You guys really cover a lot of ground during the course of a year. Great work.
I liked the Yamaha A-S3200, Decware Zen and Klipsch and Magnat speakers from your reviews. In fact I ordered the Yamaha A-S1200 because it is more my budget. Should arrive Tuesday. I like that it is all analog and won't have an out dated dac or version of bluetooth to deal with in the future. Also that I can switch the speakers off and use the pre amp out to feed my tube amp giving me flexibility. I also ordered the Decware Zkit1 kit version of the zen and will put that together after the first of the year.

My nominees are the Kanto YU Passives and the Samsung Q950A sound bar.
      And the winner is…..
      The Samsung Q950A!!
Your advice and reviews made me cancel an order for the Klipsch Cinema 1200 and am I ever glad I did. The Samsung is a relentless monster that’s got me seriously thinking about selling my main AVR system and replacing it with a second Samsung. The convenience and the full 11.1.4 Atmos system are a steal at its price. It only has two faults. The damned display on the top and not having the controls that display oversees on the app. Other than that, I love the thing. Bravo, Samsung.

My favorite product was Sony's HT-A9. Reason being, while looking for a new house and having to take into account room dimensions/layout with the HT-A9 none of that really matters. Set it up, and it just works. I'm also a diehard Sony fan so that plays a factor no doubt.

    • @sdemosi
      @sdemosi Před 2 lety

The HTA9 gives a great experience to people who have neither the time nor inclination to learn how to research or set up a home theatre set of components properly. That's amazing really. Not everyone wants to put in the work and if they have the money it's the product for them.

I, for one, AM surprised by Kristis pick for product of the year!! So nice to hear a reviewer choose a budget minded product, purely on how it sounded! If we are going to encourage a new generation of audiophiles, we must have products that are VERY affordable to get them in to the hobby. I haven't heard them personally, but of the products that I have heard, that you guys compared them to, I can tell that they are something that WOULD appeal to new folks to the hobby! Thank you guys for all thst you do! I have taken your recommendations on some products, and I don't know what I would Do if I hadn't listened to your review of the Crown XLS drivecore amp...it just brought my Maggie's to life! Look forward to you guys with my Sundsy morning coffee. Thank you. God bless you both! Wishes for a prosperous New Year! Peace ✌

There have been a couple “silver linings” in the COVID-19 cloud for me and getting into HiFi audio and finding this channel are 2 of them. Thank you Andrew AND Kristi (honestly I think I look forward to Kristi’s opinions as much as Andrew’s and her importance to this channel shouldn’t be under appreciated) for such thoughtful intelligent and honest reviews. My product of the year is absolutely the Beolab 28’s that I serendipitously got to demo in NYC last week. I wrote a lengthy comment on that video last week but I’ll just say those speakers were like none I’ve seen or heard and they literally moved my wife to tears. I often roll my eyes at audio gear that is cost of a used car but these speakers were such a revelation that my wife and I are actually considering buying them.

You pushed me over the line earlier this year to get the wood finish Beosound Stage, and I really love it sonically and aesthetically. As to the QOTD: MB Quart QL C604 loudspeakers. I found these towers in a flea market here in Northwest Arkansas, brought them home, and then learned not only how fantastic they sound, but how incredibly rare they are. Made in Germany before MB Quart was bought out in 2006, these things are nearly impossible to find anywhere on the internet. So I think I scored quite well!

This is wonderful addition Team. Happy for the Technics, AXR100 and Transpulls, Klipsh of course notwithstanding them being outside of my reality of things, I had hoped the Monitor Audio 100 will get more nomination but its cool. Great year for me more so because of this channel. I love you guys. I do! Your proficiency, how you take what you do so seriously it shows, top quality. Well done Andrew

Product of my year is the Q Acoustics Concept 500. Yea you reviewed it last year but I bought them this year and I love them. Thanks for pointing me in their direction.
PS. I’d love to see a Hegel review from you guys this year. Love to hear your thoughts

The Q Acoustics Concept 500 are phenomenal. I listened to them 2 years ago and was so impressed (I think in combination with a Hegel amp). During Black Friday these were sold for 2900 Euro / 3300 USD a pair in Germany. I think its hard to get better sound for the money. I think next year I will buy them, too.

