It does not have any streaming options but a load of connectivity, a dimmable display, and a useful yet simplified remote control at an equal price. But given your description of the Arylic, I wouldn't expect the AD18 being able to keep up with it sound-wise.

I watched your video, good first outing. If I may offer a little guidance, don't apologize for what you're doing or how you make your content. You do you, and just be yourself and don't compare yourself to others. The more you make videos, the more comfortable you will become, and things will improve. But let the viewers come on that journey with you rather than alerting them to potential "problems" before you even start. Honestly, your quality was better than a lot of other channel's who have followings and do unboxing, so don't sell yourself short. Be well!

I'm new to audio systems, but I got my hands on a pair of JBL 4311s and I'm considering the Arylic A50 too. I don't yet understand how to pair amps with speakers, so my concern is that the JBLs have a min 75watt and 8ohm requirement... Is it really fine to use such an amp (Arylic A50) with these speakers? Is there a risk to damaging the speakers? I don't need lots of volume as I live in a condo, so if the volume output isn't as high is no problem for me.

hey andrew, i have setup a number of these for multi room audio via in ceiling speakers (mostly q acoustics) and mostly am like you and super happy with them in pretty much every way.
Not sure if you are aware but they also have a pc program that has DSP functionality minus time alignment, but the EQ is great to help with in ceiling speakers!
As you mentioned speakers NEED to be efficient i have tried connecting to a set of other in ceilings and it struggles to power them big time, so i have just ordered the SA100 model as it has 50w @ 8ohms so hopefully that sorts it.
I will also add it depends on what source is used as if playing any steaming radio via app (tunein, internet radio, iheart) it really struggles to play loud enough, and to get any sort of listening volume the A50 needs to be at almost full volume.
would be great if it just had am little more grunt!

@@davidfluty7213 Phoenix convectors are pretty small, you might get half of the strands in there. I think the largest I've been able to fit is 18 or 20 gauge... I'm interested to hear if you were successful in piggybacking 4 units together on the network, and how your user interface works for controlling them; independently and collectively.

I have been through a similar exercise for my bedroom, due to needing a bit more I/O I ended up with a Denon CEOL N10 and Q acousics 3020i. ( I already have 2050i, 2020i and 200C in my living room system). I have become a fan of Q acoustics kit. Easy to get on with.
As for the high end question, probably not. but I may just buy one whilst they are still cheap. Be fun to put one in an amp case and see what friends/random punters think.

It's very interesting topic. It would be awesome if you could continue doing reviews on wifi multiroom speaker system. I was thinking to expand my sound system to other rooms (Marantz av) with heos, but for me it does not justify the price. Maybe you could do a video on (budget)wifi multiroom setup + integration with for example sonos, heos, etc. BTW I'm big fan of your channel, production quality and narration are just top notch! Great review, never heard of this brand before. For main system would not consider, but for 2nd system office/garage seems reasonable. Better yet that S50 Pro preamp sounds like a cheaper version of Bluesound Node 2i and very interested. Has digital pre-outs, could definitely go in main system. Biggest feature for me is compatibility with Amazon music.

To seek your professional high fidelity advice. I am looking to replace DIY computer audio output to use DAC USB connectivity.
Was considering Klipsch "the Five", spur by this high quality review of yours, will you recommend combination of Arylic A50+S50Pro+Klipsch RP600M/ alternative Dynaudio EMIT 10? In comparison between the 2 setup, ie. built-in factory amp and the other "a customised" config, how would they sound like in your opinion even they are placed with different input source?

Hello Andrew, thank you for a top-notch review. as always.
I'm currently on a lookout for a good sounding, well-connected integrated amp to my (leaning on a budget) hifi-system. I've watched your review in amazement about how A50 apparently checks out all the boxes at such an affordable price - so much that I was almost waiting for a catch (like I dunno, it potentially burning your house down or something). So imagine my heartbreak when you mentioned it NOT being a good match for a power-hungry speakers such as Elacs B6.2 - which is specifically what I upgraded to just a few months back😭
Do you think that a bit bulkier Acrylic amp, SA100, could match well with Elacs? Best regards

Another great review, thanks. I have a Bluesound Node 2I and an Arylic S50 feeding 2 different amplifiers in different rooms. For me the Bluesound UI is far superior to 4Stream which I use for the Arylic. Regarding value for money the Arylic is excellent. I've been using it via it's own DAC as well as feeding a couple of others I have at home. I think Arylic are another company showing what good value you can get for a relatively small amount in today's HIFI market.

Again, you show the Sony WH-1000XM4 on your showroom. Did you pair them with the A50? How it was? Remember, just when I was convinced to have the Double TeamWired for my Headphone needs (Sennheiser HD-650 plus a JDS Labs Element II) your enthusiastic review hit me hard on my audiophile cortex. So, what should I do on this pandemic times where I can't compare both options live on a good Hi Fi store?

I'm pretty much an average consumer and enjoy your show Andrew. After my Denon RCD-M38DAB stopped working I replaced it with the Arylic A50, kept the original pack in Denon speakers as they sounded fine with the original system. For £130 the A50 sound is ok but a bit thin, so I give it a little bass bias though the app in some tracks. Sound stage & Separation and resolution sound fine to me but these terms are subjective. speakers are 3m apart and I'm sat about 5m away. High end? never heard high end but the A50 is an adequate sounding substitute and does Spotify connect, job done

Small powerful systems like this are interesting. I would, and have built a two chanel system using the small Radio Shack Optimus STA-20, bought brand new in 1998, and paired with (Salvation Army rescued) vintage KLH bookshelf speakers when I was temporarily rooming with a friend in a two bedroom apartment. My audio system was stored during that time. He was searching for a decent sound system. We were both shocked and amazed at how great the sound and power that little, inexpensive unit delivered. Both being audiophiles, I questioned the need for a huge system. I moved out into my own place with my Optimus in tow. (He had bought an entirely new system by that time.) I super enjoyed that Optimus for months after until I had the energy to reassemble "the grand system" I have. I still have that made in China (and/ or Taiwan) Optimus, costing less than $50.00 (sound is very respectable having powered my large Advents for a while) Please, be careful interchanging "cheap" and "inexpensive"! The Arylic is inexpensive. Symantics, I know, but using "cheap" here, connotes poorly made. The Arylic units seem to be solid products. Comparatively, the Optimus is very low, old school tech, but that's part of its charm. However, another excellent review of a product to possibly look into.

    • @andrewrobinsonreviews
      @andrewrobinsonreviews  Před 3 lety

I understand what you are saying, Jon, and I'm not trying to imply these are cheaply or poorly made. If build quality was an issue, I would tell you so. That said, people search for words like "cheap" far more often than they do "inexpensive" (trust me, Kristi does extensive research on every single video we produce) and as much as we wish we didn't need to play the title game on CZcams, it's unavoidable. That is at least until we reach those Marques Brownlee numbers 😜.
