The latest firmware updates some features in the FTM-500D but most importantly opens the radio up to communicate with the ADMS 16 CPS software that has also recently been released.

Thanks for making this video, just picked up an FTM-500D today and I'm working out how to provision it.
It would be nice if someday Yaesu made a way for received C4FM-received beaconing information similar to received APRS messages to be exported via the DATA port or bluetooth for use on third party devices.

I understand that PACKET is some sort of digital information sending (?) How is it used and what do people do with it? Is it like text messaging? Or something else??????
