Are we really surprised by the results of this speaker? I do have a couple of questions - sort of off topic of the Emotiva speaker.....1. Have you ever heard a speaker that sounded good but measured poorly? If so, do you think the poor measurements eventually over rule your ears? How do you avoid such bias?

hello andrew! What would your top 5 AVR receivers be (onkyo, sony, yamaha, denon)?

Easily a well made Class D can match class AB in sound quality and surpass in all other areas: features, price easily. These days, we need a good DAC and HDMI is a common source that no one can ignore. Weigh other options before buying is good idea. I think it wows us when a Class AB matches Class D in treble and bass areas.

To beat a Cambridge Audio cxa amp you' ve got to pay at least + 50% Rotel is worth its price..maybe...

Easily beaten by Cambridge Audio cxa 61 or 81...even lacking tone controls. Its sound is dry , it needs warm speakers... right the wrong HiFi way...warm amp with a lot of current and neutral or dry speakers. I bought and sold it.

Careful. That "leatherette" finish on some products turns to sticky goo over time.

I don't want "punchy" sound. That's not High fidelity. I agree that it's a very nice table, but will it hold up for 40 to 50 years, as the Technics will. Your coments on the sound are simply a matterr of which cart is being used, rather than a function of the turntable.

Curious if you reached out to Emotiva to troubleshoot if you received defective product? I haven't heard of a single return of these speakers because they were overheating amplifiers.

For me, High End is something only a few in Dubai can afford. If someone can afford it In Beverley Hills or Mayfair, it's not real high end.

Have you tried a listening to the speakers using a smaller triangle? Maybe keeping the speakers around 6-7 feet apart?

Thank you for the best audio review on the internet that I've seen to date. Yep - I mean everything so far, for years. Detailed, clear, and honest. Heretofore, I'd almost written you off as an audio lightweight, but here you've proven yourself as a capable, perceptive, highend audio reviewer.

Everything is subjective, until you measure it. High resolution digital is better than vinyl. More dynamic range, more S/N, less distortion, and jitter is nit a modern issue. I have noticed the people that are likely to believe a $1000 power cable makes a difference, are the same people to likely believe in catastrophic climate change. lol. More impressionable than most.

The pioneer 505 worse receiver I ever had, returned it twice, hard to connect to speakers, miss the old fashioned receiver plug and play

Also i bought some of the old T-zeros on clearance for my sons bedroom. In there, for videogames they sound just fine. When i tried them in the living room they sounded hollow and lifeless no matter the source material.

Im curious if these would sound better in an average small american living room with ZERO Acoustical treatments beyond carpet, sofa & love seat?

Ugh. I have a very simple 3.1 setup and was looking for a decent 5.1 receiver, no frills, budget AVR a few years ago and would have loved this then!

In my past upon listening to B&O speakers..i was immediately turned off because they were over the top in a sterile sounding , they gave me a headache ..i can't remember what model number it was.But i had a B&O turntable for over 40 years and i did not have any problems with it.Sorry to say it was vandalized when someone broke into.my apartment. Having said the aforementioned i would like to give them a audition. Greatly appreciate this channel. Last question is how much do they cost ?

Never been a fan of Emotiva… here’s one reason why…

I'm glad I went with my JBL studio 680 over these. These have all the output and dynamics I need powered off a Denon AVR X3800h.

I’ve seen almost all of your videos and from what I can make of these speakers, they seem to be a bit of a failure?

So this whole time I thought I was having AVR issues because it keeps flashing High Heat at certain volumes and now it seems like it the Airmotiv main speakers I have that's causing it. It's ok I've been planning to replace them with Ascend Acoustics 340SE2 since I already have the center. I'm sure now after this video the speakers were the problem.

I have the Diome' smartsound bar ...and im COMPLETELY LOST WITH connecting it. ...maybe missing parts or im slow..no wire but its supposed to be wireless. Cant find the app to connectwithBluetooth...please help ?

100W RMS is my minumum anyway. That said...I would still buy Klipsch RP over these.

I have the new Emotiva XB2 bookshelf and XC2 center. They replaced klipsch RP280F floorstanding and klipsch rp504c center channel. In my preference the Emotiva is a much better speaker overall. More open, not as bright, bass is more articulate vs muddy. There is a better mid range vs klipsch that was hard to make out even with proper EQ. But I run a Outlaw 7000x with XLR paired with Tonewinner AT-300 16 channel processor which was upgraded from Marantz SR5015 and Emotiva BasX amplifiers. I'm sure there are equipment that will bring out these but for my preference there amazing. :)

Emotiva made speakers that their own av receiver will probably struggle to power. That’s confusing. Unless it’s a marketing gimmick to sell more of the XPA line amplifiers.

Hi Andrew, I am 71 years old and have been pursuing this hobby since I was 12 - built a few Heathkits (griefkits is what we used to call them ) an allied shortwave receiver, and a couple of Dynaco amps along the way, and a hafler dh-200 years ago. I dont build them any more but I do try to buy good value equipment that lets me enjoy music without the intrusion of noise and distortion from badly designed equipment. That said, I think a decent HT receiver is a perfectly acceptable way to enjoy music and I have for years enjoyed my HTR-5560 yamaha receiver, both as a stand alone unit using the internal amps and as just a preamp processor with some of Bob Carver's wonderful amplifiers as foundations for reproducing live levels in my home. Speakersd? VMPS Tower II special edition mains with their center and AR3a's as surround speakers and the wonderful VMPS larger subwoofer (2 0f them) rounding out the bottom end. Each channel was blessed with at least 600w/channel of power thru Bob's genius creations. Alas a home fire in late april of this year destroyed all of that equipment and now I am starting over. The VMPS speakers are no longer available...the Yamaha HTR-5560 is available only in unrestored used condition and Bob Carver's amps are a vanishing breed. That said, I am leaning towards the high powered Emotiva amps and the Yamaha A6A Receiver as a replacement for the old Yamaha, and considering a set of Legacy Audio Focus as the Front LR, a pair of Signatures as rear surrounds, a Legacy audio Marquis XD center speaker and a a pair of deep sea sound 18" powered subs as the foundation for the system. I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on these choices - The room its going in is 15x18 with a sloped ceiling that goes from 10' to 20' along the long dimension of the room. Room will have carpeted floor and sheetrock walls and ceiling.
