The new Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 game has only been out for a week, but my team and I have hunkered down ever since to try and solve everything we can, not just about Help Wanted 2, but Security Breach, Ruin and the story of our known characters as well! We even answer the biggest unsolved questions! Are we right?
In this theory we look at exactly what Princess Quest means. Is it related to Cassie's Dad? Golden Freddy? Maybe even Vanessa? How could there possibly be so many questions surrounding one minigame? Solving this my finally help us understand why the Bonnie mask is so familiar the Help Wanted 2 ending, Princess Quest 4.

@@Danzes14 Matpat is stepping away from hosting (voicing/writing?) The theory channel and letting other people host, he will still be in the theory channel but will be more behind the scenes passing on the torch if you will, his last voices video will be on March 9th and there will be a big celebration for him, he is doing this because he wants to focus on his family while doing things he's dreamed of doing like making a game, animation and more coding and stuff like that, he explains this way better in his newest game theory video that was posted yesterday
He’ll still be involved with the channels, he’s just doing less work so he can spend more time with family and friends. I’m happy for him, and wish him luck in his future.
Yeah, it's kind of a sad announcement, but I'm happy he is able to step down slightly in whatever shape or form. He's been in the game for over a decade, and he's done a lot for the community.
I have a different theory about Vanessa being an Afton, in this case instead of her being Wiilam's daughter, she is Mike's daughter?
Like this would fit with her being born in 97, not only that but the memories she has of William could be from the stories that Mike told her about what their relationship was like, and Glichtrap manipulated her into thinking they were her memories .

If she is someone connected to the Aftons, this is most likely. She's too young to be William's daughter - by the time she was born, he was a corpse rotting away in a bunny suit.

I'm with you up until the "Abbey is to show us Vanessa was born later". Personally, I don't think Vannessa is LITERALLY William's daughter - if she were, I think there would be an unidentifiable fourth child in the Staffton room, but we only see representations of the known Afton family unit. What I think has happened, is that Vannessa has been manipulated by the Mimic and given memories (like we're shown he's capable of doing in the PQ4) of Elizabeth Afton. This is also why Gregory has so many parallels with the crying child. What does the Mimic do? It impersonates Afton. What does the Mimic need to TRULY be like Afton? Impersonators of his children; he's finally found a way to put them back together.
If my theory is correct, I wonder if the Mimic may be recreating Michael - or, if not, why? My immediate assumption would be that Afton very likely hated Michael for the role he played in his downfall, or perhaps we just haven't seen him yet.
I agree, I think even if Vanessa was born just before William was spingtrapped it would still make her too old for Security Breach.
As for the Michael question, I was thinking about that last night and thought what if the Mimic was trying to recruit Cassie's dad for this? They may not physically resemble each other, but if her dad really is the Bonnie bulley then he and Michael were not only friends, but have the shared trauma of the bite of 83.
My idea with Vanessa is that she’s actually unrelated to the aftons. However, the mimic believes it is William afton, and so it wants an Elizabeth-like daughter.
When Vanessa is taken over by glitch trap/mimic, the Vanessa persona begins to believe it had Elizabeth’s childhood and that mimic is her father.
The mimic being an advanced technology also changes any records online of her previous life. So when the therapists do a little digging all they find is an Elizabeth like backstory. But if they dig too much they find that it’s all fake, and that’s when Vanessa kills them.
Just an idea but I think it lines up pretty well with how Vanessa is so closely related to Elizabeth.

