A response to a recent video from "The View" which got unbridled applause for saying "men are useless" and a discussion into why it's human nature that this can be said so brazenly on public television without repercussion but the opposite could not be. And, most importantly, what to do with the fact that some people will judge you before they know anything about you.

As a woman, I highly disagree with every word that came out of these women’s mouths. It’s incredibly disheartening to see anyone being spoken to in that manner it’s disgusting really. I hope her husband divorces her. I’m shocked that women are saying this in 2024. It’s so backwards.

As a young man (26), I am 100 percent worthless. I don’t mean anything to anyone I’m not blood related to. My only value is attributed to my degrees, certifications, income, and listening skills.

Every value is subjective, including your own. Personal value should also be differentiated from economic value and SMV.

My experience only: Women 100% keep the home life together. In most relationships we do all the cooking, cleaning, kid care, celebration planning, activity directing. It’s exhausting and men just don’t care to step up. My ex went to work and came home. The magical laundry fairy made sure his clothes were washed and ironed. The food fairy made his meals. The soap and grooming supplies magically showed up in the bathroom. Christmas morning was just as big a surprise for him as the kids. But I still would not want my kids growing up without their father. Men are important but they don’t contribute a lot to household running or offer much emotional support in general. I say this and I love men but singledom is easier for women.

There isn't any rule which says that men must not contribute much at home. Sure, if only one person is working the other should take on more of the non-work tasks, but women in their peak fertility years always have many options of men to choose from. If they choose other factors as more important than how much he contributes at home, that's on them. The men who like to help out at home may not seem as hot or exciting, and they may not get the admiration of the young female friends group as much, but plenty of them exist.

@@busybecomingmyself yes, I completely agree. I should have demanded more but I chose harmony over conflict. It was exhausting but I wanted to be with my kids. I don’t think it is so much that women don’t think men bring anything to the table it’s that men that ascribe to traditional ideals of the roles for men and women mean women do everything while the men come home and prop up their feet and get waited on.

Most women would not let their man to keep the household as they want, and expect him to be a kind of servant to the family. Make the rest. After two weeks with steak and beer you will probably love to cook again 😂

I'm sorry about the clip video, but I totally agree with you, GenRN! I found my separation being so much better than my 10 years of marriage! It's too exhausting to do things in marriageas a singke mom! Being breadwinner alone doesn't make the men as a good husband, which we women can do that as well! Things need to step up.
