Lyrics:
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand as the price you've gotta pay
We'll keep pushin' till it's understood
And these badlands start treating us good
#BruceSpringsteen #Badlands #NoNukesConcerts - Hudba
I was 16. Five of us kids took a the train together from Matawan to the Garden specifically to see Bruce. He came on last, the show ran late, and we were all worried we'd miss the last train back to home but we didn't want to leave. There were hundreds of us from the Jersey Shore, crammed in the exit vestibules, ready to run to the escalators the second he left the stage, but his encore was fabulous and went on so long. Every one of us stayed. Then we stampeded down to the train tracks, terrified that the train would be gone, but it WAITED! It waited for us. They KNEW! :) One of the best nights ever! :)
Hi can I ask you a question?❤❤❤❤
Sure! @@derrickswift4976
As someone who used to work for a train company, we usually would be notified by organisers if their concerts would be running late.
Great memories 🤙

My wife used to have a quote on her bulletin board from the Daily Telegraph (UK): "Is there any sound in popular music that is more exhilarating, more joyful, more uplifting, more life-affirming than that of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in full flight?"
Soooooo true
Gosh hatecwhat u consider really as a joyful song
@@rickleitch1036 I'm missing something ;!!??
And my god there in full flight ✈️ ere
I want that on a t shirt.
“Poor man wants to be rich, rich man wants to be king” ain’t that the plain truth
And the King ain't satisfied, until he rules everything... 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
"and the king aint satisfied till he rules everything"
Can't believe he's 72 years old now. Forever young on CZcams.
Max’s influence on this era of Springsteen’s music is under-appreciated. Huge change in vibe.
Very true!! He's on fire on the skins in this performance & on this tour. It makes a big difference to the whole sound 4Sure!!
I WAS THERE! 26 years old with the audience screaming: "Bruce, Bruce, Bruce" while the other performers were on stage. Bruce was the last act. Was a fan before this show. His energy may have waned a bit, but his lyrics are poetry and music is like no one else. Got me through many nights.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ lucky you
I saw him in Cleveland,Ohio in 1978
Love it!
Awesome - what a gift to had been there!
oh god, so lucky you are, maybe my best Springsteen & E.Street Band best live I ever eared!!!
Holy crap, what a performance
seeing Clarence in his iconic white 3 piece suit always makes me smile .. RIP big man
He's not far away. Too much spirit to abandon us here 😉
Nobody played sax with the presence of The Big Man.
There are three things I can watch forever: fire burning, water falling and The Boss performing.
Wow!! So true!
@@vcallejociao amico!🙋😍😘💘🍀
The young Bruce and E Street Band had the most awesome concerts ever!! They still put on great concerts, but man the energy you felt at the ones back in the 70s and 80s was just amazing!
Saw The Boss 1976, born to run tour. Best $6.00 I ever spent
First concert was in 1985 born in the USA tour. Unforgettable.
Ain't no sin to be glad your alive!
❤
Wow that's what I call music and a wonderful singer
What a fucking time to be alive
My God, this is magnificent! He is actually singing our song!
Bruce saved my life.
Thats all.
The Boss. Timeless. The greatest songwriter in history. Period.
Indeed 🎸
@@jamiemartinez8674 I AGREE
Agree
Listen, back in 1978 I slept on a sidewalk all night to get tickets to see him in a small venue and was a die-hard fan several years before this concert-- but with all due respect, his songbook-- which is amazing-- still pales in comparison to Dylan's. Pretty sure he would agree.
That said, as this concert demonstrates, back in the late 70s and early 80s, he put on some of the most amazing concert shows ever, and as a performer, pretty sure Dylan would agree.
Agreed.
Just a week ago I finally got to see him perform this live and it was with every bit as much fire and soul as this was 43 years ago. Dude is unreal.
With all due respect, no comparison to this era of Bruce. We all age. This energy was unreal to see live.
no way old man
I have never seen a performer work so hard this is unreal I just became a fan
scott i saw him live & boy oh boy that was me in love :) not once did he go off that stage for a break or a change of clothing and the sun was belting down on him but myself & other fans love seeing him dripping lol .. he sung lulu's shout atleast for 6 mins .. the guys a legend .. im loving the idea of his new album in which iv'e prebooked . my gig of bruce is in my files .. his nearest tour to me is on my birthday in edinburgh i am hoping dates come out for hampden park again .. boy he rocked that stadium .. go bruce i say & boy he puts men of his age to shame lol .. he dont look his age & fit & boy can he shake that shimmy :)
@@djangiebaby wow u sound like quite a fan
They don't call him The Boss for nothing.... He's one of the very few mega stars that can wade into a throbbing, screaming crowd ,solo.
Correva l'anno 1978 esce il suo terzo album DARKENESS THE EGE TONW da questo album BADLANS una delle canzoni canzoni più belle di Bruce Springsteen
I saw him in Houston for his Born to Run tour.
Honestly, does/has any artist ever have the energy and passion that Mr Spingsteen has, along with a unbelievable ability to write these songs at that age Truly in my eyes the greatest singer song writer of all time.
From a friend and fan Western Australia 🇦🇺
Bruce is my salvation. His voice, his sound and his musicians are a piece of my soul. I hug you all. Greetings from Italy.
Nice 🌷

elly... beautifully said, and pat yourself on the back for GETTING IT. 👏
This is for the ones who have a notion, a notion deep inside