I do have something else to clear up:
Gregory isn't patient 46. The line in the final tape "You had wonderful parents. A wonderful childhood." proves that Patient 46 is already an adult. Gregory is way too young. Plus, I don't think a pizza place would be hiding therapy tapes from an elementary school. Let alone one of their employees being a patient, since she's not a teacher.
well... doesn't Gregory already have 15 to 16 in Sb? since we have the GGY story where he is 13/12 years old and the story takes place 2 years before Sb?
In addition, we know thanks to GGY that Gregory was a reluctant follower of glichtrap/mimic, in addition to that Gregory was a super hacker who controlled the entire pizzaplex and Animatronics, in addition to killing his school therapists(who were the same as the employees of fazbear) and kill his own classmates with Gram Freddy
I guess you have a point. But, that could be a different story. Besides, the books aren't 100% Canon. The story of GGY could explain certain things about Gregory, but the line I mentioned already confirms that the theory is false. Patient 46 is an adult when the tapes are made, so the mimic had obviously taken control over many people already.
While the Princess most liekly does represent Vanessa, there is no denying that she does have thematic ties to Cassidy, most likely due to Vanessa also having thematic ties to Cassidy. And Stitchline and Tales are never implied to be alternate timelines.
I like this theory bc it implies its not a virus that infected vanessa's mind (whatever this even means) but afton's manipulation causing a personality disorder. Seeing a copy of her father triggers her illness and the mimic/glitchtrap uses it against her.
I think this can easily be explained by the fact that she was posessed by Glitchtrap. Maybe she was chosen by it to be Elizabeth's stand in the same way Gregory is supposeed to be CC'S in its pursuit of bringing the Afton family back. Vanessa can't be William's daughter due to obvious timeline restrictions, she's around 25 when SB takes place, which is likely in 2035. We know follow me takes place way earlier in the timeline than it'd be possible for her to be born due to phone guy's recording in fnaf 3 about all the safe rooms being boarded up
I saw a video recently where this man looked back over the log book and came to the conclusion the fnaf 3 doesn't take place in 2023 but in 2015 by using inflation rates and stuff and the sb takes place in 2023 so it might work but just thought I should mention this.
I think you got something. If SB takes place in 2035, she couldn't really be William's daughter by "traditional means" since he got springlocked and trapped since the 90s and didn't get out until 2023. (FNAF 3)
So the only way there might be a blood connection is if;
A.) William had some illegitimate kid before he died and that kid grew up had Vanessa. Making him her grandfather.
B.) Michael knocked someone up and she's his granddaughter. (Most likely can't be his daughter. He got scooped in the 90s and being a half dead rotting cyborg doesn't really help with getting the ladies or even with fertility.)
C.) The sperm bank. Surprisingly if chilled properly. The tadpoles can stay functional for 50-ish years. If so, either of the two could have fathered her but she'd never know them.
D.) She's just some close relative. Like a niece or cousin.
These are the only ways I can think of that could make Vanessa an Afton in William's direct family line. (Unless she ages SUPER SLOWLY.)

@@Sum_veil in the Insanity Ending in pizza sim Henry's audio file is called HRY223, confirming fnaf 6 takes place in 2023, which takes place after Fnaf 3. We know Fnaf 3 takes place 30 years after Freddy's closes as that is described in the Steam description of the game and we know fnaf 1 takes place in 1993.
Here’s what I don’t get, if vanny is the dark side of Vanessa’s psyche that was made by glitchtrap to obey him why is she being show crushing glitchtrap rather than showing Vanessa destroying both vanny and glitchtrap and finally regaining her free will and control over her mind and body.
Good question! It’s hard to truly understand SteelWool’s intention for this, but it appears to be metaphorical. The alter ego that the mimic created ending up bringing its downfall. Another idea is that to break free from the Mimic, Vanessa needs to harness her old self through Vanny to finally destroy her manipulator, letting that side of herself go.
This is a hard question to answer as we can only speculate at this time.
I personally really like the idea of Vanessa recontextualizing the image of Vanny, taking the image of her at her weakest and using it to stand up to Glitchtrap.
@@RemGames Vanessa could also be a robot created to replace elizabeth afton and maybe Vanessa has the spirit of Elizabeth since in the movie she is Aftons dauther and has blonde hair and Green eyes like Elizabeth
I don't think that's the case, I think the dark psyche of vannessas mind vanny after being free wasn't completely gone and came back to destroy her captor and tormentor
I like to think of it this way: She is too scared and too traumatized to act as Vanessa. But when she is Vanny, she can do anything, so she recruits her darker side to the deed, while her true yet vulnerable self is locked away.
It would explain why Vanny walks away and Vanessa is stuck in the claw machine. She sacrificed the princess inside of her to become a shadow strong enough to defeat Afton. Only question is will Vanny choose good or evil after that.
There is one issue with this theory:
All the Afton's are dead. The mother, who we still don't have a name for, died before they could've possibly had another child. But, let's say they did, and it was a girl. Yes, Vanessa would make sense, but she would look much older than she does. If another daughter did come out of the relationship and she survived, I think it would be more likely for that now orphaned girl to be Vanessa's mother, who knew nothing about her family's history and just so happened to be married to a man similar to her father that has a name similar to it. Basically, I'm saying it's more likely that if Vanessa is an Afton, she's the granddaughter of the killer instead of the daughter. Basically, it's the same situation I proved with Cassie's dad being the son of the Bonnie bully instead of the Bonnie bully himself.
Mathew Lillard basically confirmed in his interview that they were sticking as close to the game lore as possible. So im 100% on board with the movie being canon.

