Not shown in this video is a feature that alerts you when the battery gets weak, BUT the quad WILL NOT return to home if it's within 300 meters of homepoint! (What???) 300 meters is a pretty long distance but I'm guessing MJX decided that if the quad is within 300 meters, "you can bring it home on your own!" (What???) When the quad reaches critical low battery (within 300 meters of homepoint) it will land in place without any pilot input! NOTE: If you're beyond 300 meters when the quad reaches LVC, it will return to home and land. More disturbing news. It can’t even lift a 2 axis gimble with camera, even with those large motors. Does the included camera have any EIS stabilization?

Thanks for the honest and brutal review. Yea the Bugs 3 Pro does have some limitations. I think it's silly that you can only access features like point of view etc on the app and their proprietary camera rather than with the quad itself. By the way, my B3 Pro can lift slightly over 211 grams for 6 minutes. That's more than I expected.
...and I bought a Bugs 3 on your recommendation way back then and I am glad I did. Thanks to you! And I still am flying it, many crashes since. It just keeps on going.

Soul Man! Like your channel and had a question or two. I just got a visuo 812 and waiting for your follow up from your first review on it. It will be the first flight as I have never flown any RC yet. The reason I am posting here brings me to the question on action camera able birds? I have a Mijia 4k already and want to get a gps bird to use it with. I figured I would add a FX798T for the fpv so which bird do you recommend that will do the job and still give long range and flight time? I know I could spend the money on a DJI and be done with it but since I already have a 4k camera and no experience why waste the extra cash? The way I figure it is if I crash the bird what are the chances I lose every component? I would still have something good in most cases to start over. So what would you do or recommend and when will you post your next review on the visuo 812?
Depending on your budget, and the modifications that you're planning to do, I would suggest the old reliable, XK X-380. I've done many many reviews on it in the past and I highly recommend it as a big powerful camera plattform. of all the bugs which one is your favorite? as a camera bird or for sport flying?
My favorite is the original red one you see on the floor next to me in this video. It has the short landing gear on it for sport flying but I can also put my Mobius Mini Sport camera underneath for shooting great video. I also have a black Bugs 3 with long landing gear on for using a GoPro style camera... so I guess my favorite Bugs is the original versions!!!
I am actually very happy with my Bugs 5W. But afraid to fly in strong wind since it is light-weight. That's why I was thinking to buy Bugs 3 pro. I saw in many youtube reviews, that original C5000 or C6000 camera is not better than the small camera from Bugs 5W. I can tilt the camera at least with Bugs 5W. I understood also, in using better camera such as GoPro, I will not be able to make 100% use of the App on my phone, is that correct?
Yes, that is correct. The 5G wifi transmitter is located in the camera, as such, the same as your Bugs 5W. If you remove that camera, you won't have the follow me, circle me or waypoint features!!! Good luck, thanks for watching!!!

Someone else reviewed this and said the heavier camera made the bird shake more. I think you are on the right track swapping out the props. Keep on tinkering and let us know what you figure out. Maybe bind it to the Jumper and see if the performance and range gets better.

That is exactly the reason why I still fly my Bugs 3 and my Bugs 2. I know that it is still toy-graded but didn' t hear the word coming back in the review... maybe have to check again. I personally think that you hit the nail with this review/update/impression. On the other hand I wiss alot in your previous review and this video about this kind of Bugs3.
Example1: if you buy an SUV - KIA SUV then the manual that you definitely could use for a high level review and eventually further tests consists of different sections and also in very importance de technical side of the vehicule.
Example2: when you buy a 8th Gen portable (read: notebook) then you first check whats under the hood, what microprocessor and system (=bus), how much calculation power and quantity of cache, SSD...
And this is exactly what I miss in the reviews of today. This is NOT ment as kritisism it is an overall global fact.
Questions like why this quad is called MJX BUGS 3 PRO maybe got a technical explanation, but no reviewer makes a comparission or just lets say a hint nor do some supplementary querries to the manufacturer to give the subscriber more insight in depth. I think there is a market for this because among us there are lots of engineers, bachelors and other graded/non-graded technicians and hobbyists I think.
Or has the name PRO chosen only for pure marketing purposes. There is no problem with that, in the automotive industie people do that alot. Soit, quoi qu'il on soit, thats a bit what I miss in the reviews of today, to go in more depth these are the mistakes I think which also are made. Apart of that I realy like your impressions on the Bugs 3 Pro and thank you for sharing. Cheers & Like #80. Robby Bugs3 CH.

