  • It can be all too easy to take your foot off the pedal when you are feeling demotivated and potentially even stressed, especially at the moment for those student nurses who have had their placements canceled. In this video, I go over:
    - How to stay up to date with the situation
    - Ways to stay motivated
    - New ways to learn
It is so important to make sure you have relevant up-to-date information about situations in your university and hospital, and that you get that information from trustworthy sources. Stay in touch with your personal tutors, link lecturers, and make sure you understand the policies and processes that change so quickly at the moment!
Staying motivated is hard at the best of times, but I put together a few points to help those of you that have been told you are on 100% academic practice for the next few weeks. Nursing school is about getting into placement and experiencing the role of the nurse for yourself. It just is not safe for some students to be in some hospitals right now, so please keep that in your mind that this is about your safety too.
The last thing I discuss is finding new ways to learn. There is so much information out there in a variety of formats; youtube videos are a great source of information (just make sure it is factual - always a good idea to learn about what is in the video in a textbook first, so you have reference points to the information).
Stay safe guys, and take care!
