    They tried to stop City with the introduction of Var, they failed, came with added time after 90 minutes, still failed, and now they want wage caps😮😮😮

    The problem with this new proposal is that it will eventually limit the competitiveness of English teams in the European competitions because it will discourage revenue growth by clubs. This would discourage investors and also impact the League, eventually the UK economy to some extent. It feels like they are trying to push socialism to football.
    They also seem to have used a formula to calculate the cap that uses the average of the revenue as an input, which a GCSE student can do better.

  • @SilviaSolden
    @SilviaSolden Před 16 dny +11

    So the large clubs will look to buy a crap player for 50 million from a button earning club and then spend 200 million on a actual player... This is as dumb as it gets

  • @OffMetaProfessor
    @OffMetaProfessor Před 16 dny +5

    So if some tiny club manages to get into the premier league with a 25m budget, half of the premier league would have to sell their whole squads?
    Makes me believe that powers at be would do everything to stop a team like that doing well in the championship.

  • @OffMetaProfessor
    @OffMetaProfessor Před 16 dny +3

    They want rules that make the owners the most money while also reducing competition for the champions league places as those positions guarantee 100's of millions over the long term.

    70% revenue for clubs in Europe 80% for rest or the cap based on bottom team whichever is the lower amount. Something like that.

    This mayhem introduced to help utd and Liverpool rebuilt. Like nobbins said. If they up the lowest team by £50m that means u can spend potentially £750m a Yr. If this happens teams lile utd can ham it in thebtransfer market more than they can do under the current rules.

    They may put out a statement claiming that the money gained from restrictions on players' wages will be used to pay the women teams salaries, development etc. Any arguments against that will make the PFA look like the bad guy. Case solved.

    Utd have the most expensive squad and the highest wage bill on the planet, spending money hasn't been a problem there, it's what it has been spent on coupled with what they have failed to recoup from failed transfers.

    Where's all the unspent money at the top clubs going to go? Sponsorships will keep going up etc. few seasons down the line the likes of Utd, City, Arsenal, Liverpool are going to be swimming in cash with no way to spend it. Bizarre rule change.
    Honestly, this constant changing of rules and getting government involved in the running of things with the "independent regulator" will greatly damage the PL. La Liga, Bundesliga, Saudi et al. are celebrating.

      @@DarthQueefious football is entertainment and like every entertainment industry spending more than you earn is volatile because no industry is full proof. The smallest downturn on TV revenue of let's say the next generation kids think 90 minutes football matches are too long for their shortening attention span will completely destroy most of the prem teams as they are all owned by profit chasing billionaires not the fans

      I'm sure they'll find something to do with that so called unspent money. In an ideal scenario, it would be used to increase wages of minimum wage workers at the home stadiums, reduce ticket prices, etc... But that is not realistic, it will go to the brass' pockets or be used for advertisement
