The reason that all the animatronics on the stage lack legs is because they were designed to stay still and never be seen from the waist down, They are meant to preform inside there small stage box and if they aren't gonna be seen from the waist down then they don't need legs
We were spoiled in the 21st century to see animatronics walking around with legs

Considering the Chuck E Cheese animatronics have existed for far longer then A Bite at Freddy's has its clear to see where the inspiration comes from
They were called the portrait animatronics/ cabaret stage
What the ending cutscene is supposed to mean is that the entire game is a series of nightmares. Fred is a former mascot employee and the mirror is supposed to symbolize how the mascot is a reflection of himself, his fears. He was freaked out by the animatronics and the costume that he has to wear. So in these nightmares, the animatronics are alive and when they found out that they were being replaced by newer models, they were pissed off and decided to try to take action. Chuck E even says "I will NOT be replaaaaced!" There's no murders, ghost possessions or malfunctions, they were just alive and the costume itself is alive too without anyone wearing it. This dream twist ending is foreshadowed early on with the flags in the dining area being backwards. It's amazing how no one, including myself, never noticed the flags being backwards until the devs pointed it out!

The flags being backwards is something that’s obviously wrong, but not in any ‘reasonable’ manner. It’s just… jarring. Strange. Unusual - It doesn’t seem like a human error, nor do the animatronics have any reason to flip ‘em, so it stands to reason it would be a mental thing - Trauma or stress making the brain ‘put the pieces together wrong’, so to speak, just like how a lot of little things in dreams seem fine but once you think about them they just seem wrong for no real reason

Oh finally, someone else understands it! I've seen way too many people on comments talk about murders and ghosts and whatnot.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Fred was actually replacing Sue on her shift as a night guard, and his nights spent looking over the animatronics were what caused the nightmares to start. If you think about it, Gus (the phone guy's name, according to the devs) never even mentions Sue, so it's a detail that probably gets overlooked in the dreams that Fred has. But this is more proper theory material, definitely not confirmed.
This game is amazing. The way you can't close the door when it's too late and they crawl around because the animatronics don't actually have legs in real life.
I never found out why they don’t have legs when they get off the stage, was there were a reason or did I just miss something ?

Watching playthroughs of this game when it first came out, I never heard the stage call correctly. Instead of "Quiet on the set", I heard "Word of the dead", which made things 10x more terrifying 😅

some corrections: the first chuck e cheese actually opened earlier in 1977! since the portrait style bots stopped being used in about 1980 this game most likely takes place from 1977-1979
the date above the time in the top-left corner also explicitly says its june 1979
so basically the game fucking aced its setting which is really cool to see!

I've played quite a few FNAF fan games, but I keep coming back to this one because its so good at making these characters that I was never afraid of as a kid scary and creepy to me as an adult. There were some parts that I got stuck on, but if you haven't played it yet, DO IT! Its one of if not the best fan game IMO

I do like how the devs kept the guesswork out of the lore and just slapped the current date in the top left corner. The reason why this game gets me so uneasy is because being a 90’s kid I’ve had the pleasure of seeing all these animatronics in person in their multiple forms. It’s the exact reason why FNAF caught me so quickly when the first game dropped.

If I recall correctly, it’s possible to get Costume to leave by holding the level for the door until he just leaves with an “okay you win” message appearing. I’m pretty sure it can only be done in Custom Night too

In aggressive mode, if he reaches the door, you immediately get jumpscared by Portrait Chuck-E-Cheese, regardless where the latter is at.
Btw the reason he has no legs is because, the original one also didn't have legs, and the reason why the original one didn't have legs is because they were in a portrait so to save money they removed the legs.
No wonder he was so angry in the game
The phone calls speak about trespassing and potential tampering with the animatronics, it's done in such a way that the costume is implied to be the trespasser so it revealing the mirror seems to imply instead that you're not actually doing the job you're hired for instead disguising yourself to commit these acts, at least that's what I've picked up myself.
If you haven't already I recommend going down the rebranding of Pizzatime Theatre rabbit hole, it's quite impressive as a whole, I'm rather fond of the scrapping process myself if only for how stupid corporate higher ups were :b

@@Mike14264 it's worth mentioning that many games incorporate gameplay exclusive stuff that doesn't affect the lore, story and stuff, it's usually intertwined with stuff that does making it hard to figure out which is which without being told explicitly, the best example would be the player dying but canonically they survive.

Finally people are talking about this game. The attention to detail this game has for the history of Chuck E. Cheese's is insane and its ability to build atmosphere is masterclass.
It's probably been mentioned, but the reason the animatronics don't have legs is because those portraits in the office? Those *are* the animatronics. The original Chuck E. Cheese animatronics performed in little faux-portrait boxes, and had no legs since their lower halfs were hidden and that saved on engineering time and money.
I fucking love this game, the idea of an animatronic attempting to hold the door open is actually scary

The reason old Chuck E. Cheese has a cigarette because he was supposed to appeal to adults and entertain them whilst they were there.
This is one of the Fnaf fan games I got on the laptop I got for Christmas, and I love it! I’m a big CEC nerd and I was impressed by how much care and effort the developers went into making the location feel authentic by including even the smallest details, like the Pong machines and the Stage Call audio. It impressed me even more when they included Crusty The Cat and Dolli Dimples, which are rather obscure characters outside of the CEC fandom. To me, it felt like it was made for both Fnaf and CEC fans in a way, and I love that.

