The comments are hilarious. People who have probably seen every episode of The Inbetweeners 25 times, begging for it like crack addicts.
Lol best comment
@@KingBoomer is it coming??
@@KingBoomer Just a little taste! Just something to tide us over till payday. One rock! Some loose dust from the baggie...Just a loaner! We're good for it, I swear
@@ashscott6068 🤣🤣
Father Ted over that Inbetweeners shite anyday
Fun fact - the actors playing the characters from Rugged Island were the second choices to play the main cast, but they liked them so much they wrote them into the show as rival priests xD
Sounds more like something they made up tbh.
I recall reading that the guy who played Dick Byrne was meant to play Ted, and Dermot Morgan was meant to play Dick, but Arthur Mathews and the other writer/producer whose name escapes me decided to switch them
That's brilliant!
@@sporkfindus4777 Graham Linehan 👍
Rusty of my facts but Dermott was a big part of writing it?
"My lovely Horse...Running through the field....." Now that is the the best episode ever.
agree 🤣
Nope.Speed 3 is the best.
@@ruairimcm4131 yeah that’s brilliant too 👍
@@toevids To be fair, that episode is equally good.
I got a tshirt with that on 😄
You will fall in love with all the father Ted characters, it is impossible not to. The show goes up a level for series two and then up two more levels for series three. When I see it now it not only makes me laugh but I genuinely get happy from seeing it theme tune onwards,
Glad to see Father Ted back! it really is a show that just gets better and better as it goes along.
The laughing priest was hilarious.
He added to the madness of it all.
It was a bit like the kind of thing you know
And he's also an extremely accurate stereotype, at least in Ireland. You always had these men from older generations who just laughed all the time, more as a weird nervous tick than because they were genuinely happy. My dad had a friend exactly like that.
Must've been an exhausting character to play. Imagine having to force yourself to laugh for several minutes.
About 5 years ago I had a hernia operation. The day after I decided that it would be a good idea to watch Father Ted. The pain induced by my laughter was excruciating but it was worth it. Father Ted is my all time favourite comedy show. RIP Dermot Morgan and Francis Kelly.
Nothing worse than having abdominal/stomach surgery, and trying not to laugh afterwards. Everything seems so much funnier (but oh so painful)
@@the_lichemaster the fact that I was willing to go through the pain barrier in order to watch an episode of Father Ted tells you all you need to know.
Don't forget Brendan Grace (Fr. Finton Stack).
@@jakell99 agreed.
Yes! Not quite as serious but I had my gall bladder removed and did the same thing.
There was an Irishman called Sir Terry Wogan who was mega famous on British Radio & TV from 1969 to 2009 (after he died one of the main BBC buildings in London was renamed "Wogan House"). He dressed and looked like Henry Sellars, and his hair always looked a bit false. It was rumoured at the time that he had several wigs, all different in length, so he could make it look like his "hair" was growing. But he was always a very genial host.
Michael Parkinson I think was the tv presenter they were taking the piss of as this show was made by channel 4 in the UK and was targeted at a British audience as much as anything else. Parkinson was fired from the BBC after 40 years etc.
@@irishguy200007 I don't know... I definitely get Wogan vibes
@@conallmclaughlin4545 No, Terry Wogan was never fired from the BBC, parkinson was.
Parkinson admitted last year he struggled with alcholism.
I doubt Wogan ever drank much but I cannot say.
He certainly wasn't genial to Debbie Harry when he interviewed her.
And getting paid for children in need or what ever he presented of the same ilk...
Since you asked, Leprosy is a rare disease in the USA, with only around 200 reported cases per year. It is still more common in some developing nations, such as India, China, Thailand and some parts of central Africa - and in those places, there are still some "Leper colonies", a result of isolating people with the disease to limit contagion. Worldwide, infection rates are still in the hundreds of thousands. Interestingly enough, one of the medications sometimes used today to treat Leprosy is thalidomide - which I would be very surprised if you haven't heard of.
Also it is treatable now, which is why it's not so common to hear of it in a lot of places. I think the treatment takes about a year though, and I think it's also pretty difficult to catch if you're healthy and not malnourished.
That sideways glance when Queen Boomer realised what she just said about the King not faking anything... 🤣
A friend of mine was a professional poker player, who contracted leprosy...!!!