Such an iconic moment when the Big Man steps forward to take his solo.
Singing his ass off, young and hungry, gritty band. Love this perfomance.
The No Nukes concerts took place over three nights. Of course they were covered by Rolling Stone magazine. The writer said, paraphrasing, that "there was something very different about the third night, palpable excitement, a feeling of electricity that was missing the first two nights. The difference was SPRINGSTEEN!"
Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is a fucking rock star.
Really ? That is barely rock.
But is he also a roll star?
@@bobgordon236 Then what the hell do you call this? It sure aint pop
Extremely intense version of Badlands, man they just CHARGED through this song. This would be on the tail end of Darkness tour, they were out pretty much all of '78, so they were tight as the bark on a tree, but a ton of energy. Bruce and band still had a lot to prove at this point, and prove it they did.
You could say they proved it all night.
man I miss 1979.
I think anyone old enough to say that would agree with you - as I do.
Man was there 15 years old it was crazy !
The VOICE of raw and undiluted rock'n'roll
This was an amazing performance, 79‘s the first of many times I got to see the boss live. Are used to try to explain to people who weren’t Springsteen fans it’s a different type of energy, different type of vibe. I never could properly explain why I thought Bruce was the greatest live performer I’d ever seen. But there’s no doubt in my mind that he is. I will say this though ever since the big man is passed, I haven’t been able to go to another show. I don’t know that I will because to me a big man with so much a big part of the show and the music it wouldn’t be the same without him.
I know this song has become a huge crowd-pleasing fist-pumping chant-along monster, but man I miss the ferocity of these earlier versions.
I couldn't agree more!!
Wow, I cannot believe how good this is! This just further substantiates how Bruce is the greatest live performer I’ve ever seen!

Have you ever seen either of these? Without a doubt, two of the best I've seen him do. He is FUNNY!!

That is just so out-of-this-world brilliant.
I really hope this concert film will be shown at movie theaters just like the original No Nukes movie was.
That would be as close as we, who where to young at the time, could get to experience Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band live in their prime.
This is an incredible live performance of Badlands.
He’s one of a kind and our generation is lucky to be living at the same time as the boss. His passion and songwriting have earned Bruce a spot in the “best of” category that will carry his music and legacy much longer than our short time on earth. Well done Bruce, well done.
🌷🌷
WOW! WHAT DID I JUST WATCH ?.. This is a Man ( and a Band ) that is as grateful as the audience is to be there.. The joy v BBC
🌻 So correct!
Musical genius.
I dont what it is but this song brings tears in to my eyes in a good way. I am only twenty years old and this song touches me. I think if you can write song that are relevant to younger generations almost fifty years later you must be a real genious. Bruce Springsteen music will live forever. Keep on rocking🤘
"Badlands" is the anthem of the working class, pure and simple. It was written to speak to all generations - those that came before us, and rhose who will come after.
To the 20 people who disliked this!! Get off the channel and never come back.
One of the greatest live performances by the band and a genius of our generation.
They are now 50 😂!!! They don't understand anything about music or life !!!🤔
Who cares about them?
We are more Than those dislikes
@@bjornpalsson8761 Sure ! Fortunately !!! 😏

This video feels like a virtual reality experience. Clarence just TAKES IT over the the top
On the sexiness scale from 1-10, Bruce hits an 11. Energy is real.
That was EPIC. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard him play that better. He and they band announced right there that they had arrive finally and fully. His energy foot to the floor yet super precise…Pete Townsend whirling guitar strum flourishes, the consummate frontman…guitar hero…all rolled into one moment. I don’t think he was ever this good again…imho.
Peak Bruce, 78-82
After all these music years (I'm 80), I still return to this most exciting live performance by one of the true greats.
Goosebumps. Every time again.
he always gives it full gas.
First time I heard of Bruce was in an exhilarating Jay Cocks article in Time magazine in 1978 when I was a wee teen. In Singapore, no one knew Bruce it seems in 1978. When I got the Darkness on the Edge of Town, I was totally wowed. The songs of rebellion, affirmation of faith and realism and fantasy with that raspy voice made my life bearable and much more. I didn’t need approval. I had Bruce.
So proud to say I was there....18 years old....witnessing legendary greatness.
How he could keep his throat together for a long whole tour is beyond me
He is possessed
And for, um, 45 more years since this night !!!
Great …lots pure energy !
AMAZING ! What the song !!! Thanks guardian of galaxie to get back this song in front today
Pure poetry. And the energy and performance is legendary.
Doesn't it feel like - because he only had a limited time to play - he puts even MORE ENERGY in each song than he does in his usual 4-hours-shows? He is on fire!!!!
Yes good sir 😁
This was the level of energy he and the band maintained throughout the entire concerts. It was amazing. Saw him 14 x back in the day.
That energy is unreal.
Badlandsssssssssssss.
Micidiale e fantastica 💖🎷🎸🎤🎧🎼
Einfach umwerfend! Auch heute noch eins meiner Lieblingslieder auf jedem verdammten Springsteen Konzert.😎 Komm bald mal wieder vorbei Boss!
THE BOSS XXXX
my legend....I see in Giants Stadium in 1985..i'm Italian , my cousins in New Jersey...Dancing in the Dark is Legend
I grew up in a violent environment, and not everyone I grew up with made it out alive. That weight can be crushing, and one of the only things I have ever known that lifted that weight is hearing Bruce sing "It ain't no sin to be glad you're alive." It changes my life every time I hear it. - Jack McKissen
OMFG! That passion, that energy. And to this day, they give everything to the fans.
This song grabs you by the throat from the beginning and never lets up.
I was there 15 years old...concerts in Madison, WI, concerts every night
Haha… My cousin practically sneaked out for his concerts back then .. his songs brings back certain memories each time I listen to them.. what is your favorite song from his album? 🙂
Thank you so much!❤️✨🇺🇸

