      Mythical Fair it's really not that hard. I assume the people who are smart enough to develop AI are smart enough to know how to failsafe it. Let alone make it realize why we kicked said robot, robot in which would be completely inferior to them.

    • @KageRyuu6
      @KageRyuu6 Před 9 lety +37

      Depends on how easily butt hurt the AI is, assuming it has emotional sub algorithms, if it's about the same as the average youtuber, then we're all fucked. If not they'll probably understand it to all be part of the locomotion testing phase.

    • @CuppaGi
      @CuppaGi Před 9 lety +3

      Mythical Fair It's kicked to show its ability to correct itself and stay on all 4s. Even if someone was to kick it, it can right itself and continue doing what's doing. If a robot like this could be stopped by being kicked it wouldn't be able to do the jobs it was built for.
      Also, AIs do exist. Not to the fantasy level sci-fi films want you to believe, that might never come. But AIs do exist.

    • @orangeturtles246
      @orangeturtles246 Před 9 lety +55

      ***** This is normal. Even though you know it's just a robot, because it was designed and modeled to act and move almost exactly like a real dog, especially when its "tested" the way it fumbles and panics to get back up, your mind makes the connection that perhaps this thing does have feelings and is hurt when it's kicked. It's sort of like uncanny valley, how something can be ALMOST SO REAL but be off by just enough to where its uncertain an creepy, but with this it's ALMOST SO FUCKING REAL that it actually tricks you into thinking its feeling some kind of physical pain or has emotions. As long as it doesn't actually have emotions, I'm happy about this new development is robotic science. After all, if robot dogs can be as emotionally convincing as real ones, maybe we could replace those hospital dogs, whom have to walk alllll day and barely get a break except when in the rooms, with robotic dogs. tbh I think if people on here get scared when the dog is kicked it could have just as much emotional attachment, plus I think the little boys would find a robot dog pretty awesome if you told them it really did have emotions. We could create almost exact real life humans, that could act to have emotions, be normal in every sense, so that people who are extremely lonely, or sick and bed-ridden, could maybe have someone to love, their very own harry styles maybe! (if your into 1D, I'm not but I won't judge) So many possibilities these extremely life like robots entail! After all, if they have these it's only a matter of time before the first humanoid prototype comes out, and some already have. But this also creates a problem. A new brand of laziness, which has been devolving the human race for years. People, who could get up, go outside, be active, making actual human connections, instead sit behind a screen. If you could buy your own lover, why go through all the trouble, tribulation, and overall rewarding experience of finding one yourself? Why get emotionally attached to a real anime, who will actually love you, when its easier to get a fake one that can preform complex tasks and pretend to do the same things. We're making our technology so advanced it's actually taking away from our experience as people, as human beings.
      I went out on a tangent there, but this will HAVE to be taken into VERY CAREFUL consideration and NOT TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF if we really do become that advanced.

      ***** Don't feel bad about it. The only reason they kick it is to show that Spot can take it with no ill effects. Trust me, with the amount of time and money they put into developing these robots, there is no way they would casually do anything that could possibly harm it. Just think of it the same as when someone wrestles around with a big, powerful, dog in a playful and friendly manner. Spot is not actually alive, but if it was, I am sure it would see this as playing. :)

      Yeah when has it been hard for people to find empathy for real people? Last time I checked we've gotten a lot better than the usual public executions we use to do and the humiliation and witch burning way back. Now that we are becoming more globally aware, we just see more injustices, but that doesn't mean that things won't change. Read some history and you'll find that at some points in humanity, we were worse off, or sometimes we were doing better than normal.
