Tech Talk with Simon Crafter is one of my favourite segments of the channel 💯
Every TechTalk with you Simon, makes me feel i’m learning how difficult and complicated MotoGP is. Keep on making those TechTalk’s. I super like them, and highly recommend them. Thanks Simon
More to come!
You could talk about extinguishers in a circuit and would be interesting, because you always explain any topic very well. Thx Simon, very interesting as always.
The way simon said tech talk sounded like 'tik tok'
Now i can't unheard it
Man you ruined it lol
No, this time it was enunciated correctly. He used to say it like that.
Thanks now it stick in my head forever...
This explains how sensitive Jorge Lorenzo was about ergonomic.
Invaluable to have Simon's racing knowledge and experience when explaining racing ergonomics.
Simon Crafar is a tremendous asset to MotoGP and a joy to listen to and watch
999%
I love how respectful and careful he is moving around the bike....only for it to be hammered on all day Sunday.
I love these tech talks, it just makes me realize how sensitive these bikes are.
These techtalks are awesome. Thanks again Simon, youre the best 👊🏽💯
I love how those workspaces always are shiny. No oildrup at all 😋
Thank you, Simon, I really like this series, and your knowledge and enthusiasm coupled with your clear and gentle voice help everyone understand the unknown in MotoGP
This was brilliant Simon, as always! Absolutely love your videos and commentary, best part of the MotoGP broadcast. Thank you!
Simon, I wish this information was available to me when I started riding. More of these Tech Talks, and longer. Thanks.
Excellent series. Love all the info wish i could sit down and ask this guy loads of bike questions
BEST serie in the channel.
I LEARN a lot and got answers that no one could have give.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love your insite to all things moto bikes thankyou so much for taking your time to help us cheers
One of the best segment of motogp.... Very informative love it ♥️
Love the enthusiasm Simon has in these Tech Talk video's. Keep up the great work Mr Crafar.
these tech talks are very informative.. i get to think about my bike setup even more. eg the seat height, foot pegs on a normal bike is way unsuited for all riders..esp his insight on how to take a 2nd gear turn on the track. a normal fast rider cannot think to say this: "weight is higher and further back than footpegs" ..good stuff keep it coming
I love anything that explained by Simon!! Really great information.. keep the good workkk 😍👍
Beautifully explained with the intricate details mentioned which normal people don't know or think about. Another great vid.
Loving these #TechTalks! Thank you so much for doing these Simon!
Suzukis are the best looking bikes on the grid

Simon is the best guy ever
Thanks Simon!!
A great one Simon!!
Moto - Gandalf🏆Simon knows all the tricks of the MGP trade
Great Simon!!!
That was fantastic!
Amazing explanation Simon crafar
I like these tech talks so much more.
WOW!!! AMAZING!!!!!
Simon should talk about akrapovic exhaust... why teams use different model? just to make it fit with the bike or every team has different "recipe" for their exhaust?
I doubt Akrapovic develops any of the exhaust. I bet all the factory teams creates the exhaust in-house so they can keep engine performance secrets within the factory. I'm sure all they do is slap on the Akrapovic name since they pay sponsorship money. No way in hell HRC would allow SC-Project (Repsol Honda) or Arrow Exhaust (LCR Honda) to obtain one of their engines so they can tune the exhaust.
@@pokerpariah you sure mate? What about the last time yamaha used new exhaust? Do you think that was yamaha who built it? Not akrapovic? I think they have non disclosure agreement between them and each team... sure bikes factory can formulate their own exhaust.. but i think the experience and tech akrapovic has for exhaust system is way more superior than the bike factory made.. imo
@@kampfret No way Akra built that and all other exhaust for Yamaha. And no, I do not think Akra has better knowledge than a factory for creating exhaust for a prototype engine where the engineers are under time constraints and have specific directions. And it's time consuming and cost restrictive to fly exhaust back and fourth from Slovenia to Japan and vice versa. Here's another example : Petronas Yamaha is sponsored by Sakura exhaust. Monster Yamaha is sponsored by Akra. If you look closely at pictures of the exhaust they are exactly the same. Same wielding points, same design, same pebble guards. The same goes for the HRC bikes.
@@pokerpariah that's why i want simon to talk about it.. to give us some insight of how it being develop and choose.. factory steet bike seems using akra for their standard exhaust.. that's why i guess akra also develop the exhaust for motogp..