so i ordered the bugs3 pro, of course there is no reseller in my country so it will come in from china.. if they should be smart enough to plug the battery in and it is fully dead... how did you manage to bring it back from the dead? also could you show us what and hpow to change the motors??
(to change the motors:) Once you have the model in your hand, do a close examination at the motor pods and you will see that the motor removal is easy to see and pretty much self explanatory. I was able to save my battery by using a cheap, "non intelligent," toy grade balanced charger to get enough power into the battery to bring it up to a high enough level to later use it on my pro grade battery charger! thanks alot, i should have explained the motor thing a bit closer. im thinking about replaying the motors with stronger ones as i want to ass a actioncam but also using my 3way gimbal. since i got no clue about esc's and those that are in there especial what motors can the build in esc's handle
DJ is right, Also I might add to have a pro charger that enables you to charge each individual cell up to the min 3.4v and once you get the cells up they can be read by the stock charger, or just continue and charge it normally with the pro charger.

Yes, it's a pretty nice quad, has all of the characteristics as the original Bugs 3, altitude hold works great without restricting it's speed. I'll take it over this one any day!!!
Exactly the conclusion I thought you would come to , I've watched a few videos on this and everyone is saying the same , why they put bigger motors but killed the power makes no sense , and why would they not put some sort of gimbal if it's strictly a camera quad ? Yes my bugs 3 pro came delivered to with the battery in the drone the battery was completely dead really didn’t think I could revive it but after a day and a pit it did come back to life I was not happy at all I had to turn off the charger from time to time cool down believe me the charger got very hot scary stuff
Wow!!! I couldn't believe it when I got mine. I thought maybe it had been used, returned and then sold to me. Where did you buy your's? (just curious if the store is doing this or is it MJX???) When I received my second one from GearBest, the battery was wrapped in plastic and worked fine! thanks for the feedback brother!!!
SOUL FORCE QUADS I got mine from eBay seller is China store really not sure if it was customs for the over seas to the uk cos it was opened to see content I really just don’t no I wasn’t happy at all but I’m happy I’ve got the quad and now is all working the battery seems to be ok now thank goodness for that but took so long to charge way way more than 5 hours lol I’m just loving all ur reviews on the bugs series mr soul sir 👍👍

I just got the ORIGINAL Bugs 3 and love flying it. I lost connection about 40 meters out to the controller she came down. I think my problem might be having Gopro connected by wifi to cell phone.
Do you think wifi signal might have to do with drop out?
I love the bird otherwise!

Yes, for sure the wifi transmitter in your GoPro caused interference! My Xiaomi Yi camera, which I bought a few years back, so I could use for FPV, has brought down some of my best flying birds before I discovered "the camera did it!" LoL!!! Try doing a test without camera attached, sometimes the camera's transmitter is sending out signals even if you're not watching the video on your phone. You can still use your GoPro, just make sure to turn the wifi off. Good luck, thanks for stopping by buddy!!!
SOUL FORCE QUADS fortunately the bird came down in a patch of grass. There was a parking lot and swimming pool which would have both done some damage.
I didn't see where it came down and can't remember the last time my adrenaline was pumping so much. I fly off the top of a 12 story building and thought she was gone... Once again, I am convinced GOD exists... POW! ☀

