So sad to see Danilo leave the paddock. His win in Mugello on the factory team was truly an emotional moment for me. All the riders work really hard, but its just easier to see it in him, and it makes you sympathize with his efforts even more. Such humble and genuine character. He will gather fans and adoration everywhere he goes. Good luck!
Yeah I agree with you. If you miss the video, I suggest to you to recover the interview in Le Mans last year when he receives the phone call by his mum: really another emotional moment which made me cry, it’s my favourite ❤️🇮🇹❤️
Not a dry eye in the room at his Mugello presser.
It was amazing to see him win a stage at Dakar and break down realizing he had fulfilled his father’s dream to win both MotoGP race and a Dakar stage. MotoGP will miss his open and charming personality.
Simon thank you for all the tech talks you've done this year. It's given me an appreciation for the sport on a whole other level and I can't thank you enough for what you do and how you go about doing it. Look forward to all your coverage next year and many more to come
Thanks for everything Danilo! Good luck in your new life chapter
The nature of a gentleman, the heart of a warrior. Can't ask for much more really. Thank you Danilo.
I just know that danillo has really good thought and speak it well. Grande danillo!
Thanks Simon that was one of the most insightful interviews I've seen with a rider. His perspective on the tire change adversely affecting his career was amazing cuz he's such a brilliant talented rider. Thank you DP for all the great races and best of luck to you !
Good luck, Danilo! Thanks very much! 🙌 Wishing you a good luck on future plans! ✌️
Nicely done Simon... the final piece of the puzzle... the driver.... the perfect final Tech Talk
Thanks for all your hard work... hugely appreciated..
two hell-of-guys talking to each other. You made my day, thank you!
Being a factory racer is tough, so much pressure
Most people can't even handle their job.....this whole organization has invested millions and has 100 people working just for you....
The fewer people on the planet that can do your job the more money you make.....100% true
Have heard people say if I rode everyday I'd be a professional too....or if I played golf everyday in be on PGA TOUR.
no you wouldnt.....probably wouldn't even get thru amateur
It's whole different level and world.....very cut throat and its all performance based unlike most jobs.....
Much respect to any professional athlete.....
Best tech talk from Simon
Danillo absolute legendary character
Simon, this is terrific! The work these guys do! 82kg with 8%? Man, he's fit. These guys are legends. Way more sensitive to get right than F1. MotoGP, SBK, IOM TT. Legends!
You can't not love Danilo. A truly wonderful, talented, humble, gentleman. A fast fast racer, hard working, just makes him fans smile.
Two of the nicest guys of MotoGP.
You are One of my favorite riders, Danilo! Very sad to see you leave the motoGP paddock but I will follow your next career and will always support you! Thank you Petrux 9! Grazie!
Excellent video. Thanks for an outstanding and illuminating effort.
Glad these tech talks are back!
Thanks, everyone involved!
Simon💌 Respect!
Fantastic interview, Simon! Love seeing Danilo having success in the US right now.
Rossi and Petrucci leaving😢2/3 of my favorites in motogp! Please don’t leave Simon, you’re #3!
FANTASTIC BOYS!!! great walk through memory lane by Danillo and the soothing words and insights of "KING CRAFAR" kind regards ben from NZ
It's been fantastic having these tech talks
Excellent honest interview. I enjoyed it.
Grazie Danilo!
Epic interview!
i LOVE the gems Moto GP has to offer. Maybe it's because they are so close to death, that they are so clear in their perspective of life. Brilliant!!
Thanks Simon & Danilo!
5:29 Hard work/Talent quote❣️
In fact, this was a very intelligent, informative conversation. 🙏💛💯
17.30 after the crazy dakar, danilo shows trough social who is he truly....and we love it !!!
Grazie DP per tutte le gare, ti aguro un buon futuro e grazie per le parole alla fine
Good morning to all from here on the gulf coast just an hour or so from the MotoGP calendar stop
"CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICA @ Cota"
Simon,
Had to comment on this one to let you know how awesome I thought it was and also that PERSONALLY, I don't believe you could've chose a better rider/person/HUMAN BEING to do this with than Danilo. Fine job as per the norm sir.
Can’t wait to see you ride the Dakar Rally Danilo, good luck! Thanks Simon!
Quality danilo kid 💯💪
I've been rewatching Petrux's podium races, and it's plainly obvious to see where his mass goes from being a liability in the dry to an asset in the wet. It was easier for him to keep heat in the tires, and it shows in his confidence in the rain.
Grande Danilo!!
Class acts
Thank YOU very much 😊
Class act. Going to miss you #9
Grande! Grande! Grande! Petrucci. 🏁🏁🏁
GRAZIE Danilo !
Love Dakar, see you there :-)
And Thank You Simon.

