Idk when i first built frost he seemed like a defensive tanky frame, not someone who onetaps any lvl enemy. Frost is good on his own job. And if ya slap Gloom on his 2nd, he will became early Steel Path Acolyte killer, if Gloom aint enough to hold them, just use Avalance and melee them down. Very good choise until u get some better stuff to handle them.
Frost was my first prime warframe and only recently got replaced by the monkey as my most used frame- he will always have a place in my heart as a fun frame to use for defence.
@@danielendless Quite crazy yeah, whats even crazier is that you took time from your day to remind me of that instead of just carrying on with your day. Did reminding me of that little detail matter so much to you that you just had to point it out?
You know what I'd do with Frost? Make it so his freezing isn't just on abilities, but also letting him inflict an additional stack of cold damage which will also freeze.
If he got a vauban-esque rework he'd be much better. Combine his 2 & 4 into one ability (either being tap or hold to cast) & shift them to his 3. Make his globe a tap or hold cast & on hold cast turn it into an arctic eximus bubble around him. Then shift bubble to 2 so he can do his defense schtick easier. That leaves him with a new ability slot🤷♂️
I think his two should have the ability to surround him and allies with walls of spiked ice that pierce enemies, and on a second cast, the walls shatter and shoot out dealing a metric ton of damage
i wish my favorite popsicle man got a full on rework though, instead of being band-aided by two mods still though is fun, very cold, and can make ice cream out of the grineer, so a very solid 8/10
I like Frost a lot mostly for the nostalgia! I definitely enjoy his fourth ability the most. Also excellent point about the Biting Frost augment being a little underwhelming because enemies already have their armor stripped
If I were to make changes: His 1st is now an AOE Burst rather than a single enemy strikes, much like Citrine's 1st ability. His second now "Entropically Primes" targets in addition to it's previous effects. Targets that are Primed take %health damage from his 1st ability. And for his passive, targets killed by Cold damage have their health added to the bubble. Bam, Frost now has scaling damage, an interesting but simple kit, and self-sustain.
Counter suggestion: 1 is AOE freeze, that's good. Enemies frozen by the 2 shatter on death for a % of their health, so as to encourage actually using your weapons rather than just spam casting between 1 and 2. And make Biting Frost his passive, because the bubble actually already scales a la Iron Skin when it's first starting up, so it's not all that hard to make a bubble large enough to actually protect the objective while also keeping it strong. Just, you know, don't build max range like Sab did.
How about aoe explosion shatter if enemy had any of frost inflicted sold when it died. That as good passive. This video didnt even care about his passive. One for the comedy club.
He already has 100% armor strip, so he really doesn't need scaling damage. He mainly needs more ice armor from his 4 augment, considering the damage enemies deal at higher levels.
Recently took frost back to zariman, and apparently at some point DE made his bubble block thrax unit beams. Nobody was running the node because of the collective trauma they suffered running CC frames on release and encountering rhe new eximus with the "don't let the objective shields take any damage" bounty
Frost hasn't been bad for a couple years now, basically since the helminth system gave him the ability to get dispensary to spam his 4 with no regard to energy, even better than energize. Then he kept getting indirect or direct buffs like molt augmented lowering the strength requirement and then DE increasing the base armor removal lowering it even further. He's A tier now. Still could use buffs to his globe scaling and his icy avalanche augment but otherwise is very solid and easy to use.
Frost was the first Warframe I built and I used him a shit-ton back in the day. He’s currently still my #2 most played, only behind Harrow. Kind of sad to see hasn’t gotten much for changes over the game’s lifespan, but people definitely exaggerate how “bad” he is. I’m glad I’m not the only one who still sees some use in his kit.
Frosts Snow Glove in unironically a powerful nuke ability. It can push enemies into walls, dealing 50% of their max healt as true damage. If they are viral procced, thats a 100% of hp as true damage. Is that a viable strategy? Not really as a main dmg thing, but it sure is great to annihilate a small coridor sometimes.
Main issue with Frosty is a combination of how old he is as well as how everything he does is done better by others and more fun in that regard. He's primarily meant for defense, so it leaves little room to use him elsewhere, and frames like Gara or now Citrine can do more with more and are visually more impressive. Sure, his augments can help boost his damage or improve survivability, but there are still other choices that don't require the mod slot. He's a decent frame if you want something different, but it makes sense not many people gravitate toward him, especially if they're a new player.
i wanna make his three like ivaras arrows with how they shoot out, hold to cast on an entity tap to cast in place. Mixing his one and two into the same thing or making his bubble bomb detonate like his four could free up space for stuff like armor collection where frost would gain a weaker iron skin based on cold procs in the aoe or a scailing damage boost per frozen dude
Frost is the only defensive frame for me. With the right build he's still fine imo. He's amazing with the MIGHTY SEER. I didn't expect the talking socks.....
