I enjoyed the music selection, too! Especially for the final scene and the credits. Such good timing!
Love the Rokinons! Great bang for buck. Another dope video too.
Thanks! Yeah for the price, can't be beat.
this was amazing.
sick . well done like the post processing effects
The opening shot was incredible!
Absolutely!
i have to get this lenssss great images quality
amazing job!
Thanks you man!
Dope Effects 🔥
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the specs. I use Canon L Glass and have been wanting to see what Rokinon's EF lenses look like with a Speed Booster on the GH5. Respect on the Cinematography & Editing.
Thanks, really appreciate that! Rokinons are seriously the best budget lenses. (Imo)
nice work man!
Thanks bro! Really appreciate the support!
Very beautiful! Can you give us some insight on what your FilmConvert settings looked like? I'd LOVE to get some colors like that! I can't seem to get FimConvert to work like you have. Thanks for posting!
Brandon Bianco Productions I honestly don't remember it was so long ago. Which I realize is a super unsatisfying answer. But what I typically do is use the second film stock from the top, I don't remember what it's called but I know it's the second choice. With the color wheels I usually move the shadows towards teal, midtones toward orange, and highlights towards gold. So pretty typical there. I'll adjust white balance and saturation as needed, but that's about it. I honestly really only use filmconvert for the grain at this point since I primarily grade in davinci.
Great shots, would love to see your process on premiere to get the images looking so psychodelic-dream like, especially at 0.45 seconds.
Thanks.
That shot has a lot of chromatic aberration added in post as well as a slow scale in to give the zooming effect.
could you please link us the adapter you bought . Thanks it was dope
Very nice video. What is this kind of "distortion" effect you used in the beginning?
Chromatic aberration and rgb separation.
Nice video man! So when using 85mm with GH5 wih stabilisation on, is it usable? or the monopod is a must have with this lens?
Ante Šušnjar Koko really for any long lenses you need stabilization, for this I had my zacuto base plate, to get my hands off the camera body. But anything like that will do.
Hey wanted to know whether in camera or out, did you use any noise reduction software??
Blind Hearted No noise reduction.
Do you recommend using the native MFT mount Rokinon Cine lenses or with metabones? as some ppl wonder too..
Personally I like the metabones. More depth of field, goes about a stop faster, closer to the actual focal length. The real reason I got the metabones though was just so I could use the canon lenses I already had. With mft lenses you have to think in your head that you're doubling each focal length, 14mm becomes 28mm. There isn't really a wrong answer though, It's all personal preference.
Did you use the Metabones Speedbooster Ultra 0.71x to use the Rokinon 35mm and 85mm? Does it work with the Ultra version? :)
Forgot to write that this test looks beautiful! The look and atmosphere that we see here is absolutely amazing. You have graded it very well! Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate this video. Just ordered the GH5, and I am looking for lenses. This video made me thirsty for the 35mm and 85mm!
Thanks! Well I actually use the metabones "S" version. It's discontinued now, I got it back in like 2014 or 2015 for the gh4 so I could use my canon lenses. But I imagine the ultra accomplishes something similar (greater depth of field, faster T/F stop, and reduced crop). Have fun with the GH5!
What effect did you use for this, looks great
I used a variety of red giant effects. RGB separation, chromatic aberration, heat wave, tilt shift, etc. And basically mixed and matched things.
Do You use here compose in AE or what kind of effects?
All editing and coloring was done in adobe premiere!
Are you able to get a wider aperature than t1.5 on the manual lens with the speed booster or is 1.5 the max?
Peter K Productions Well I think the speed booster makes it equivalent to a T/1 or something, the lens itself only goes to T1.5
Lawton Meyer oh I was just wondering if it shows below a 1.5 on the actual camera? Because I know on auto lenses it will drop below the lenses lowest f stop but I wasn't sure if it was the same on manual lenses.
Peter K Productions no, on the manual lens there's no reading on the camera. You can only control the aperture by hand.
Lawton Meyer ahh I see, thank you for the reply!
That Speedbooster should make the 85 roughly a 121mm f/1.1, right?
Casey Hardman It's either 121mm or 119mm I can't remember. Rokinons have T stops and I think it bring it to 1. I'm not positive though.
@@LawtonMeyer technically have to factor in the adjusted crop factor as well so it's like a 1.7 realistically
1.7x crop?
Lawton Meyer whoops rushed that shit in my head. gh5 is a 2x crop factor reduce it by .71 and it’s still a crop of 1.4.
Full frame F stop equivalence of a F 1.5 lens on MFT is still a F 3 regardless of how it’s advertised due to crop. When you use a speed booster and factor in the .71 reduction you’re looking at a FF Equivalence of F 2.13
@@JomToons I've been using speedboosters on the gh4 and gh5 for like 5 years now and this shit still confuses me lol.
I also have the 35 mm rokinon t1.5 with a speedbooster how low does the f stop go
Speedbooster makes it, I believe a stop brighter.
How to make the effect at 1:34 - this texture is so inspiring?
Madeira Filmes Red Giant Plug-ins
Hi! i would like to know how you achieved this effect at 0:42?
Azin Baharin It's part of red giant universe plugin. Rgb separation and chromatic aberration key framed along with some scaling.
Looks really cool btw! keep up the good work
Hey I hope you can help me. When I try to set my camera up with my Rokinon 35mm I receive a "lens attachment failed" message. Have you experienced this at all?
What camera are you using? Are you using an adapter? Do you actually see an image or is it only the warning? Rokinons are not electronic so they don't communicate with the camera, they're manual lenses.
@@LawtonMeyer I'm using a GH5 > Viltrox Ef - M43 adapter > Rokinon 35mm Cine Lens. The adapter works with my Sigma 17-50 but when I put the Rokinon on I get a black screen then the message.
Also I am aware that the Rokinon Cine Lenses are manual lol, I used it a lot on my canon cameras thus why they are EF mounts. Thanks for responding. Hope you can help.
@@bobbyhuotari9905 So it's just not recognizing the lens for some reason. I've never had that issue before but my best guess would be it has something to do with the adapter.
Yeah, its driving me crazy cause it my Sigma lens works fine and communicates fine. Its as if the adapter won't bypass the electronics for the Rokinon. Appreciate you getting back to me though.
t1.3 or t1.5 lens?
MarcyMoe 1.5
Are you using LUTs?
Of course! I typically use two luts when grading a shot. One from Filmconvert Pro and another from either lumetri looks or osiris.
Why Cine V?
Because I knew I'd be color grading in premiere and vlog completely falls apart in premiere unless you have an atomos. When I normally grade in davinci resolve then I shoot vlog all day. As for cine V vs Cine D, it's just personal preference. To me the shadows seem cleaner in cine V than D. And since you're not getting full dynamic range with those profiles it doesn't make much of a difference to me. If I'm going to shoot flat, it's going to be vlog + atomos recorder then graded in resolve.
fps?
60 fps vfr.
super interesting video. i dig it. got the same setup, i love it. check some of my stuff out if your bored ;)
I'll check out your stuff anyway! lol
