Summary: On the verge of retirement, skater Yuri Katsuki meets two skaters who rekindle his competitive fire.
Yuri!!! on Ice was originally requested by one of my request tier member's on Patreon. I had such a blast watching it over on Patreon and this is simply a small part of the fun I had!! I am planning on cutting down all my reations to Yuri on ice and posting them onto CZcams for Pride 2020! I hope you all stay safe and know you are loved.

I believe it’s canonical that Yuri and Victor have to speak English to each other, a language which both of them aren’t native to! Which is likely why some key phrases that both of them say are in English. Like “Amazing!” and “Yes, yes.”
Even though the anime is in Japanese, imagining them speaking broken English to each other as they try to work through their relationship makes my heart go uwu
Yuri on Ice doesn't have an official manga. This was all anime only. They did work with a Mangaka who helped make the storyboards, but there still isn't an official Yuri on Ice Manga. They did release a small manga short with the release of Welcome to the Madness, which is the closest to an official Yuri on Ice Manga that exists.
Btw don't skip the ending credits for episode 10 or the season 1 finale there is extra content. ;)

I love how this show explores anxiety and and self doubt, and showing what goes on behind the scenes of these skaters lives. Also, Victor and Yuri are just so precious. I fell so much in love with this relationship when I first watched this, and I hope you will too Zamber. I wish this could've had more episodes to flesh out more stuff, but I'm super happy with what we have. *sending love out to everyone*😊👍🌈💕

About 2.5 years ago I realized I was transgender. I struggled for a long while, told my friends and my sister. Yesterday, I told my stepsister, who was supportive. This weekend, I'm telling my dad. I'm not sure how it'll turn out, and I know my mum isn't very supportive of these sorts of things, so I'm pretty nervous.
It's good to remember anime like this at these sorts of times. Another one I like even more that yuri!!! on ice is 'given' which is adorable, sad and really moving.

My mums still kind of iffy, but we're getting better. My dads called me by the right name and pronouns, and ive never been happier! I told my cousins, my stepmum, teachers ect.
My dads been so supportive, he asked if i wanted to get a binder. I've never even mentioned it (it felt too awkward.)

Since he's Russian, his name should be spelled VIKTOR. There is no "c" because it's substituted by an "s" and "k" depending on the word.
I love that you watched this, this anime has been my comfort since 2016 and watching it now makes me smile without even thinking. I know people love it cause "it's gay!", which genuinely I love that about it too but it just makes my heart happy regardless of that too, so thanks for watching it!

I started really getting into figure skating a year or so before I heard of the show. My friend later laughed at me, ‘cause I had immediately clicked play when I saw it was about figure skating-meaning I entirely missed the bit which mentioned it was a gay rom-com/drama, despite being gay myself. 😅😂

I watched all of S1 of YoI a couple of days ago and I decided that I wanted to learn figure skating (once the pandemic ends). I don't know what'll happen when I tell my mom that I want to but we'll see.

I recommend looking into the sport a lot first. Figure skaters normally start their athletic careers as preteens, having been skating their entire childhood. It’s an extremely expensive sport once you factor in costumes, makeup, and travel expenses (but that’s if you decide to go pro)
If your just learning to figure skate for fun, remember to always stretch and warm up. Even professional athletes skate laps 💛

@@kimikolee7313 Yeah, I likely won't get far then. I'm almost 17 and haven't done anything related to figure skating (although I am a decent basic roller skater and started around 11-ish. I also dance a tiny, _tiny_ bit but was never professionally trained). But I'm still gonna try because I have never committed to anything big in my life and it's depressing to be so routine and still never get anything done!

I really enjoyed this anime:). I know a lot of people just pass this off as another boy love/shounen AI, but I like think it was so much more than that. While I did enjoy their romance in this anime, the skating is what really drew me in.
This show was amazing!
But I got severe second hand anxiety and embarrassment watching the tournaments so it was also torture haha

I highly recommend that you watch Meng Qi Shi Shen. It's a Chinese anime about a renown female chef who dies of blowfish poisoning but her soul is sent back in time and she wakes up in the body of a distinguished lady, who's sent to be married when her palanquin was attacked by bandits, and she uses her cooking skills to manage her way through her new life. There's only 12 episodes but I promise you'll love it (especially if you're a foodie person) and they're working on a second season.