I must say that was the best version of badlands I have ever heard. I love this song and I am a die hard fan of Bruce Springsteen and the E street band. Keep rocking Bruce!
Bruceeee!!!
Light's out tonight
Trouble in the heartland
Got a head-on collision
Smashin' in my guts, man
Caught in a crossfire
That I don't understand
But there's one thing I know for sure, girl
I don't give a damn
For the same old played out scenes
I don't give a damn for just the in-betweens
Honey, I want the heart, I want the soul
I want control right now
To talk about a dream, try to make it real
You wake up in the night
With a fear so real
You spend your life waiting
For a moment that just don't come
Well don't waste your time waiting
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Keep pushin' 'til it's understood
These badlands start treating us good
Workin' in the field
You get your back burned
Workin' 'neath the wheels
You get your facts learned
Baby, I got my facts
Learned real good right now
You better get it straight, darlin'
Poor man wanna be rich
Rich man wanna be king
And a king ain't satisfied
'Til he rules everything
I wanna go out tonight
I wanna find out what I got
Well, I believe in the love that you gave me
I believe in the faith that could save me
I believe in the hope
And I pray that some day
It may raise me above these
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Keep pushin' 'til it's understood
These badlands start treating us good
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
For the ones who had a notion
A notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive
I wanna find one face
That ain't looking through me
I wanna find one place
I wanna spit in the face of these
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Keep pushin' til it's understood
And these badlands start treating us good
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
How you doin' tonight?
That's good. Me too
I'd like to do this next song for, for John Hall and Graham Nash and Bonnie Raitt and Tom Campbell
They're the musicians who ah, had the conviction and the energy to, to put this together what we're doin' down here
And I did this for Jackson Browne and, and that little boy
Thank you for the lyrics!!
The greatest Boss song, what energy Bruce brought out on this pure gold song. We will never again have a Bruce, just like a Elvis, Dylan or The Beatles.

The definition of Jersey Rock & Soul .... God Bless Asbury Park, where Bruce turned the water into wine.
So much energy and passion in 3 minutes of music. Awesome.
Another boisterous rocker from Bruce and the E Streeters. I especially loved Mighty Max absolutely ASSAULTING the kit while dressed in a gentlemanly shirt, tie and vest. Class.
Fantastic !!! Can't wait to see the DVD. I've already pre-ordered my Bruce Springsteen No Nukes 2 CD / DVD set. I saw him twice in the 70s, before this concert. Was at the Agora in Cleveland in 1974 and again at the Agora in 1978. The E Street Band ROCKS !!!
growing up in bklyn/queens in the 70's this was as real as it got
Best 15 second sax solo ever
Pure rock'n'roll, simple, static and strong - about struggle and pain, about love and hope.
La energía que transmite es unigualable.
😍
I was there 17th row Center Stage what a night traveled from Cleveland to get there.
If people hadn't seen Bruce Springsteen during the darkness and the River tours ?
They hane never seen Bruce at his finest.
My first experience seeing Bruce Springsteen was the Agora Ballroom and from there on in I was hooked.
I have seen him over 35 times.
In 7 different east coast cities.
WOOOOOWWWW I've never seen him live before buuutttt he's amazing!
Men rise and fall like the winter wheat but some names will remain. Let them say I lived in the time of Springsteen.
This is as close as I will ever get to his 70s live performances
It's actually a 70s performance!

I thank the Universe for being so kind and to bring us talented and outstanding musicians such as Bruce Springsteen an old time favourite. It brings me back in time my teen years. Wow how blessed we all are! ❤
The year i discovered Bruce at 13. Met him at 50 and one of the best days ever. Over 40 something shows Bruce is the soundtrack of my life
43 years ago. Time really flies and life is short. "You spend you life waiting for a moment that just don't come, don't waste your life waiting." 👏
One of the most notable near misses of my life: Bruce played my town that same year. Kids at my high school were so excited, but I was a folkie and had no idea who this Bruce guy was. A few months later I heard Racing In The Streets on the radio. Signed on as a fan when The River came out, but by that time Bruce was getting too big to play venues in my town.
