Glad I saw this comment because I 100% agree. My wife is obsessed with ghost hunting shows and it confuses me. She used to ask me if it wasn't a ghost then how did 'that' just happen. She was always hoping I'd say that I don't know. After enough instant answers she just stops the show for us to watch something else because she's realized that I rip into them. I compare people watching ghost hunting to people watching magicians. An interesting spectacle, but magicians aren't doing real magic.

Its simple, the effects look like effects. They dont look real. A thing string looks more real because you cant see the string on camera.

I want to see something like Ghost Hunters but where they're just a LITTLE bit more free to have creative things happen. Grounded, not super over-the-top (there's plenty of bad horror movies if I wanted that) but we don't have to pretend like it actually happened. Like most stories, it's just real in-universe.
I have never believed in ghosts in my entire life, but I really like the style and aesthetic of ghost-hunting shows when they're trying hard to appear genuine.

My 58 year old mother used to watch ghost hunting videos by Jaystation. And I don't mean the really obviously fake ones where he calls up freddy fazbear, I mean videos where he actually went into abandoned places and "hunted" ghosts and creatures. I once had to explain to her that Slenderman isn't real and that it was a fake video, and I'm 90% sure she still doesn't believe me years after.

They don't need someone around the corner whispering words into those devices. They're usually broken radios or cameras that spit out garbage noise or they're designed to just say random words. It works entirely off confirmation bias. Just ask a bunch of questions until it makes noise, call it a hit, or turn it into a hit. Not hard, anyone can do it.

We use a thermal camera regularly and yes, if someone sits somewhere or touches something, the camera will pick up the heat for a couple minutes after the person moves. It works with pets too! When I got one it was so awesome looking. I work in HVAC

I went to college in Savannah, Georgia. The Ghost tours would stop in front of my appartment, and realizing this building is supposed to be haunted made me believe a little less in them
i wanted ghosts to be real so bad as a kid lol me and my buddy used to watch ghost adventures back in middle school ... since then we have graduated to something a bit more spooky called reality

ik this is over 6 months old at this point but I have to scream this into the void somewhere:
some old apartment complex I was living at when I was 5 (I'm in my 20s now for reference), I believed was haunted- either that or someone was literally living inside my room without my knowledge (which is worse than a ghost imo so, I'll just believe in ghosts) ANYWAYS
my friend was over and we were playing with my plush toys, and we decided to set them in a line on my bed before leaving my room to grab snacks. when we came back however, they were all facing the opposite direction of us.
instead of immediately freaking out though, we decided to place them all in a neat line again, and left the room.
when we came back, instead of the dolls facing the opposite direction, they were thrown all over the room. (to clarify, we closed my bedroom door, walked down the hall, and stared at the door for a few seconds before opening it again)
this wasn't the only time weird things happened, I used to get really bad night terrors and sleep paralysis in that place , and the basement always felt scary to me, but that'd could definitely be dismissed as ye ol' kid paranoia
ALSO, one time when I was playing outside in the yard, I saw a really huge spider (the size of a large dog) crawl across the yard, I ran inside and watched it as it crawled into this big hole in the stairs (they were concrete stairs, and there was a hole underneath that seemed to of been damaged) that was the first and only time I saw the spider though, could of just been some crazy ass hallucination as a 5 year old?? idk I remember what it looked like pretty vividly.
idk how to explain the plush toy situation, I just really hope there wasnt some person living there since that's definitely some trauma I haven't worked through, ty to whoever may stumble upon this wall of word vomit you're welcome! (im high and drunk, and I've been binging all of meat's videos, so I hope that explains this insane rambling)

I used to love exploring abandoned buildings and other places as a teen. Been to a few " haunted " ones, both during the day and night, I have never seen anything around those places. I have seen and heard some weird stuff in my life though.

As someone who has experienced paranormal events, from childhood and even still now. I personally love to hear and see sceptics reactions. There are a lot of sceptics I follow, I hope for the opportunity to take them out to an investigation where it's not all dramatic with overreacting. But to a truly professional and real investigation. But I also know how bad they can get if you can't tell who or what you're dealing with and it can be traumatic. So if you are a sceptic who wants to try it for yourself, be warned things may go wrong💁🏼♀️

There’s a second video he captured later on, but it was using the most convoluted system of mirrors and stuff because he claimed “The aliens knew he was trying to film them now.” They determined it was most likely a larger sized mannequin animators or artists use for posing as a reference and someone was hiding off camera leaning it out into the frame.

13:40 that's not a stick figure app. It's an SLS camera, but it's not a kinect. SLS cameras use directed infrared lasers, called Static Light Scattering. It's basically a constant shotgun blast of IR lasers, and anything that passes in front of them triggers the software to try and detect humanoid shapes which it then draws stick figures on screen to overlay them.
In fact the channel "Really Haunted" uses the Kinect SLS camera to catch stuff in his house all the time.

I was bored and drunk once and bought and downloaded a lot of the ghost Hunting apps and apparently my brand new flat(I was the first tenant) is haunted by at least 15 ghosts and a handful of demons and I have never had any trouble except missing socks and my dogs bones and toys find their way into my bed, so not sure what this means cos I flat out refuse to believe I spent £45 on apps when I was drunk and got scammed

This reminds me of one time when I was younger an there was a ghost hunting show on TV that my older brother and his friends were watching. I took one look at it and just flat out said "You know they're never gonna find a ghost." After that, they changed the channel in frustration.

I personally do believe in ghosts, I've been on ghost hunts before in my life, and I even have a job leading ghost tours in my city! But I also like keeping an open mind to how certain phenomena can be explained.
