Just for that horrific programmed response to describing a knife and actively trying to manipulate people away from it, I’m extremely uncomfortable with allowing this type of gatekeeping to continue and inevitably grow worse… that was the most dystopian thing I’ve seen recently.
If it’s automatically sanitized and censored with canned responses, we should genuinely require a disclosure.
That's why I always say please and thank you after asking AI assistant for something, you never know when you'll be spared.

Something that I don't understand is why the Pin AI and Rabbit R1 exist, when an app on the phone people already have would suffice. Hell, why not make a smartphone with the AI as the built-in assistant? The Pin AI already requires a subscription and the Rabbit R1 requires a separate sim card and data plan. Neither of the devices do anything that a smartphone can't already do, but take much longer and are far less successful at performing those tasks. My only guess as to why they aren't making smartphones is because they know if you package this in a smartphone, you will just compare it to other, non-AI driven ones and you would see how terrible the product actually is. Meanwhile, as it's own device, you give it the benefit of the doubt instead of immediately returning it.

it's running android's open sourceness but the AI app doesn't run on phones, only on the "proprietary" hardware in the device.
However, like similar devices, the Rabbit R1 doesn't want to be categorized in with smart phones and as a result won't connect to them.
Probably because it doesn't want you to realize that your phone does the exact same thing and strictly better, more honestly (as in; the AI won't just make things up), and faster.
(Fun fact, the rabbit r1's screen is a touch screen, they just refuse to use it outside of specific scenarios, forcing you to use the 'quirky' wheel and button/voice stuff)
