- Mango’s cousin Himsagar a.k.a Himmy goes to the US to study and within a span of two weeks his accent completely changes to an American accent. Mango has always thought that these people are wannabes and do this to show off but there’s another angle to this story.

I had a similar experience moving to the West, they don't make an effort to understand the English with our Indian accent. You have to adopt their style

Thats more of a black american rapper accent. Not every american speaks like that. Southern Americans accents are way more different. Stereotypes.
There’s a reason the title says “an” American accent and not “the” American accent. There’s not even a single country in the world where the whole population speaks any language (including their own) the exact same way, that’s the whole concept of dialects 😊
Mango there wasn't much wrong about Himsagars American accent, but it was your "stereotypical" Indian accent which looked very weird 😂
it looks weird only to people who are insecure of their identity. Most north Indians speak the way Mango does, and it's pretty clear from their videos that both of them embrace the way they speak and do not try to hide it. Only people who are confident in themselves and do not need western validation speak in their own accent. As Dussehri Chacha said in another Mango and Basil video "accent just means you speak another language", there's nothing more to it, it's the portrayal of accents in the media and TV shows that portray an accent as "funny" or "weird". So grow up and try to BE cool instead of PRETENDING to be cool!

You learned the language,
passed ielets and stuff,
and those learned programming languages, and tools.
Can't learn the pronunciation!
Not that hard if you keep your heart in it.
It may take weeks or months. But keep trying, and practicing.
