- After many disputes from one country in this group, I’m so relieved to share it with all of you. Enjoy my reactions to Finland, Cyprus (clip removed per Cyprus’ demand), Poland, Serbia, Lithuania, and Belgium. The Roop is actually participating in 2021, with the song Discoteque. Which in 3 days had 1.3 million views. It is now in the leading polls to even win Eurovision song contest in 2021.

The Roop was my absolute winner of 2020. I'm so nervous for them this year, I hope they win their NF. I want them back, because Discotheque is just as good as On Fire. It's possible Lithuania could be my favourite for 2 years in a row (of course I can't be certain until all the songs have been released)
Finland is my second favourite of this group. Aksel is back this year for the NF and while I would love to see him back, the competition is soo tough in Finland this year. I want _three_ of the seven to win.
Loving that Poland and Serbia are both in this group. I'm also patiently waiting for the group with Samanta Tina's entry, which was an absolute personal favorite as well haha.

I think one (of so many) reasons that 2020 was so depressing and suffocating was that it felt like there was nothing to look forward to, be excited about, or have hope about. When seeing your videos and others' as this eurovision season starts, for a little bit it feels like being transported to a better time and that feeling of excitement comes back, as well as feeling more connected with other people, so thank you so much for that
Finland was so good last year. Aksel’s back in this year’s Finnish selection. You should give that song a listen. It’s a good follow up to “Looking Back”

Finland was one of my biggest growers last year (together with Croatia, which I can't wait to see your reaction to!). ❤️ Also, your face during Serbia's song = officially iconic. And the fact that Lithuania's dance isn't even the strangest of Eurovision 2020!

For me being Lithuanian to see your reaction is a MUST! 😄 Glad you liked The Roop last years entry, even though I have to admit I was rooting for other NF finalist ("Monique-make me human" if you're curious 😂) but On Fire grew on me and than it was so sad that Eurovision didn't happened.. I want to comment on Belgium. Hooverphonic is the group out of the female vocalist, Luka, and the two guys on the guitars.
They will also participate in Eurovision 2021 again, however not with the vocalist you've seen (which is a shame).
While I personally liked their entry for 2020 - admittedly it was still just belonging to the "best of the mediocre songs" overall though, because 2020 was a very, very good Eurovision year - much of the Eurovision community disliked their song or them. Not necessarily because of the song itself, Luka was also very liked, but because of the behaviour of the band as a whole, especially by some statements the "head" of the band, Alex Callier, made, which could be interpreted as "We are better than everyone and if you don't think so, you're uncultured". Whether he actually said that or not is up for interpretation imo, but the ESC-bubble was hugely understanding him this way, and it did not help that he refused to let his band participate in "Europe shine a light", which was kind of the replacement show for the ESC last year, just because he didn't like the song.
Other than that thanks for reacting to all the entries, I'm looking forward to the next group!

Happy to see the 2nd group finally:) I've just read about the issues with copyrights with the Cyprus's song and I am sorry for that (the song is bad anyway 🙃)
And fun facts about Serbia: one of the girls is Sanja who already was in Eurovision in 2016 and one of them is a daughter of Knez (Montenegro 2015) where she was also as a backing vocalist/dancer.
It's a shame they won't let you show Cyprus - it was one of the more underrated entries. Not a typical Eurovision entry but still good. Sadly he isn't returning this year... Poland was my personal favourite though - her voice is amazing! So glad your back - all of your reactions put a smile on my face. Your reaction to Finland especially hit me in the feels...
My ranking:
1: Lithuania (only one of two with staging...and it was epic! Was one of the favorites to win)
2: Serbia (Pussycat Dolls meets Eleni Foureira...I'm gay, and that was HOT.)
3: Belgium (repetitive, but gorgeous)
4: Poland (different, but I saw the live version and the staging wasn't great)
5: Cyprus (good song, but docked because...reasons)
6: Finland (good song, ok staging, but the least of the six)

