- "Mappa, where is YoI?" has been a question of conversation within the Yuri on Ice fandom for almost 7 years now. While there isn't a lot to go off of, I decided to compile the facts and speculations together into one video.

Omg love this Yuri on ice was a female directed Project so it makes sense that they got overlooked as soon as they could capture a male audience. It makes me upset to see it happen this way
I feel like the only way we will get a movie is if we stay positive and keep pushing for this movie. I personally really want this movie to come out. I'm not going to stop pushing for this until I get some answers to what's going on. We deserve some answers.

If I recall, there was also the possibility that delays occurred due to Russia's issues surrounding the last Olympics, and then Ukraine. If Ice Adolescence is primarily focused on Victor's backstory, a Russian skater, perhaps the studio wanted to be cautious about releasing the movie during a time where Russia is not viewed positively by much of the world (both in sports and politically).
I do think it was neat that they released some illustrations coinciding with the last winter Olympics though!
I'm still heartbroken that the movie has been cancelled. We all were led on for 7 years, only for the movie to be cancelled because of "various circumstances."
The least they could do is sell show to another animation group so they could finish it 🤷♀️
I think concentrating on MAPPA and the studio is over simplification on the topic. The transition of MAPPA as a studio with Maruyama's departure is 100% a factor - but MAPPA are not the main forces in the production of the series.
That would be Cygames and Avex Pictures - the producers of the series. And it could be simply said that Yuri on Ice's success is not a priority compared to Uma Musume and other gatcha franchises (what are litreally Cygames bread and butter)
Also adding that Sayo Yamamoto was one of the most active people working in the anime industry, you'd constantly see her work on new Ops and EDS (Persona 5 game is my 🔥🔥), but she's been silent for years. I trust that she is cooking. If she wasn't cooking, I doubt she'd stay.
