I know he's a great actor for two reasons. One, in the office I had no idea he was British. Two, he is a super cool dude and I absolutely hated him as Charles miner. That was my only experience with him. Was hating Charles. Then I saw other stuff and I was like, damn he's good.

I think a lot of these cheaper online clip companies half ass captions with no real care for accessibility. They just want to make it so people on their phones watch the video even if sound is off. It's really sad, because it should be such an easy win accommodating disabilities.
They also just use speech-to-text and don't proof read that it's correct half the time!

He can definitely do an American accent. Whoever did the commentary at the beginning of the video should’ve reworded it by saying that Idris couldn’t do one in the EARLY stages of his career.
I don't think he couldn't do one, there was probably another reason why he was dubbed here....he sounds like a tv commercial. He does such a good accent it's hard to believe he couldn't have done one for this crappy movie (or whatever it is), even if early in career.
It's the nature of click bait. nobody was ever gonna click on or pay attention to a clip about that in comparison to a clip that's much more intended to make you ask questions.

He literally played Stringer Bell in The Wire and did a Baltimore accent for 5 seasons. One of the hardest American accents to do I think.