Hey, I just wanna point out that this theory is wrong. No matter what you try, Vanessa can't be William's child. Vanessa is 23 years old and we know that security breach takes place after FNAF6, which is after FNAF3, which is 30 years after a Freddy FazBear's Pizza location closes.
Vanessa's username ends with 97 which could mean she was born in 1997, but some people say it's her birthday 9/7 since we also know her birthday is in September
But even if it's her birthday, in the Insanity ending from FNAF6, we can see it says "HRY223" which could mean it takes place after 2023. And if that's true, SB takes place after 2023, which means Vanessa is born after 2000, after William gets springlocked in 1993.
But even if "223" is just some random number, we know FNAF3 takes place 30 years after a Freddy Fazbear's location closes. And we know they closed after the MCI (some year after the bite of 83 (1984-1986), 1987, and 1993. Which means FNAF3 could take place somewhere in between 2014-2016, 2017, or 2023. If it took place in 2023, Vanessa would be born after or in 2000. If it was in 2017, she would be born after or in 1994. Both where she was born after william dies. And even the oldest possible year, 2014, she would be born after or in 1991. So by the time William dies, she would just be 2 years old. She probably won't even remember her dad being manipulative. And Mrs. Afton probably already divorced William by that time.
tl;dr, If Vanessa was William's child, it would really mess up the timeline.
Glitchtrap isn't Mimic in the games. Glitchtrap is simply Afton's digital copy or avatar. We see Afton's Springtrap zombie form in Security Breach and it's clearly not the Mimic. Vanessa aka Ness was soultrapped during Help Wanted, then in Security Breach she introduces the glitch that allows Burntrap to puppeteer the Glamrock animatronics. Gregory guided Princess (who is probably Golden Freddy) to where Afton was holding Vanessa's soul or whatever, and broke the lock, freeing Vanessa and severely weakening Afton's digital presence. If anything Glitchtrap in HW2 is an echo of Afton, or the last remaining piece of his soul after his body is finally destroyed by Tangle in SB. HW2 shows us the absolute final end of Afton and how Vanny (who is not Vanessa but that's a whole other story) is replacing him. And you know how I know Princess is Golden Freddy? Because the old man in PQ4 is called OMC in the code, i.e. Old Man Consequences. That would imply that Princess is the Golden Freddy from the OMC minigame in UCN.
Edit: I watched more and you say Gregory is Patient 46. Again, this may be hinted at in the books, it's not true in the game. Patient 46 is heavily implied to be Vanny or her accomplice. If it's Vanny, it means Vanessa and Vanny are two separate people. Gregory was just an orphan that took up residence in the Pizza Plex, that is all. He's a clever kid, I'll grant that, but he's no genius hacker nor does he work for Fazbear Entertainment like the patients do. Tape Girl is more qualified to be a "savant hacker". She's Vanny. That's the twist from the rooftop fire ending.
But why she woldn't be depicted along side the rest of the staff bot family? I think she is the princess but not part of the Aftons, becase Grecory was controlled too. If the mimic is coping willian and he is also coping his ideias of puting his family back wold make more sense that the mimic is using Vanessa and Gregory to replace his kids, but this line of thought also has problms with the "someone is a robot" plot so Idk.
Based on Everything In PQ3 being Help wanted related. I think we were Kind’ve doing a reverse, reversing everything that was done In Help wanted and Curse of Dreadbear, Undoing everything Glitchtrap did to put Vanessa under his control.

I believe that Gregory is a Afton as well and he is Michal aftons son because that is why Venessa is always trying to find Gregory she helped raise him and is worried about him.

