- This video shows how to make a side dish for rice using raw bananas or plantains. They are comonly used in South Indian cuisine.one is a stir fry with the addition of fresh grated coconut and the other is a crispy banana fry. Both of them can be paired with a mixed rice or Sambar/rasam and rice.
ingredients
Raw banana stir fry
raw bananas 2
oil 1 tbsp
mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Urad dal 1/4 tsp
dry red chilli 2
Hing a pinch
curry leaves a few
salt to taste
Turmeric powder a pinch
Fresh grated coconut 2-3 Tbsp
Crispy banana fry
Raw banana 2
oil 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
urad dal 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 pinch
Hing a pinch
Sambar powder 1 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Salt to taste

Nice quick recipes. Amma I too make this banana sabzi first peel n cut banana apply salt,chilli powder. And spoonful of grated jaggery. Keep for few mins. In a pan add oil. Add mustard,udad dal. Chanadal.curry leaves.broken Red chillies and haldi.once they splutter add the banana pieces. Add little salt if necessary.. sprinkle water cover n cook with a thali with little water on top. Cooks in five minutes .lastly add coconut gratings