Thanks for another very informative video. I have a couple questions and a comment. Why did you perform these tests without using the factory props that came with this bird? How do the 501 props compare to the factory supplied props relative to pitch, diameter, and blade profile? I’m asking because any differences, even small ones, can have a measurable influence on run time, lifting ability, and stability. I don’t know if there is any differences between the supplied props and the props you used in your tests, and I don’t know if the factory supplied props would improve or worsen the performance-but it would be very interesting to see. Thanks again for this and all your great videos.😊
(there's a lot of annotations onscreen, so you have missed it) The first flight videos (9:20) were shot with the stock props and the quad had lots of virbration, video appeard to have waves. The Hubsan props are identical to the Bugs 3 props, so I thought I would give them a try in the second flight test, thinking the Hubsan props may be better balanced(?) Can't tell for sure, I don't have a prop balancer but looks like the Hubsan props performed about the same, maybe slightly better! Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks

However, after watching both first and second flights twice, it looked to me like the first flight showed a small bit less vibration than the second flight. Just get a no limit drones hacked spark or mavic mini. No limit drones removes altitude limit, speed limiter, no fly zones, more radio power 1.2 watts with 2 mile range. You can take the spark up a mile and 2 miles out! The mavic mini does twice that 4 miles and 2 miles high with hack because it descends and ascends much faster

Great review bro, normally with lower KV motors, you are able to run bigger propeller's, try some triple props, I know that the only thing that may happen is shorter flight time, give it a shot, POW, can only try it bro👍

The 8 inch triple props should be perfect bro, i have found that using 10 inch triple props on my tricopter running 30A ESCs and 1000KV motors seems to fly more stable than with 10 inch double props but the trade off is with slightly less flight time, I run it on a 3s 5000mAh battery.

I searched for "Bugs with gimbal". It seems that no Bugs can lift a gimbal for more than 3 minutes. I Think Bugs is the wrong Plattform for These things I like to do.

There are many youtube videos showing the original Bugs 3 lifting gimbals without any problem. Some Bugs 3 owners get around 7 minutes flight time with a gimbal and action camera attached. However, there are also some people who cannot get their Bugs 3s to lift gimbals and cameras at all.
Okay I have a question, why is everyone comparing this Bugs 3 pro to the regular bugs 3. I hear comments like it has bigger motors but they powered them down and it's not nearly as fast as the bugs 3. In my opinion you are comparing apples to bananas. I mean why would anyone expect the bird under GPS assist to fly like a high-powered sports flyer? Both of these aircraft were designed for two distinctly different purposes. I just got my 3 pro yesterday. It hovers rock solid steady in a moderate wind at an altitude of 400 feet. Try doing that with the regular bugs 3. If you can you are one hell of a pilot. If I am misunderstanding something about all this someone please help straighten me out.
The quads I currently own are the MJX bugs 3, bugs 3 mini, bugs 3 pro , Traxxas Aton and DJI Phantom 4 pro.
The reason everyone is comparing this to the original Bugs 3 is because MJX labeled this a Bugs 3 "Pro," so it's appropiate to compare a Pro version of a quad to it's standard version, i.e., as to compare a Phantom 3 Standard to the P3 Pro!!! - get it now? It is a Bugs 3 pro simply because the company calls it that. Kinda like you respond to the name your parents gave you..(unless you respond to someone elses name ha.) The tester did tons of circles and said look at the screen.. are you using it as a yardstick? Nice guy... (not calling you guy)
Music took me back to the 80s tho...
OK at 147 meters 470 ft. it lost the camera but worked fine and returned fine. What do you expect for $150.? I love it and own several other drones including a bugs 3, go-pro karma with the hero 6 camera. Bugs 3 pro (what it is) is a great beginner TOY drone well worth it's cost. Especially if you do more than circles as the tester did..... Constantly....
When 9 out of 10 reviewers say it a great ( not best) drone and one says "this aint no bugs 3" and leaves a poor review then just be scientific and discard the best review and the worst review (this one) and go from there...
Followed your advice and took a root beer out of the fridge, no popcorn. I like your hat buddy 👍 Though, the MJX Bugs3 Pro gets classified by me I guess. It has no range at all and delivers shaky footage. My Bugs2C is way better for that! Meanwhile I fly my Bugs 3 much better too 👍 I was honestly thinking that MJX this year would come out with something that even would be better than the 2C concerning range. Does not look like it. Great video DJ. Frank and to the point. Looks like something they [MJX] rushed to market. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. I could see some of these taking a dip in some ponds not making it back in time LOL. Oh. And you hit the nail right on the head. I still think the bugs2 series [of which I have 2] is one of the best low budget GPS quads around.