Hooverphonic have been around since the mid 90's so you were spot on comparing them to Portishead because both bands were included into the trip-hop style with Massive Attack. I was hoping for something better from them, Release Me was a very good song, but very jury oriented and not televote friendly (and I always vote in the semis and the final)
Have you put a poll somewhere to vote our favourites? Mine in this group is Lithuania, no doubt, and their 2021 entry is great.
After seeing your reaction to Serbia, I was worried how you will take Lithuania in, but you did a pretty good job. I thought it will be too much for you listening and watching it one after another, but yeah both those entries are great. Hurricane is internally selected this year for Serbia, still waiting for their song to come out. And The Roop is most likely going to win their NF again, they are so good. Hurricane's Sanja Vucic already competed in Eurovision for Serbia in 2016, but it was a ballad in English, you should check it, she was great.
And Belgium's Hooverphonic is coming back, but with another female singer. The group consists of two men and one woman. They made this change meanwhile and I think they already have a song, but it is not yet released. Looking forward to that!

Finland was very underrated in 2020 mostly because people were upset (me included) that Erika Vikman did not win

According to CZcams views the top 3 would have been Russia, Lithuania and Iceland. Russia would probably have won but personally I preferred Lithuania. The best thing is that all 3 of them are amazing and really weird.... I love them. Cyprus is sending a girl for 2021.
Finland and Belgium would be my contenders. Underrated yes, but they really do it for to me.

Alicja is considered by TVP for ESC but there are also like 3 or 4 other candidates and we will know who will represent Poland this week or next week
The roop won national final last year since eurovision 2020 got canclled they got the the place in the final in the national finals and they will compete in finaly to represent Lithuania in eurovision 2021 with the song discoteque

Poland in 2020 was quite underrated by ppl, and TVP is silent about eurovision 2021 now. Only, what they did, is their confirmation in August/September, and since that, silence. I hope that Alicja will come back, she is very good!

So some people already pointed it out but I am gonna repeat so Aksel from Finland is in the running to represent again, Cyprus is, unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, sending a different artist. For Poland it is still unknown, Serbia is sending Hurricane again with 3 songs nf where the televote only will decide on the final song. The Roop is in the running to represent Lithuania and Belgium is sending Hoverphonic again BUT with a different lead singer so the girl Luka you have seen in the video will not be with them next year!
Personally, I understand your confusion about Hurricane lol even many of us in Serbia were confused at the very beginning.... a total shift from Nevena!
Lithuania we all know is great no need to say anything more and Finland I think would have been the biggest grower in the contest.
About the rest, I feel very indifferent but I surely hope Poland will send her again. She performed in 2020 jesc and yes the contest happen so you can take a look at her live performance

I know I'm the minority but Belgium's song was my second winner for 2020 after Switzerlands. I don't find it boring at all, it puts me in a beautiful spell or trance everytime I hear it. And Luka's voice is so angelic.

They're honestly awful people for doing this to her, but she's better off without them. Their attitude during the Eurovision stand in concert that happened was beyond awful. Refusing to sing Shine a Light when EVERY other artist did, refusing to let Luka sing it, because he 'thinks the song is rubbish'. What pretentious idiots.

Cost so much money ...as far as i heard so maybe that was a reason as well, spanish delegation talked about how much money they have put into ESC shine a light. This group was a bit meh to me: Belgium way too repetivive (don't wanna say boring, cause it would not do justice to the arrangements etc, but almost leaning to), Poland just a ballad, Cyprus meh...
The exceptions are Finland, Serbia and Lithuania. Finland I didn't like at first, thought it was boring and forgettable. Now I love it. Serbia, I mean it is exactly a Pussycat Dolls-ish act, but it is fun. Lithuania is artsy, original, not everyone's cup of tea but drfinetely interesting and entertaining.
The Roop came second the year Ieva won the national selection, too.
P.S.: Hooverphonic did not chose that song originally, but the the Belgium broadcaster insisted on another song, so they come up with this in ASAP situation.
Let's face it all the songs are good
