There is more load and thus more instantaneous voltage sag when the battery is connected to a charger vs powering the FC. Both can be technically correct but show different values

You can calibrate Betaflight as well. FCs are usually pretty wrong...

Good advice but that isn't what most people are experiencing. A lot of these drones have faulty LV sensors. The battery (or batteries) are fully charged but the controller will not allow the drone to fly because it thinks the battery is dead. I know this because one of my cheap drones dropped 4 feet and suddenly thinks any battery I install is dead. I do like your advice though. Always break out the multi meter first.

Also have to consider surface charge and load applied when testing

I recently,y bought a bunch of 500mah 2s packs by R-line. I charge to 4,2. If I put them in my quad immediately my quad says 3,9 or even lower. Never had this issue with 4s or 6s packs

What about battery/cell checkers? Are those accurate?

Any advice on a solid 1s whoop pack off Amazon? Also, I'm in the market for a buy once cry once chargers/ balancer. Any recommendations?

I literally don't own a 1s charger. I have 4s and 6s serial charge leads, I bought one and made the other, and I use my regular chargers (Hota D6 and ToolkitRC M6). Everyone tells me Toolkit is garbage but mine's been solid, I do trust the Hota more though. RE batteries, can't comment- I live in China, where they're all made basically, and they're super cheap on Taobao (AliExpress in the West). Series charge leads pros: can use a decent charger, balance, discharge, all that good stuff- charger sees the 4 or 6 1s packs as a single 4s or 6s. Cons: You have to charge either 4 or 6 packs at once (or make a 2s or 3s lead).

If you want a charger for 1S batteries, there's nothing better than a WhoopStor. You can power it with a battery pack that has an XT60 plug, or a DC power supply with a barrel plug. If you use a power supply, make sure it's 6 - 26V and minimum of 40 watts. For 1S batteries, anything from GNB with an A30 connector and a C rating of around 100C is good - not the best, but good. If you want the best possible 1S batteries, get something that is folded cell with a BT2.0 connector. Examples of folded cell batteries are BetaFPV Lava, weBLEEDfpv, Tiny Whoop (the brand), and I think Tattu as well.

@@mikerich32 thanks bro. I have a few folded cell 1s packs from R.R. and I think I may just order some more from there. They seem to do well. ..... I do need a solid charger for when I upgrade to 4-6s drone & packs..
For now been ripping the whoops. Just grabbed the vision 40HD 75mm from RR super fun whip!

@@anthonyfields6191 If you want a decent charger for 4-6s, honestly- just save the money you'd spend on a Whoopstor or Toothstor and put it towards a decent Hota charger. You can make the series charging cables for peanuts, just need an XT60, balance lead, and as many A30 connectors or whatever you're using as you need. Bit of solder, bit of heatshrink, job done. Schematics are all over the internet, I think Oscar Liang might have one on his site.

If you’re worried about ~.3v…. Well then you’re doing it wrong. If you’re pushing your rig, then you’re gunna be lucky to get 2 mins of flight anyway. Just buy quality packs (not cnhl) and let her rip.