Either way, good video. I especially like how you mentioned Mr. Munch being a copy of Grimace. Lol. Nobody else I know has made this connection. Also Chica being an inspiration for Helen. And Scott using the CEC timeline, that's very true that there's a lot of similarities. My favorite Chuck E Cheese building layout was the two story one with stairs. It was huge. This was back when the Elvis Lion animatronic was a thing I think, the crow animatronics, etc. I'm only in my early 20's but I love reading about this stuff. Thank you for this video.

This game is actually impressive. Most of Radiance's games are always high quality, especially this. This game is sadly not that popular as Treasure Island anr Oblitus Casa and seeing this video really made me appreciate these games more.

This is actually my favorite FNaF fangame! When I first played it, I loved the gameplay, setting, and the atmosphere! I watched a lot of people play it before I actually downloaded it, so I managed to survive the first four nights lol
Other than the story mode, I really loved the Custom Night. I really enjoyed beating True Nightmare All Challenges (True Nightmare With Power Mode, Long Nights, and Aggressive). It made you want to push until you beat it, which I liked.
FNaCEC:R will always be my favorite FNaF fangame. No other game can make me change my mind.

A little bit of Chuck E. Cheese lore for ya! Chuck E. Cheese is actually an orphan who doesn't know his birthday, due to this he really loves celebrating birthdays to fill that party shaped hole in his heart! Also the guy from Bowling for Soup voices him now.
Some extra lore thats the newest lore. Hes older lore was way different and we even heard the names of his parent in one of the shows.

Five Nights at Chuck E Cheese's: Rebooted, is possibly my favorite FNaF FanGame. I'd literally never heard about it before I randomly downloaded it from GameJolt to play for our channel and it blew me away with how high quality this game was. The First time the Chuck mascot costume grabbed my door I shit bricks.

Yeah, fnas isn't really like that
The game takes place in the late 70s, around 1979, it has the animatronics from the second location, Kooser Rd, and a custom location. And the reason they don't walk around is because the locations with the "portrait show" they had no legs, they were only made with the top half. The stage call is a reference mechanical, in the later balcony showtapes they added an announced who would say "Quiet on the set" twice when the segment began.
Chuck's lazy eye is a reference to the lazy eye problem with the 2nd version of the animatronic at the first location.
In the basement you have to face Crusty, a character used at the first location and spawed out for Munch at the 2nd one for more variaty, and same for Dolli being at the 2nd location, it gave you reason to visit both locations, they both werent the same and special in their own way, meaning more customers for both locations.
Also it's Fredbears Family Diner, not Fazbears family diner.
I remember watching FusionzGamer play this, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I actually never noticed that Chuck E. had dark lines below his eyes so that it looks like he is or has been crying. Either the costume or Modern Chuck E. have to be my favorite, though I can't place why.

I really hope this game gets a sequel This is literally the only FNAF fangame I would live to see a sequel for. I would love to see other animatronics be used, like The King, Warblettes, Mopsey Sisters, who knows? Even Dr. Quack! I personally would love to see the Mopsey Sisters, those things are creepy as hell.

Yeah about the cams being in black and white: Help Wanted does this! I've been playing through fnaf 1 in vr and the black and white cams are actually so much scarier to me. Especially when Freddy is off the stage, they did such a good job on Freddy and Foxy imo.

6:16 Fun fact in the early days of Chuck E Cheese first of all his government name is Charles Entertainment Cheeses and secondly all of the animatronics were mentioned for a gag for the adults. (hinse the cigar) Also they didn't have legs to save money and since you couldn't see them due to the "Window Stage" yeah this was a phase where I really was into the animatronics of Chuck E Cheese. Most likely because my parents didn't allow me to do anything revolving around the bear after I shown my mom the Living Tombstone song; "Die in a Fire". 😅

26:10 I think the symbolism behind the mirror is actually pretty wild if you think about it. Let's assume the reason the animatronics are acting up is because of some FNaF-like scenario, where at least 5 kids were murdered & stuffed into the animatronics. I believe that this not only explains why the Chucky animatronic appears to have been crying at 11:59 , but also explains WHY Costume shows us the mirror at 26:10 , and WHY Fred (our protagonist/player character) wanted to return despite not needing to: because it was HIM who killed those children, assuming that kids *were* killed and stuffed into the animatronic suits, with Costume acting as a Golden Freddy-like character. That's why Costume shows us the mirror in the True Nightmare ending , because WE were the cause of all this, and we're either trying to make things right, or pulling another William Afton and are disturbing the souls just for our own twisted enjoyment...
This theory even ties back to MatPat's theory at 2:17 , maybe Radiance is using that real-life incident as inspiration for his story coupled with inspiration from FNaF.

