    Great video sir. This is a new radio for me, so this was very helpful for programming my radio through this platform. That said, am I able to also program the KG-Q10H using the CHIRP next platform as well? I was not able to locate this model radio in the available options in CHIRP. Thanks in advance!

    Please share with us the actual cable you use to program the KG Q10H. You mentioned using a non Wouxum cable. I know you said it was a FTDI cable but who make it? Thank you.

    Thanks for the video, very informative as usual. Would programming the GMRS version of the Q10 be similar?

    • @GadgetTalk4U
      @GadgetTalk4U  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Sure. The big difference would be transmit frequencies would be limited to those associated with GMRS channels. Cheers.

    Good content 👍Is there a knowledgeable person you could recommend to give a private crash course on this device -both gmrs and ham? thank you

    Same question. Tell us about the cable you used for programing. I've checked Amazon, none seem to have USB-C which is required to plug into the Wouxun KG-Q10H. I will do Chirp with wimdows 10... Thanks

      The radio programs through the K1 connector on the side, not the USB C cable. USB C is for charging only. Buytwowayradios.com has the red Wouxun cable, or as I mentioned, I found an FTDI cable also worked. Cheers. I just bought one and if i run any other antenna but the 6 meter antenna that came with it. It makes a wind noise while transmitting. So i have to use rhe 6 meter antenna on 2 meters and 70 cm otherwise the radio makes a wind noise while transmitting. Am i the only one with rhis promble.

      Sounds like you need to call the seller. Shouldn't be like that.

      @@GadgetTalk4U I had a similar promble with 2 qyt CB 58 radios I bought. They would only transmitt clearly in fm mode. And they where made for CB.

    CAn repeaters be copied from CHIRP and pasted into this software? I have a few Baofeng and wanted to copy those channels into my KG Q10 to transmit in an EMERGENCY.

    • @GadgetTalk4U
      @GadgetTalk4U  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The Wouxun CPS has a channel import choice that allows .csv files to be imported. I suspect you'd have to do some work to get the columns right before importing though. Hopefully it will be Chirp-supported soon.

      @@GadgetTalk4U chirp already supports the KG Q10 . I have a code written down at my office. I was able to go into RepeaterBook and copy and paste all my local repeaters into my new radio. Out of five repeaters, only two of them seem to be working locally.

      @@GadgetTalk4U correct it is not listed. If you go up and click on help at the top of the screen, then click on load module, then type in 10692 it will open up the modules for the KGQ 10 G and the H.

    7:14 It's absolutely stupid that a radio with 999 channels makes you figure the offset manually and doesn't have Repeaterbook integrated seamlessly.

    • @GadgetTalk4U
      @GadgetTalk4U  Před 5 měsíci

      Most manufacturer's CPS are fairly basic. I suspect we'll have to wait for Chirp integration to get channel imports. Cheers.

      From another users post: "CHIRP does work, go to help, then "load module from issue" then type 10692. Now you can read and write to to the KG Q10H. And you can expand the frequency with CHIRP."