He never realised he had the condition, until he started throwing his hand in... !!!
zing
For some strange reason, they didn't feel a need to tell the audience not to drink Toilet Duck
Around the time this was made, Ireland won the Eurovision Song Contest a number of times, almost in successive years, hence Mrs Doyle's laugh about the Eurovision. Hosting the contest is quite expensive so they started putting really "out of the box acts" into the competition including Dustin the Turkey - a DJ turkey puppet... There's an episode coming up which is actually a parody of the Eurovision where Ted and Dougal enter the contest.
In fact, pretty much everything in Fr. Ted is an exaggerated parody of real life in Ireland (and to an extent the UK too).
Fucking. DUSTIN.
I don't care we lost but I've always HATED Dustin haha. Socky was fine.
Quote to sum up the year of 2022 by KingBoomer "we all need a Dougal in our life" ♥️
I'll have that on my gravestone 😂
I always drink responsibly. I make sure I have another bottle in the fridge 🤣☘️
Your appreciation of this legendary comedy makes it all brand new to me again. When you cracked up at 08:50 "I'll give you a clue - you live there" your laugh is just contagious. Love you two!
Wait til Bishop Brennan starts making appearances lol shit is funny as hell
Crilllllllllllleeeeeyyyyy
@@lordsoros627 now ted, do u know how to make arrows, no your grace, not to worry it'll come to ya lol
Im half English half Irish.
My mum was a classic, she was the Irish one, lovely but stern as hell.
When ever she got mad we would call her bishop Brenda lol.
I would NEVER have dared to kick her up the arse though.
Would have been bishop Hitler levels of retribution and she had no Californian love child to find out about by way of flamboyant Cuban priest and blackmail her with.
@@lordsoros627 😂😂😂
@@lordsoros627 I hhhhate yoo 😅
The other priests on the other island were all the second choices to play Ted, Dougal and Jack.
It's great that you get and love this comedy. I had an American housemate, years ago, and I lent him the Father Ted Boxed set. When he gave it back he said 'I didn't get it and had no idea what was going on or what it was about'!!!
Let me guess… he thinks Mrs Brown’s Boys is funny?
If you think the balls guy was annoying, just wait for Graham Norton's character.
No cap. Father Ted is the greatest comedy show i history. PS, If you're ever stuck for some of the Irish references in the show just ask.
You should have run through the credits, there's often a gag included in them (as was here, the comparison between Rugged Island and Craggy Island) or a post script gag actually after the credits. Graham Linehan (the writer) does this a lot with Father Ted and The IT Crowd.
18:52 An Irish scientist actually discovered the cure for leprosy in 1950 (Vincent Christopher Barry)
Father Ted gets better and better. One of the all time best sitcoms Ever. No exaggerating
"Hello, I am in your living room" is now going to enter my vocab for entering a friends home.
Every Parochial House in the program has 3 Priests and a tea lady. There will be a Priest like Ted, a stupid one like Dougal and one that drinks a lot like Jack. All the tea ladies will look and dress the same in each house.
I'm glad you enjoyed this episode - from season 2 on, a lot more episodes are this zany. It's as if the writers had found the right way to take things (even though the early episodes are still brilliant).
I think "hell" (the caravan episode) and "the old grey whistle theft" are my favorites. They have craziest cutaways like the police helicopter poping up and the guy being gunned down by the army.
Ok I have an easy way to remember Father Jack.
He has teeth like a JACK-O-LANTERN.😁
You’ve got to react to the father ted Christmas special. So good
@@toevids 😂😂😂😂 so funny! Never gets old
Brilliant.
@@toevids You read that…….somewhere! 😂😂😂😂😂
When ya fall off a chair with laughter 😂 absolutely one of the best shows ever .
This is one of my favorite episodes, especially the laughing priest, and the way Ted is over it.
Another classic programme to watch that you and queen will enjoy!
It’s called

Oh boy, you're getting there! Much , much more treasure to come, can't wait to see more! You won't regret it. I hadn't seen this episode for a fair while and was laughing hard along with you. I love this show.
And for the record, I love your PSA messages. "This PSA was brought to you by King and Queen Boomer".
Dont forget to watch the end of each one as the comedy runs until the end of the final credits. Some of the end credits are hilarious.
Did you know there's a small clip of Father Jack without the makeup in the final episode? He's got a good singing voice too
So glad to see another Father Ted reaction from you and you still like it, was worried you weren't going to carry on as you didn't seem so keen after the Father Stone episode, love seeing your reactions and glad you are appreciating Dougal more, Jack is funny and Ted is sort of the straight man with quirks, but Dougal is the one where they get really creative with the jokes. Mrs Doyle gets more funnier as it goes on too
I love toilet duck - not only does it get you smashed, your pee also cleans the toilet bowl to a sparkly, lemon-scented shine!