There's a big problem. Time. SB takes place sometime between 2024 and 2029. Vanessa looks to be in her mid 20s. Putting her date of birth somewhere around 2000-2005. By that point, William Afton was rotting away in the spring Bonnie suit walled up in the secret room in the pizzeria. So, unless there was a negrophilic furry who broke into the abandoned pizzeria, found the secret room, had sex with a rotting corpse inside a rusty animatronic bunny suit, and got pregnant from it - it's really unlikely that Vanessa is William's daughter. Like nearly impossible. And I doubt she's a robot. Maybe she's a Charlie-bot, but I'm thinking she's just a young woman with green eyes that Glitchtrap has locked onto as an Elizabeth standin.
The "who is the Princess chapter". Did I do that? Was u the reason for uts existence? All jokes aside good evidence. I still think Golden Freddy is the Princess (that just makes more sense) but I respect you opinion.

I have been speculating that Vanessa is adult Elizabeth, though the way for that to work would require people to accept the existence of age-activated robots similar to the novels and that's... unlikely to happen lol
Interesting theory. Had great point's, but I think that the movie may be showing us a truer picture of what is real than what the games are. What if Mike isn't an Afton. In the depictions we have for Henry in the official book, he has a son and a daughter. We know his daughter dies. But maybe the mother had costody of the son, or took it when their daughter died. I think that Henry's last name will be shown to be Schmidt and not Emily. I think Emily is her middle name.
I still think it stretch to assume that the mimic is glich trap just because of design similaritys with one arm meanwhile nothing else matches. We know that mondern fnaf trys to not have inconsistent character designs because even designs like run roxys face have been explained to just being a mask cover. So why would they blatantly completely change burntraps design to such a degree.
Also chronology help wanted taks place years before the pizzaplex was built and we know that the mimic was ether brought there in after opening of the pizzaplex or was always trapped in the fnaf 6 location.
Another problem i have with the idea of them being the same is that how dose the mimic AI even get in to the help wanted game code if he is still intact in ruin and how dose the mimic which is only able to copy people behavior be able to perform super natural actions like possessing people or corrupting other machinery.
And then there is the difference in behavior. The mimic is impatient and only desires the earliest opportunity to cause violence. Glichtrap is patient and slowly plans things out like controlling other people and getting his body back and making Vanessa repair it with endo parts.
Lastly were we find the mimic is very important because his is trapped in a seald of room. If the mimic did have the same abilitys as Afton then why didn't he call down any of his corrupted anementronics to help and how did he get so much stronger and faster when we see how slow burntrap was. Also how is would the mimic be still alive if he was soposed to be burntrap because glichtrap gets destroyed in the save Vanessa ending which is the canon ending that leads to fnaf ruin.
The mimic being burntrap just makes little to no sense with all the plot holes and contradictions that pop up when viewed with proper scrutiny.

A large part of the video is trying to prove that Vanessa is William's daughter in the games. which is easily argued with:
Vanessa's father is called, interestingly enough, William A. He is said to be "Bill", Bill is a nickname for William.
Vanessa in SD AR has the surname A. You can argue, as you did in the video, that this shouldn't be used because "it's discarded email", but nothing truly proves that.
Unlike Faz-Facts, which are in fact an unused mechanic of Special Delivery, the other emails are unused emails because Special Delivery was discontinued ahead of schedule.
Proof of this is that on SD, we follow the story of Jeremy "Jimmy", who works in a warehouse that stores delivery service robots. this same Jimmy is referenced in SB, proving that the unused emails are canon, they are just "unused" as AR ended earlier than expected.
also, I noticed you treated Glitchtrap as being The Mimic. I inform you that this is not true, but a theory proven wrong by the official FNAF media.

I believe a good bit of this, atleast that the princess quest machine is vanessa's story and she might be an afton, but I have trouble believing that we play as her in help wanted 2, the bonnie mask looking familar to her because of jeremy doesnt quite hold much water, lose connection at best, and vanny isnt known to be familar with faz wrenches, and it doesnt make much sense in the context of the ending, why would be be looking up at herself crushing afton, why would be become the staffbot ect ect good theory but i think theres too many holes in some places and way more likely candidates.

Huh, well, this was a very interesting Theory, you might be onto something here, though you kind of lost me with how Bonnie was connected in all of this.
Still, this did made me wonder, we really know nothing about Mrs. Afton, do we?
So, who’s to say, that after everything that happened, Mrs. Afton just simply remarried and had another child with another partner? Which then there by lead into Vanessa? We don’t really know Vanessa’s Surname either do we?