I love how the voice lines of the first character aren't some ghost saying "Hey, I'm gonna kill you", it's actual pre-recorded lines a real animatronic would say.
I know a lot of people have said it already but ill say it also. The reason why none of the animatronics in this game have legs is because the IRL animatronics they were based off of didnt have legs either. Their endos consisted pretty much of everything above the waist. As such, they are typically shown sitting down (or in the case of the original animatronics, inside the portraits), which basically eliminated the need for them to have legs. Games like FNAF that gave them legs due to lore reasons sort of disregard that though.
Pasqually is the mascot of a sort of "sister company" of the name name. This is likely the reason you haven't heard about the character.
I love how every instance of animatronics in the cameras looks like a fucking cryptid lmao
The minigame during the end of 6am the animatronic figure is Crusty the Cat, he is like the others an animatronic during the rea l universe we are in. they got rid of him because, he was a temporary animatronic and got replaced by Helen Henny. That is the reason he is in the basement. Also, all of the animatronics did not have legs and because this was the early age of animatronics designs so they had to have a box which would keep all the parts in it. Also, I think they should've had Pasqually right by the kitchen that would be in cam 5, it would've given it a little more challenging.
According to the Devs in a Dev commentary, The Animatronics saw what happened to Crusty and tried to take action to save themselves. Im guessing they became Self Aware at some point

Excellent video! This game is actually one of my favorites in terms of style and gameplay - one could say it's sort of a FNaF 2-like with the amount of chaos you have to jumble around, even better than FNaF 2 I'd say... though also ridiculously unfair once you get to the tougher challenges, like the All/20 challenges. The Costume is no joke. I do know what the True Nightmare ending means, I could explain it if you want.
Oh, if you're curious about the layout of the restaurant - the map so to speak - Radiance did make one outside of the game. You can probably find it online.
I think you could use my information. The reason the animatronics in the portraits don’t have legs is because that’s how the original Chuck E. Cheese animatronics were designed. They were just torso and ahead on the stage that made them look like they were portraits. They didn’t need to have legs since they weren’t that advanced.
Five nights at Chuck E cheese's rebooted was one of the first things I watched on fusions channel that I can remember and now I religiously watch his play throughs of every FNAF game
I just love the whole aesthetic of the game. I miss when I was 7 and when I even had my birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Seeing the animatronics and the time when fnaf started to boom around that time is when I believed maybe the animatronics can maybe walk around. Chuck E. Cheese will always hold a special place in my heart knowing that it’s a former shell of itself now. Good old times :)
I've lived it. Back when I was a kid, the one we'd go to had a gazeebo. Mom told me to sit loose and stay there and quickly went to the bathroom. It was the 80s and she trusted me to make a fuss if something went wrong. There was a gazeebo with the duck to my left. I figured mom wouldn't mind if I just walked ten feet and I wanted to watch Helen dance and sing.
The duck lady had a button that would turn her on and when I pressed it, she was malfunctioning. Her body was shaking and the dance was skipping, giving her this undercrank quality, think Jacob's Ladder and Silent Hill fast shaking. Her audio track was off too so she said to me along the lines of "Hello kid, I'm hungry, how about you? Get me a bite!" It was then mom put her hand on my shoulder, waited a moment and said "let's.....go home. This is just nope, there are no words. This is creepy."
In my case it was just a malfunction, but it happened in northern Utah, Scott started it all in Hurricane which is southern Utah. Coincidence? Probably, but maybe killer animatronics are just a thing Utahns will get in the robot uprising.
6:15 you probably found out about this already, but the animatronics were originally for the adults, hence Chuck's cigar, the banter between the animatronics in real showtapes, etc.
The mirror is a joke about how in early version trays were called “mirrors” in the crusty segments

FNAC 2019 is perhaps one of my most favorite fnaf fangames that are out there.
It reminds me a lot of FNAF 1 in terms of its simplicity hidden by a terrifying environment.

Not really apart of the horror of it all but I actually do keep up with the Chuck-E-Cheese lore! Ive been getting into it to know more about the irl examples of children's entertainment places that uses animatronics. The really old bad looking Chuck is actually for adults entertainment, which is why he isnt really child friendly. It was under the impression that the children would already be entertained by the arcades so the show was meant to keep the parents from being bored. Also it looks super bad because the engineering of robots were in really bad condition and cheap.
Oh also he wasnt meant to be a rat, the founder thought he was a coyote when he bought the mascot, then rebranded to a mouse because a rat sounded too dirty for a place with food.
Btw they don't have legs (something I didnt expect but personally really enjoy) because they're portrait animatronics! You never see a full body set of Chuck-E-Cheese until they shut down Showbiz and reused the endos to fit Chuck-E and gang! The fact they dont have legs is kinda immersive.