I think that good concentration is a Big factor in winning, something rarely mentioned. Graham Hill the F1 double champ said the first season He managed to concentrate the whole GP, He was World Champ
Grande Petrux!
This is a wonderful insightful interview from Simon - God Bless the modest Petrucci.
He seems very intelligent, and well-spoken for a non-native English speaker.
Go simon. Go motovudu!!!
Good luck in Dakar 👍
the difference between a fast racer and a slow one. is the ability to control your anxiety
Why don't KTM made a Street legal 1000cc V4 motorcycle based upon the RC16 that will compete with the likes of Panigale V4, RSV4, S1000RR, CBR Fireblade, R1, ZX10R, GSXR 1000RR ?
Goog lock danilo petruci.im fans you.
Danilo,
Ya Rock Man. And Guess what... Ya got Megello.

Be well.

D@nilo !$ the best
He was right about the mighty CS27 - in his must read book, Pushing the Limits, Casey makes mention of the off bike workload and media commitments.
But he mainly walked away from bureaucracy and shit fans. He recalls when brit ‘fans’ would spit on him for winning…..wtf….
Anyhoo Simon, thanks for a wonderful year of incredible insights into the sport we love.
I thought he quit because of mental health issues. Anxiety, depression, panic attacks. There was a podcast where he talked about it.

Let the riders focus on riding.
First thing you need is big passion . Im still waiting for someone to be totally honest and just say natural talent and a filthy rich father
Don't need a rich parent. Just need enough and to work hard
i don't agree with Danilo about the rider size. of course being tall isn't the best but at least you own the bike and can hold it better than very small riders like Pedrosa or Capirossi who were too small and too light (even for softest tyres). the good range is between 160cms to 180cms tall. with short bust and slightly longer legs to tuck easier behind the wind screen and to control the bike leaning easier with the knee.
Danilo is just over that highest value with a long bust. it's still managable but only if the bike reach and stack range allow it. because some bikes can deal with bigger size riders easier than others. because the possibility to tweak the rider position is there. which isn't the cas for KTM that is good for slightly smaller riders than him. therefore they have to adjust fairings and footpegs out of range for the bike which create leaning issue or aero issue on the straights (more drag). which lead to lesser good laptimes.
So... in FP1 + 2 combined all riders are lapping within 2.0+ seconds and FP1 was raining.
Often they can be within 1.5 seconds or even less.
The difference which you state does not matter, actually does.
20 years ago, not so much.
@@143DREWID do you even read dude? jesus christ... i talk about laptimes impacted by that. unreal. the main problem is proportions. Danilo's long bust is the issue here not the size total itself. got it this time? -_- BTW Simon rode for GP500 and told in this video it was an issue for him too. probably what costed him his place in the queen category. even if he worked hard he can't beat physics of a big body over a rather tight machine.
@@jiboo6850 Math and physics obviously can not calculate ability 100% of the time. Danilo's Mugello win showed such. However calculating lap times over 23+ - laps weight/size shows its face upon fuel, tires, rider, race line, and competition. The torso in fierce competition and additional body weight, obviously effects above. You say both yes and no to weight chasing one factor. Big body = more weight, reducing power to weight ratio, increasing braking distance, increasing air drag(your individual proclamation), and above stated factors.
Take away computer assistance and corner programming and these variable would be reduced alongside all other new records. Except braking maybe. GP bikes are designed for GP jockeys to win. Too big, no win barring exceptional abilities or circumstances. It's the Matrix.

Today it takes a LOT of money.
Better be born with it, or gifted and living next to the track.
