Longing is an appropriate title for this clip, because for the first minute and a half I was longing to see something besides fuzzy images and blackness.

Nice movie. Nothing to fix since there is nothing wrong with your frame rate's choice. It was YOUR choice and it was great.

You can use multiple frame rates but you might want to export in 24 FPS to keep the video more consistent.

    •  Před 4 lety +1

yes, but you can also export at 60p and have consistency, the framerate doesn't suddenly change.

Awesome work although definitely agree with the others here about the frame rate. Watching in 480p feels better without the high framerate.

There's some very pretty shots in this one and i liked the overall tone of this short! Why did you go for the different frame rates? It messed with the flow of things a bit in my opinion and also how did you make the space stuff? I have a project i'm filming soon and the scene from 0:56-1:07 is exactly how i imagined a part in my project to be. Great stuff!

    •  Před 7 lety +2

thanks. I guess i just loved how fluid and clean it looks, especially for commercial, and sports use. So wanted to try it out on a experimentalfilm, which, i think, gives a fascinating mix between the old and new estetic. If this had been a narrative shot movie i would probably not have used it though. The space stuff was a bit complicated and took me a really long time to figure out. I rendered 2D images of clouds in Blender and mixed it with real smoke i filmed in 90p in front of a dark background (you can slow it down in post with frameblending, doesen`t matter if it warps) and some fractalnoise in aftereffects. Then I animated the whole thing in 3D with aftereffects. It`s really hard to make it look a vast as it should be and i learned that showing less( keeping things in the dark) can get you a long way.

Hi there... I love the GH5 now because of you. Can you tell me though how you got that sound to be so clear???

    •  Před 6 lety

Hi Alenxandre, It's all from soundlibraries or foley. Very few things are recorded with a seperate Rode shotgun mic.

  • @angryrabbitproductions1690

Great work! Could you please elaborate on the anamorphic setup that you used?

    •  Před 7 lety

we actually used a really simple homemade mode. Just cut an ovalshaped hole into a black piece of paper and tape it to the rear-element of your lens. Make the hole as big as possible to avoide vinetting and make sure to allingn it. You will loose a lot of light, but it can get you a long way, if you are looking for an anamorphic look. This method will give u a really vintag inperfect lens look and the breathing bokeh of an anamorphic lens. This way you can avoid distracting anamorphic flares.

thanks, it`s recorded in V-Log L, normal sat/cont/noise. Just tried to overexpose by at least 1 stop.

    why 60fps?

    •  Před 5 lety

Its a post production error, footage was mostly take at 180 fps and i realised to late that i converted it to 60fps, still i dont think it makes too much of a difference since the original was already captured at a higher Framerate.

Dude... you used Malick´s Tree of Life Lacrimosa scene in like: almost half of the short film. That really shows lack of imagination, it´s also called plagiarism. Ridiculous.

    •  Před 6 lety +3

Dude... I used my own version of malick's tree of life scene for almost half the short film. It's also called taking reference or beeing inspired by something. But i see where you come from.