@@kampfret how fool you are factory are stickering different exhaust manufacturer company as a sponsor and you expect from them to disclose the reality what jerry has said is true all the factories develop exhaust system by their own but its different in production bikes championship like World SBK , BSB here exhaust company actually makes for them
Fantastic!
Thanks Simon.
best techtalk yet
Wow , superb.
Great video. I had a hard time customising my road bike for me. The stock seat is vinyl and soooooo slippery
Great vid.
that exhaust... 😍😍😍
Love the blue color 💙
🤘🤘🤙🤙 Thanks Simon !!
I made some adjustments and got a new race seat and plan on riding with my elbows tucked in next time out in Circuit of the America’s. My current top GPS speed in COTA is 181 mph on Panigale V4S on pump gas , this is with elbows out over the knees. For comparison MotoAmerica superbikes do 185-188 in the same spot. I am very curious to see what me tucking the elbows and being more aero will do.
Yeahh on the nxt episode there should be tech talk about exhaust system... And connection with engine.!
what a beautiful bike 😍
Legend right there
Thanku for choosing that bike to explain
Simon, Ari Henning, and Michael Neeves are 👍
Great explanation Simon, very clear as usual.
The Suzuki is the best looking bike out there. Beautiful bike.
There is something so interesting to me about the tank grip tape
Thank you, Simon 🍻
I saw this video like an hour back what happened why it went down 😅⬇️
this was good.
i like that there a nutgap at the base of the fuel tank
Not really care what simon had said, i just want to enjoy the moment where i can see the suzuki bike as close and as long possible. 😁😁
Then you're missing out
Why don't many manufacturer uses the tank grip pad?
SuzuKING 💪💪
More Simon more! Atleast 2 per race weekend
Vamossss suzuking 👑
Think you Forgot to explain about the brake levers you had on the seat. Simon brother.
damn, that seat looks comfy.
Wow
Suzuki has the most beautiful bike!
Suzuki my fav
Now with that info one of these days I’m gonna take my bike out and do a 0-100 test with my toes on the pegs and accelerate harder without fearing of a wheelie.
Great Tech Talk Simon, however being an engineer, the statement about standing on your feet to lower the center of gravity didn't ring quite true. I see how it might load the rear suspension differently, but whether your back side is on the seat or just above it, the center of gravity of the entire system (bike and rider) will be approximately at the same spot. Get me right, I don't argue that the technique works (obviously you know from experience that it does!), I just believe that the explanation of why it works, should be found elsewhere 😉
Keep these Tech Talks coming 👌
i think the effect of standing isn't to lower the center of gravity as much as to bring it forward as when standing the weight is all going through pegs which are mounted further forward on the main frame rather than the seat which is on the rear sub frame helping keep the front end down
No he's right because it has to do with the contact points of that CG. The CG is broken up through all the contact points, seat, feet, legs at tank and hands; anything that makes contact with the bike. The effect of that weight, the weight plus the moment arm of the rider, in comparison to the CG of the machine. The sum total is the contact point weight times the shortest right angle distance to the CG of the bike via the various contact points.
When going down a straight, there's going to be, most likely, no vertical downward weight via the hands during acceleration. If anything the rider will be holding on, so there if force upward and back. But if the rider relaxes his hands and put weight on the tank, he just transferred some of his weight to the tank. Although the tank is higher than the seat, it is actually at a closer distance than the seat and would, through a force diagram, provide a shorter distance than the seat. Hence, being a smaller overall affect. Similar, with the foot pegs, not perfect but better than the seat.
The rider is actually balancing the need for aerodynamics vs weight transfer vs relaxing the arms/upper body. To help this issue is exactly why they started adding wings on the front of the bike. To create front end down force while sacrificing a little bit of aerodynamics, drag.
Who is this guy anyway? He seems know pretty much everything in all different aspects.
He is an ex World Superbike, and MotoGP rider, and became an Ohlins tech in GP after retirement.
@@bremCZ Damn.
Check his "motovudu" youtube channel.
He won on a Yamaha
He is the official trackside commentator for motogp commentator team too, depends on if your local TV has their own commentary team or not if you will hear him on race days.
goodluck :) :) ;)
The most beautiful bike ever :-1
👍👍
Ulalllalalal.. suzuking. Lovee fulll
Heueuh bisa di stel lah aing ge nyaho,,😘🤣
