    Lyrics:
(1, 2, 3, 4) The highways jammed with broken heroes
On a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
But there's no place left to hide
Together, Wendy, we can live with the sadness
I'll love you with all the madness in my soul
Oh, someday girl, I don't know when
We're gonna get to that place
Where we really want to go, and we'll walk in the sun
But till then, tramps like us
Baby, we were born to run

How in God's name can anyone write a song like that at the age of 24/25 years is unbelievable. The greatest songwriter of our age! Must have heard Born to run 20 plus times live, you know what's coming, you know gonna happen, but it still blows your mind when the first and last chord is struck. Thanks for the ride, Bruce.

way back in June of 1984 I was at his concert in the south of France...I was standing next to a very beautiful southern California girl named Carrie at mid field of the soccer field... she said it would be nice to be at the front of the stage ! I said climb on my shoulders and I'll carry you there ! She did and we made it to the stage a song or two before he played this song . When he started to play Born to Run she said that she hopes that Bruce will see her . I said take off your top and he will . She did and as he was singing - he looked and pointed at her and gave a thumbs up ! the whole crowd CHEERED ...

I was at a friends apartment in Boston in early September 1975 and he said to me, " you gotta listen to this guy...He's from New Jersey and he writes some great stuff"
He queued up "Born to run" on the turntable, turned it up and he left the room.
I began to cry about half way through the opening track because I realized that someone had written the perfect kick-ass, teenage/love, rock song.

Lived in Richmond, VA. Class of 75. There was a small, but vocal, group of guys in my class who were die-hard Bruce Springsteen fans. Played his music at every party. I was more of an Allman Brothers/Zeppelin guy.
So during the summer after graduation I get a call from a classmate, he has two seats to see Springsteen at the Richmond Mosque, which seats maybe 5000. He can't go, would I be interested in the tickets? I ask, "How much?" "$6 each. $12 total." So I buy them the day of the show, 8/1/75. Seats are third row, center, on the aisle. He opens sitting by himself center stage, backlist with blue spotlight. No band. Sings Thunder Road. Unforgetable. Born to Run tour. And the small, but vocal group of guys grew by one....

Bruce Springsteen's energy is, what we need today more than ever. Has the strength to speak the truth and is a remarkable and powerful performer. A singer /songwriter in the first place, he always wants to make people think, make people understand. The E- Street Band always delivers him with great sound.. He is a musician of real passion and a rare straightforwardness. Springsteen really one of a kind....

Then I showed a friend Born in the U.S.A earlier this year, and decided to pop on Born to Run and Dancing in the Dark for nostalgias sake. Since then I've clocked over 100 hours, I listen to him whenever I get the chance.
This man just gets me, it's like he was born decades before his time. He's inspired me to try and live my life to the fullest, to actually express myself and my sexuality. To do what I want instead of just daydream.

Bruce Springsteen is absolutely one of the greatest and most incredible entertainers to ever walk the earth! He is one man full of discipline, determination and charisma, and I find it so amazing how he has made such a phenomenal career for himself!
Bruce Springsteen will always be The Boss!!!

he keeps reinventing himself with his looks , and comes up with new songs, and newkinds of music. you will know if you folow his music through tthe years. He said , like his song, glory days, he doesnt want to be remembered for his glory days only and then NOTHING....hE is famous for working hard too and speaks from his heart. when the rolling stones were selling tickets a few years back for $400 each , Bruce's was less than a 100. hE Said because he wants the man in the street to enjoy his music too. he cares...But now hes more than a million aire but still has a mind and a heart and speaks his mind ...

This song has gotten me through the darkest times of my life. Everytime I hear it and see what he's doing on stage, it makes me want to be there more and more. Its because of Springsteen that I picked up a telecaster in the first place. It's because of him that I started music. And it's because of him that I wrote my first song which is gonna be the last song on my first album. Thank you Bruce for all you did for me and for everyone that comes after

1975. Graduated from high school. This was my favorite song--best of the year--I was lucky to have lived hearing Bruce and following his amazing career over all these years. My dear late wife acted with Steven Van Zandt in the Sopranos. Thanks pal: it means so much to me.
