If I had known you were doing alchemy research I would have suggested contacting Max Derrat. Making videos about the concepts of alchemy used in video games is a big part of what he does. That and deep dives into philosophy and video games.
at two minutes in I had to pause and look something up: that language, in the CCs it's spelled decaman, but, when searching I kept getting redirected to enochian... which is also a cool language but.... do you have some sources? I really want to learn more about how alchemists wrote.

There is a fair amount of norse myth in this game, its actually pretty cool when you dig into it.

@@jbark678 she had a half dog 'brother' (Fenrir). Then there's the whole Gloom Eyed bit, and her one eye closed, which kind of lends to the whole 'two face' ascetic.
Then there was the connection with the underground cities and the God Slaying stuff... I remember more connections but it's been ages since I played the game.
@@radagast7200 the issue with the Gloam-Eyed part is that Melina also has a gloam-eye in the frenzied flame ending, and speaks of bringing Destined Death to us.

This is pretty cool never noticed hom many Alchemy signs/allusions there were in Elden Ring beyond the Oroborous but now that you point them out they seem so obvious.

very well put together video, you kept it linear in a world of convoluted puzzle pieces. I wanted to say, armored core 6 has 3 different endings that add some context to the age of stars, crucible and age of fracture endings. I don't want to spoil one of my favorite games, but it has to do with endless cycles and attempts to break it. And something cool to think about, I think in most souls games, there is reference to some sort of meteor/meteorite with something valuable but also alive that falls from the skies and attracts all sorts of travelers. Examples are the titanite meteor in dark souls, the Xylum in AC6, the meteor that hit a temple in the sky and brought with it onyx/alabaster lords that look like elves in Elden Ring, and the ships that fell from the heavens in kingsfield's setting that brought literal elves with it. But some lore puzzle pieces from other games are used different, Gwyn feared humans as a self propagating species which his kin needed to survive, in armored core 6, its the mutation of a self propagating species of coral that is feared and it's shown in the mealworms, they are aggresive and explode, killing the host and most likely spreading its self. Even Ds2, just like Nashandra, what do you guys think Marika took from the giants? perhaps kinship or something related, I think.
like gold, the video started out small and quiet. but the refining of the experience made this the longest, most wonderful one yet! he had to split the gold into two to go and show us the alchemical process's end product, and i cannot wait for the second half.

Really hope you decide to make more videos discussing the elden ring ties to alchemy, since most of the meat of this video is dedicated to the cliff notes plot

I also just recently had to go back and watch the old Bethesda laser and plasma weapons making no sense videos because of Starfield and well their lasers still make no damn sense and now there are particle beams to boot which also make no sense LOL

This is a rather fascinating lens to view Elden Ring thriugh, and i wonder if Alchemical things will come up n the dlc.
I like to point out that Radagon "married" Merika after Godwyn the golden was assassinated, and Merika shattered the elden ring after Moghwyn kidnapped Mequila. A lot of people miss those details.