What I love above this channel is the expert, critical ear of Andrew and the more “normal person” response from Kristi. I think of you two as two sides to the same coin. As a professional musician, I tend to listen to things more critically and your coin fits this approach beautifully. Now, I just need to decide between a Musical Fidelity M series, 3 or 5, and your Audiolab recommendation.

Andrew and Christy thank you for the fun, fun, fun review! So engaging! I smiled, laughed almost through the whole review.
My personal favorite product of the year is the Emotiva amp and preamp. For under $1,000 best I’ve heard. I have them paired with the Klipsch Heresy IVs and love the combo.
Thanks again for the fun review!

My pick of the year? It’s an real hard choice between my AXR100 or Sumiko Moonstone. And while the margin is razor thin, the Sumiko gets the nod from me. The Ortofon 2M Red that came on my ProJect Debut Carbon Esprit was bright bright bright. And since I put the Sumiko in there, I’ve hardly ever played digital music. It absolutely revolutionized my listening experience.
Thanks again to both of you for helping in my choice to buy the AXR100, it was definitely the right purchase for me 🤝

Your reviews influenced me to buy the Leak 130 int amp and Wharfdale Denton speakers. I then went to a local hi-fi dealer to test out the KEF LS Metas after watching your review. I ended up discovering the dealer had Sonus Faber speakers and fell in love with the Sonus Faber Olympics Nova II - amazing design and sound. A close runner-up for me for my POTY would be the Buchardt A500 speakers - amazing sound and perhaps exemplifies the future of hifi.

    Hello Dear friends.
I've just bought a whole new hi fi system from a brilliant specialist shop in Grimsby England ( The Audio Room).
None of the separate items were included in your review but I really enjoyed your video...it was great to see and hear you so positive and happy and it was lovely to witness.
Have a great Christmas and here's to you both in 2022.

The AudioLab 6000a gets high praise indeed. However I enjoy listening to more than one set of speakers. I suppose I could switch out sets but I'm lazy. Their 8300a is probably a better fit for me. Thank you for your content!

Absolutely awesome video! So my personal product of the year (even though just new to me) are the Klipsch rp8000f speakers. They may not be the greatest or newest but I found a pair brand new for $800. They have totally transformed my home theater/listening room. The other product of the year for me is a 9’ x 4.5’ acoustic panel wrapped in black velvet and mounted on ceiling above my projector screen. It enhanced my audio and image contrast beyond belief. Totally custom made and installed on drawer sliders so I can move it to get behind my screen.

Wonderful work, you have made this year more enjoyable thank you to you both, sadly I want to buy everything there like many others and will probably lose my job in a couple months due to all the restrictions still in effect and having to help family as well so I wonder if I will still upgrade, its hard to know how much of a difference it would make but you have been really helpful and thanks for keeping the dream alive with La Scala and the rest. There is only one review of the Audiolab Omnia so far, cant wait for yours! happy holidays!

Thank you for everything this year. I've really enjoyed the Klipsch journey so I'm glad to see them get some love here (but no RF-7 III or Cornwall reviews yet, maybe something for 2022? 🙂). My product of the year was finally nabbing my first OLED, a 65" LG CX. It took over four months of down payments, but it's mine now! Happy holidays to you both.

I know you don’t like listening to headphones but when you a not so good sounding room headphones can be the answer. For me the product of the year although it’s on the market for a long time is the Hifiman Sundara headphone. They are not to expensive but the sound is so to my taste: detailed, neutral, great soundstage. If I would buy an amplifier it would be the Audiolab that you liked so much.
I love your reviews and the fact you have the guts to give a bad review ( the Bower and Wilkins 607’s).
    Keep up the good work.
    Kind regards

I would have to say the Cambridge Audio AXR100. I bought one to replace my HK AVR7000 and I have no regrets. As a matter of fact the Cambridge is audibly superior in every way. Great job you two on growing the channel. You put your hearts and souls into it and it shows. Happy Holidays and I can't wait for the new year.
