As he’s looking over my shoulder at my phone my 6 yr old son says “Hey! It’s the click-it guy!” So we have to fast forward to the last two seconds and watch that before I can go back and watch the whole thing. Thanks for being the “click it guy!”

I own 10 watches, have 3 currently in rotation, I'll include an out-of-rotation one to round it out:
Beater/Daily (I wear them in the same category) for cold weather: OG Timex Ironman. Love this thing. Looks so cool and takes a beating like a champ.
Beater/Daily for hot weather: Invicta Pro Diver
Diver: Citizen Promaster, doubles as a dress watch, wear it to work.
Dedicated dress watch: Fossil Chrono, wear it to church.

Just got myself the CA-53W in green which I prefer over your choice, and I'm tempted to get it in red too. I'd add the Casio EFV-130D to the collection - an absolute strap-monster with its white dial! As an everyday I'd get a Tissot Chrono XL with green dial but change the strap for a decent Milanese. And for some luxury-fun I'd add a Pagani (yes, you heard that right) 1661 Submariner hommage with a blue dial and get some decent natos - I've been asked many times if that is a Rolex, which is fun. So in total we're well under 600 £ - in normal shops. If you don't like the Tissot for being big and quartz you could go for a Seiko Cocktail Time instead for an extra 100 £, maybe in light-blue. Cheers!

Bulova did not lose out on the contract, they withdrew. Rumor has it that Omar Bradley, who was Bulova's chairman at the time learned through his numerous Pentagon contacts that the contract was for a small number of watches and wouldn't justify the expense of completing the contract. Bulova introduced the Accutron tuning fork movement later that year.

When Citizen reintroduced the titanium "Barnacle" models several years back (this Promaster is a lookalike) they put sapphire glass on them and they did the same with the uprated "Lefty" too. I can't understand why they took a step back with this one. It could have been a massive hit. The Bulova too is a let down even with the grey price. Please major manufacturers no more glass crystals.

Mmm…I think your previous "four for under 1k" fared better: the Casio fails on at least two counts for me (and I say this as a calculator-watch fan from WAY back), and while I *want* to root for the Bulova just for the effort taken to bring it to market, the lug-to-lug kills it dead. The Promaster's too big, but the Bullhead chronograph is just-about right in terms of dimensions and price. Sorry to be this rough.

Hey Russell! I agree with your wife))) Citizen automatic is really ugly. It looks like half undercooked 62mas and a pinch of rolex submariner with wrong arrow minute hand.
    Casio rocks!

I like the missus comments , she doesn’t pull any punches 😃 if I was a collector I’d probably like all of those , but I’m just an old peasant pensioner that thinks about wearing them, I have pretty big ugly mitts and big wrists so the calculator and the last citizen would be out , the bulova and 1st citizen looked alright , but I’m a bit more digital oriented and kinda like the more rugged watch style like the big gshock models with the better legible screenspreferably with clear numbers and hands because I’m a clumsy old git with so so eyes ……. and I have a draw full of broken watches 😳.
I’ve only ever had one good watch in my life , that was a omega proper gold case speedmaster chronograph( a birthday present) which I no longer have sadly …. ( sorry Nan )Don’t ask 😅.
I must confess I love the super duper big expensive brand name dress watches like the 20k ones you occasionally see in adds for the rich and shameless with the amazing movements and dials , but I have the early gshock bank account 😂, but I could probably stretch to a mudmaster or rangeman if one grabbed me.
Edit , I still like looking at the different watches , and I like your sense of humour mate.

My earlier post seems to have been taken down. Did I do something wrong?

There is so much to like about the Bulova, but the 16mm lug width, for me, kills it. Shame.

The lug width on the Mil-Ships is utterly ridiculous. That nato looks like a shoelace.