ehm this drone is meant for video its more stable can have wind against it and fly longer so you got plenty of time to make a good video so dont forget to mention for what purpose to buy a drone cause drones are a big diffrence in that i got diffrent drones myself from visou to syma and some more my syma drone and bug 3 pro b3 are my video capture drones other drones to have some fun with :P also i changed the mount on the bug 3 pro so i can put my go pro hero 7 in it and thats a pretty heavy action camera and it handles just fine but i got the bugs 3 pro b3 not the normal bugs 3 pro

Okay now I get it because of the name Pro and standard. Perhaps they could've done a better job by naming it differently. I'll admit I didn't pay much attention to the names, I just read and reviewed all the specs and compared those and came to the conclusion they were two distinctively different products. My mistake.

The Bugs 2c is a great low budget GPS quad. Hell I ordered two of them. Slap a TX-03 AIO camera on it and you have yourself a fun little worry free bird. I take more chances with it so I don't have with my mavic LOL.
So after I order the 2c from Gearbest about an hour later I go to Banggood ..WTFart they got it on sale for 107 bucks.. just can't win think I'll have Cavaliers branded on my forhead

I wanted to like this one, but after seeing a few reviews including yours of course. I’ve come to the same conclusion, this one is a pass. The OG original BUGS 3 not only flies better, but take smoother video. You don’t use the ‘Pro” moniker on a drone that has more shake and roll than your base model. I agree with your advice, if you need a GPS BUGS just get the B2W from last summer. Thanks for doing a honest review, pointing out all the issues this drone has, and not doing any sugar coating of the product. The summer of new MJX BUGS drones has been cancelled.

Remember earlier this year, you told me about all the new quads on the MJX website. This bird was pictured and listed as the Bugs 10... I guess they thought it would be a big seller by naming it Bugs 3 Pro... what a mistake that was!!! Thanks buddy for the feedback, and yes, I've seen the videos of guys trying to add a 2 axis gimbal to it and the bird wouldn't stay up!!! POW!!!
Well, not much good to say about this MJX offering. They should have named it the "Bugs 3 P" (and the 'P' would stand for pathetic!). First off, glad to see you drinking a decent brew (Heinie) .. not that cheap, tasteless yellow water that Bud/Miller/Coors sells. If its not 'craft' or 'home brew', then Heineken's or Sam Adams are both very nice. The stock props were obviously unbalanced, as there was jello and 'a whole lotta shakin' goin' on!' Could it be that MJX has gone into the typical toy grade "Hey, let's throw this crap up against the wall and see if any of it sticks!" mode? Those big, slow turning motors should have good torque, so I'd try a much larger prop .. maybe even a DJI P3 prop if it will fit (or the XK X380 stock props). I think you should go to that online site that sells all the "Crazy Socks" (you know, the ones I'm talking about) and wear a different pair for every review. Then you could point the quad at yourself and say: "Hey guys, how do you like my socks today?' LMAO! Really though, "It is NOT AMAZING" pretty much sums this one up pretty well. To be frank (no, I'm really Bill), I wasn't that impressed with the Bugs 5W either. Hey MJX ... It's QUALITY we want, not Quantity! Anyway, your video wasn't too long .. watched a 47 min. one from Dustin Dunnill this AM which was REALLY amazing ... grab a couple of Heinies and do yourself a favor and watch it .. great video. Yes I did see last week's video where you talked about this video coming soon. It's a shame that manufacturers concentrate so much on the oh Mighty Dollar they forget about putting that same energy into their product. I have seen a Video where 3-blades-rotores are used, which should give a better Power to the 3pro, which makes it ables to use a gimbal for up to 6 minutes.
Anyway, the 3pro is a bad and overrated Bird.

You may enjoy it, my only beef is calling this a Bugs 3!!! It's not a bad bird, just a little too slow for my taste and shorter flight times than a typical Bugs 3. Good luck buddy, thanks for watching!!!