Might be wrong but I either saw something or completely made it up rn but it was something about both endings being canon so the ending where we become the staff bot=cassies dad, the ending with glitch trap=vanessa. If the system it used the first time to take over someone’s mind worked then I wouldn’t doubt it just uses the same system again for the next person(especially if it ends up failing after awhile or someone comes in and fucks it up lmao aka the last games). I don’t know Vanessa’s exact age but she’s old enough to get a security job so the voice line “you look old enough to have kids, win them a prize” makes sense for both. Idk if there’s anything that would make this wrong just bc it’s so hard for me to follow along w sm lore and details lmao but that’s just my thought (also I’m typing this mid vid so if this ends up being the theory he talks abt in the video or something pls don’t make fun of me lmao)

What if the reason why the Movie take place in the 2000s is because that when a divorce happen between William and his current Wife? Shortly after was the events of FNAF 3 mini games, they did not happen in 1992-4, they happen early 2000s.
I think the evidence and analysis is spot on, but agree with some of the other comments that the logistics of her being an actual, biological Afton seem a bit sketchy. I think it's more likely (and still in line with the evidence/themes you present) that she is being manipulated into thinking she is an Afton child. After all, William had Baby who was essentially a vessel for his daughter's spirit who did his bidding and wanted to make him proud. It would follow then that the Mimic (or even Afton's spirit if you believe that theory about GlitchTrap) would want to recreate a daughter-soldier to manipulate and control.
Edit: I'm also of the (VERY unoriginal) opinion that we're Cassie's dad in HW2. There are just so many references to him in Ruin that connect beautifully in HW2, along with Carnie's comment about kids.
I really liked your theory, I think we are all a little skeptical about what else will happen in this era, if the Afton family still plays an important role, maybe if they will come back somehow but who knows, and the madness now with Pizzaplex!😅
Honestly, I really think that a lot of this video is quite or even true, Vanessa in my opinion really has the potential to be part of the Afton family, William's daughter!
There are a lot of clues, no matter how small they are, I still think they want to tell us the truth, many say that Vanessa finding Afton wouldn't make sense, but honestly I don't see why, after all it's his girl in the fnaf movie, no I see if this wouldn't be in the games too, we have enough evidence, I mean in the end there could be two Vanessas, NO, I won't start this, not now!😅, so why not?
As for Vanessa finding again in the second VR game as the player, a little creaky, there are many more possibilities like Cassie's father could really be the case, but you never know, even the meaning of the ending could be the same!
I mean, Candy Cadet 's story could also exclaim that in a way, probably!
Honestly what I find interesting and would deserve some attention is the Boss fight with Springtrap in this game, it feels too intentional in a way don't you think?
First phase I ALWAYS COME BACK!, he just does, either by himself being present or in a reference, he always finds a way to still be present here!😅
I find it very interesting that when he is defeated we hear the same sound as at the end of the third PQ as his jumpscare, I honestly don't have an explanation for this right now but I think it's more just because of Glitchtrap's appearance, maybe it's a clue to something maybe related to Vanessa/Vanny from PQ or who knows but I find it interesting!
Now that level can be interpreted in a number of ways but using this video as well, would that level represent a confrontation between Vanessa and her father with Baby???🤔
BUT I think that level would like to show how Vanessa easily manages to escape the fear of her father and maybe she met him in that form in the past!?(Maybe too much but at least it tastes good!😅!)

I think Vanessa IS Elizabeth. There was something from help wanted 2 talking about a little girl who escaped, but was scarred. This is Vanessa. Baby and Mimic are the same entity. They would still refer to Afton as their Father as well.

Baby has no bearing on the plot this entire game, she literally is a side character. The Name Elizabeth Afton hasen't been named dropped once since FNAF 6, and hasn't even been brought up in any of the new games from VR and onwards. She's not referenced at all the Tales Books either, William Afton is mentioned a lot in those books because he's actually relevant since Glitchtrap is copying his actions and taking on his appearance. Baby hasn't done anything remotely important in Help Wanted 1, AR, Security Breach, Ruin, or Help Wanted 2 either. She's always just been there as a call back character.