Frost 1 reworked: Snowball: Frost launches a sphere of ice at a targeted location that explodes in a 6m radius, freezing enemies in range and inflicting 10 stacks of Cold status. Cold status reworked: In addition to slowing afflicted targets, Cold reduces the resistances of health and defense types (i.e Ferrite Armor's Impact resistance is lowered) starting at 25% and capping at 75% (total resistance). Frost, like Ember, needs not only his kit reworked, but also the element it's themed on reworked as well.
I feel like his one should become either a tank buster icicle spear or like, similar to Nova's basket ball of doom, where you can send it out and either let it hit a surface or shoot to prematurely detonate it, and it'd cause enemies hit to take more damage from his other abilities/cold damage. Something to incentivize using them more, or even other weapons like the Glaxion or Quellor's Alt-fire
I feel that all abilities should funnel back into each other if he uses spikes against bubble then the spikes should either travel on the inside of the bubble over and over again or something else
The first ability should create an area effect, like a cryotic leak, that slows down enemies who come into contact with it down to a crawl, or completely with a strength build. And there can only be 1-3 at a time.
The best I could do for Frost is to use Corrosive Projection and Umbral Intensify for full armor strip while throwing Dispensary over his 2 to keep his energy economy up. I’m thinking with a couple forma, I can throw on Overextended and use Molt Augmented to offset the negative strength. Maybe a few shards for extra strength and duration. If his 2 could proc high damage slash, I’d consider using it more
My max efficiency, high power strength and range Frost prime with gloom subsumed on his 2 and archon shards to compensate for duration loss and extra strength was just fun to play. With gloom slow and Avalanche spam due to 25 energy cost, you become winter incarnate with enemies not able to move much. Plus Icy avalanche adds extra survivability with its ice armor that I can easily get back due to max efficiency. And with Molt Augmented, I reach close to the cap for max slow with gloom. Had an amazing time using him after making this build.
He will always be my strange but devious WF to play. Haven't made the goal yet but plan to load him with as many Tauforged Crimsons so my 235% Range CC Frost(With Khora's Ensnare to replace his Ice Wave) can also 100% strip armor. Very entertaining, he will always be in my heart even if they neglect doing anything with his kit rework wise or tune-up wise.
My first true main and I still use him regularly, he's just fun to use ^_^. He does need some help though. Let's see what I can think of to change: - 1st ability: this actually had a use with the arcanes from Deimos where you could add Toxin to it and make it a Viral spreader. Would be nice if they reverted that stupid nerf to those arcanes and make this ability's AoE scale with range (something you're always building for on Frost). - 2nd ability: needs better damage and the current augment needs to be added to his kit with duration increased from 12 seconds to 18-20. I quite like this augment for its ability to provide push-of-a-button Gloom zones that also kinda effect Eximus units if you catch them with the initial blast. New augment: enemies standing on the ice zones take increased damage from Cold, both weapons and Cold based abilities, while Frost and allies standing on the zone gain 300 armor (affected by power strength and has a 15-20 seconds duration when leaving the zone). Goal of new augment is to both buff damage output and provide increased defense for the squad, also makes Snow Globe stronger. - 3rd ability: make it possible for Frost and allies to shoot through these things!!!! Add a hold cast version that creates a smaller version around Frost for his own style of Iron Skin. Also, the knockback effect on enemies when near you while casting Snow Globe needs to be DRASTICALLY increased! Not many people know that using Snow Globe to knock enemies into solid objects like walls causes percentage based true damage. This can be used for one-hit-kill setups but the weak knockback means you need small tile sets for this to work. - Nothing really wrong with his ultimate, it's a great ability imo. So let's look at 2 other augments that need some help: Biting Frost: really good on paper, but in reality it's kinda overkill as stated in the video since it only works on enemies that you can cc with the ultimate and those will not have armor anyway. My change would be to make the requirement just be that the enemies need to have Cold procs on them for the effect to trigger. Would make it useful for taking down targets that ignore the armor strip and crowd control effects of his kit. Icy Avalance: this one just need to scale with BOTH strength and armor and get rid of that weird "need to hit x amount of enemies to refill/increase the ice coats health" thing that prevents you from reaching high numbers with it...
If 1 was an AoE with a solid base radius, I feel like that could at least help him out for the moment. Have that combo into his 4 being a shatter that hits harder if they're frozen by a different ability, give him some VIP killing power.
On my old account, for the longest time I had a base Frost. No potato, no forma, and yet he still carried my through star-chart defense and excav missions with just a Lenz, the Basolks, and a dream. And keep in mind this was before self-damage was removed, so I was guaranteed to die at least once to misfiring my own Lenz shots if I wasn't careful (though luckily a quick backroll out of the cold bubble is able to save you 7/10 times). Yet despite that he was still a very solid frame and worked well in team defense mission runs.
I got frost prime when it first dropped. That was my only frame I used for years. any and every mission I was cold nuking maps before that was even the meta.
Hey. You may not know it, but Biting Frost augment fixed most of Frost's problems when combined with Helminth. A little bit of hint: there are mass-damaging abilities that have Crit Chance and Multiplier. And Biting Frost makes them EXTREMELY good. Especially combined with Frosts's 4th skill. That, combined with 4th's ability to strip armor even from Acolytes - is quite a hefty bonus to Frosty Boi. P.S.:Frost's 2 is SHIT. It's his most useless ability since Chroma's 4. It exists to vex players and force tgem to beg DE for Frost rework. Discard it and unlock Frost's true, MONSTROUS power.
i think his passive should be that co cold decree or embers passive but cold i also think his 3 should have a hold cast that puts the globe on you while also removing the blcoking of bullets
I'm with ya on the 2 umbra's but I didn't go as bonkers with the power strength, just enough to strip armor. Replaced his 2 with thermal sunder for the fun of it.
Frost is in a similar situation to Loki for me. 2 of their abilities work well enough and are useful despite being old, but their other 2 abilities do essentially nothing. But the 2 that work work REALLY well, so... they're still functional, even if they can't delete a map with one button.
How to make Frost satisfying: 1) Build for range and enough STR to strip armor and casting spd (~50%) 2) Use Nourish or another energy Gen helminth, his 2 is garbo anyway 3) SHIELD GATE, HIS ULT IS USED CONSTANTLY AND CAN EASILY PROVIDE ENOUGH SHIELDS WITH BRIEF RESPITE He has a very quick aoe armorstrip that also freezes enemies in place without forcing them to run away (and you don’t have to use a mod slot to make them run away slower, yeah talking about you Terrify). Makes grineer
Give me an augment that lets the frost globe to stay attached on me like a frost eximus does for that wacky ass potential to be a melee slow ball of frost golbe
I feel like itd be better if you can cast 2 or 4 on bubble and the inside of the bubble will contiuously make crystal shards attacking all enemies inside with x2 of the strength of 2nd or 4th skill
Honestly he is pretty damn good if you build for high efficiency. You can spam his 4 to remove armor and his augment turns him into an absolute killing machine. My frost has pillage subsumed over his 2 and with it I never die on steel path.
i have brief respite whacked 2 Azure Archon shards for more energy and replaced his 2 with dispensary now i can solo almost all SP nodes with minimal effort oh and Biting frost is my staple atm throw in some amber casting speed and we good to go.
I will say, he's a pretty good mobile defense option in Steel Path if you spec for a small bubble, since his 4 will flash freeze Sentients while the bubble does have a decent health pool. This prevents Sentients from 1-shotting the mobile defense objective (hence why the small bubble) and makes it less likely they'll 1-shot you when you literally freeze them solid. This was my solution to DE absolutely destroying Limbo.
And here I am maining Frost just because I love his design. That aside, yes, this video is pretty spot on. Frost is not the best warframe but he does do his job pretty well and yeah, some more synergy for his skill would be nice to have if DE would ever give him one
I was gonna get back to Warframe few months back, haven't played it since like... 2015 or something. Bought the parts I didn't have for Frost and Reaper prime and haven't logged back since. I don't know what purpose this message serves, so I'm gonna go back to my tomb.
Not entirely sure how to phrase this but I think Frost is the frame that 'matured' fastest in my collection, from unranked uber-shitor to, the only frame I trust on steel path outside The Circuit. Avalanche plus Nataruk is the combo that keeps me alive when I have no idea what I'm doing and it takes five shots to kill a lancer
I like your idea of his 2 enabling him to accumulate more armor, even if it was a temporary thing. I can see something where X-number of enemies hit with his 2, accumulates big-dick armor value, cast his 3 to use recently acquired big-dick armor value to make stupid-strong globe. Then use his globe defensively like usual, or immediately jump outside his globe, then cast his 1 on globe to have unga-bunga globe EXPLOSION (Megumin would be proud). Creating better synergy between his first 3 abilities. This would also work for his 4, essentially eliminating the need for the Icy Avalanche augment. Making it more of a built-in mechanic of his 4. Cast his 2, hit X-number of enemies, accumulate Y-armor value. Cast his 4, Y-armor value is applied to teammates within range, the rest of his 4 works as normal. Encouraging the player to always use his 2 to "help" his 3 or 4. Something like that, I'm sure you guys get the point. I think these would be things D.E. could easily implement, with very little effort, to bring Frost up--to-date. I always appreciate your videos Sabuuchi! 👍
A mass aoe armor strip that can hit without line of sight is honestly better than what hildryn can do, frost can honestly be very helpful for CC in lvl cap disruption

Not many people know that using Snow Globe to knock enemies into solid objects like walls causes percentage based true damage. This can be used for one-hit-kill setups but the weak knockback means you need small tile sets for this to work.
- Nothing really wrong with his ultimate, it's a great ability imo. So let's look at 2 other augments that need some help:
Biting Frost: really good on paper, but in reality it's kinda overkill as stated in the video since it only works on enemies that you can cc with the ultimate and those will not have armor anyway.
He's the only frame that allows me to solo the archon excavation.
Cold should freeze at full stacks, and i wish Frost could pick up his bubble shield like a cold eximus.
On and off player for years, just getting back into, why the dig at umbra...those three mods I got off the orange camera have been most helpful.
when i hear my man frosts name i cry in corner imagining what my main warframe could be in current day if DE could bless him
I wouldn't mind all his current augments being part of his kit and add four new augments.
Discard it and unlock Frost's true, MONSTROUS power.
i think his passive should be that co cold decree or embers passive but cold
i also think his 3 should have a hold cast that puts the globe on you while also removing the blcoking of bullets
Not only armor arrips but can give you and allies a suto hp bar of ice
0:45 aged perfectly
My favorite part is his prime only gets an extra 25 shield. Pretty based ngl
All frost needs is an Elsa skin
snow globe and avalanche are still my go to for defense lol.
I remember Frost bubble also slowing enemies when they enter but I'm not sure if I'm misremembering that
Make cold inflict frostbite on enemies, either making them vulnerable or debuffing them heavily
Meanwhile me, helminthing away globe on every config.
''Humm, yes. Defence, yes.''
my first umbral forma was put on frost, but now nekros s terryfy has the same range as frost s avalanche.
Frost and the freeze mechanic as a whole needs to have some sort of shatter mechanic that deals aoe damage.
As the (probably idk) last Frost Main:
Thank You
How to make Frost satisfying:
1) Build for range and enough STR to strip armor and casting spd (~50%)
2) Use Nourish or another energy Gen helminth, his 2 is garbo anyway
3) SHIELD GATE, HIS ULT IS USED CONSTANTLY AND CAN EASILY PROVIDE ENOUGH SHIELDS WITH BRIEF RESPITE
He has a very quick aoe armorstrip that also freezes enemies in place without forcing them to run away (and you don’t have to use a mod slot to make them run away slower, yeah talking about you Terrify). Makes grineer
:( I never thought about his head looking like a horse's head(the other kind). Now i'll never look at him the same
Give me an augment that lets the frost globe to stay attached on me like a frost eximus does for that wacky ass potential to be a melee slow ball of frost golbe
Frost: Your frigid wife.
I actually love spammming his 4 with augment to make the whole team invincible
I feel like itd be better if you can cast 2 or 4 on bubble and the inside of the bubble will contiuously make crystal shards attacking all enemies inside with x2 of the strength of 2nd or 4th skill
If give him an augment so that the ball become movable like at eximus, it make him more popular and strong.
Frost will always be my main, my king, my first frame i actually put time and effort to build and farm.
He carries excavations in public lobbies. When your Mongoloid teammates forget that the objective exists you can protect it solo.
Frost is, and always will be, my favorite!
And here I am maining Frost just because I love his design. That aside, yes, this video is pretty spot on. Frost is not the best warframe but he does do his job pretty well and yeah, some more synergy for his skill would be nice to have if DE would ever give him one
0:45 heh, I get the reference
2nd ability looks cool.
I was gonna get back to Warframe few months back, haven't played it since like... 2015 or something. Bought the parts I didn't have for Frost and Reaper prime and haven't logged back since. I don't know what purpose this message serves, so I'm gonna go back to my tomb.
Here’s a cool idea: you know that new arcane from duviri that gives CO but cold? Give him that.
The amount of times I've made frost only to Instantly rid myself of him for space is mind numbing
Get the 5th augment for his 4
Subsume Gauss ability.
Profit
Props to the legends who have the arcane helmets
I love using Frost, one of my favorite frames. His 1 is a bit lackluster, but he's still viable.
I added 3 res shards on max range to total strip, works well for me any place, though his bubble has no hp lol I can spam cast it with unlimited eng.
i need that aklato build for a funny
A mass aoe armor strip that can hit without line of sight is honestly better than what hildryn can do, frost can honestly be very helpful for CC in lvl cap disruption
Frost was my first prime, thanks to a twitch prime drop back in 2018, so he'll always have a special place in my cold, decrepit soul
Just make the wave do like 3 stacks of slow and make snowball do something else or redo that entirely like it becoming a block if it hits no one, letting him wall and then let another snowball burst them.
Frost is my main, and yes I use him in an Avalatch build because it just works
I feel bad for my boy frost