This was the first Father Ted episode I ever watched back in the 90s and laughed so much, especially when he first jumped through the window as it was just so outrageous. It will always be a favourite of mine.
Hi again guys from New Zealand :) Your reactions are hilarious! Whoever said you're laughter is fake KB probably hasn't got a sensahuma haha! Just so you know, every parochial house has the same set of clergy - a middle-aged priest (Father Ted), a young priest (Father Dougal), a senior priest, (Father Jack), and a housekeeper (Mrs Doyle). So.. their enemy Father Dick (Rugged Island), has the same setup as Craggy Island and so on. You'll even see the Dougal equivalent wearing the same style vest! XD Each character has their own nuances which leads to some side-splitting moments as you've discovered. It's non-pc which is a welcome relief, with the best yet to come XD Enjoy, and stay safe!
Girlfriend???! Put a ring on that girls finger! You two are made for each other!
Imagine Henry Sellers drinking or using mouthwash, giving the fact it contains alcohol in it.
I love that you love it, it's one of the many shows where you either have a good episode or a really great episode.
I’ve heard that when the actor who plays Father Jack went into make up and had all the scabs and things applied, his wife was so upset by the way he looked she would leave the studio until he removed the makeup
The irony of Americans telling Brits how to handle their drink.
(love you)
Love watching your reactions to this show, I grew up watching this. It's amazing to see It's still as funny now, to someone seeing it for the first time, as it was back then.
It's so goofy and you two just make if goofier!! It's the goofiest combo! Love it!
You've got to give the sitcom "Bottom" a go, with the hilarious Rik Mayall.
Leprosy is a bacterial infection so it's dealt with easily via antibiotics these days. Same with the Plague.
I'd love to see him running around in a hurricane screaming like Father Jack, CAKE CAKE CAKE!!!!!.
World wide there are about 200,000 new cases of Leprosy a year, not many in the West but there was a recent spike in 2020 of 27 cases in Florida.
Love watching your reactions. It reminds me why I love and always will love this show. From a lifelong Fr Ted fan from Dublin, Ireland. 😁
Watching you react to Father Ted, I notice new things about the episodes that I hadn’t before. It’s great! 😊
Every episode is a gem, hope you stick with it.
Yes! More father ted! Thank you king and queen b 😃
Fr Jack (Frank Kelly) was a very educated man in real life
PTSA is widely used as a catalyst and as an intermediate in a variety of applications such as: A catalyst in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, polymerization stabilizer, paint intermediates, cross linking reactions and resin curing agent.
I have Leprosy...Both of my arms fell off...I'm typing this with a pencil in my mouth.
If I drank in moderation I'd never have found you two
I think the "trophy" was a chalice from church.
So glad you're doing Father Ted again!
Yes Leprosy is still around. Funny enough I looked that up the other day. Very strange You brought that up ha!
Top tip, watch the credits. It usually ties in with the story 😃
QB: When asked about eating out... I ALWAYS say 'yes' (without ANY provisos, whatsoever) - you two are SO nice.
You wait until you get to the Christmas Special. That's a real treat - 45 minute episode!
That one does drag on a bit. Even Graham Linehan said he was bored during the commentary.
True Irish genius!!!!!
I’d love to back at the start of watching after ted for the first time. I grew up on this comedy. I’m glad you get it, the writers did say the Simpson was massive influence on the writing. The cut away comedy is usually reserved for higher end comedies. Once you get into the latter series you can see the budget, take effect. And the excellent writing take effect, but the writers loved faulty towers and said they just wanted to make X amount of series and drop it. The lead character died after the final shoot, which put the idea of bring it back to bed.
34:05? Poor King just wanted a tiny kiss 😂😂😂
30:19 we've heard our whole lives 😂 "ahahahahh ahhh no, no"
Glad you are still watching Father Ted, its a hilarious show and it gets better
Yes!! Another Father Ted episode. My fav!
The way Jack has no idea what's going on and looks at his burger makes me crease laughing
23:32 thankyou for the PSA, you could of told me before I drank half a bottle of Ouzo 😂
PTSA...I knew what you meant Queen Boomer. Thanks both, great episode!
No shock at the priests from Rugged Island 'blacking up', seems like it really is still more tolerated in the U.S., than in the U.K.
Henry Sellers was a spoof of an Irish-born gameshow host on UK TV at that time called Henry Kelly and the gameshow Sellers presented was a spoof of Kelly’s BBC game show Going For Gold.
The Stars In Your Eyes thing was a pisstake of a real Saturday primetime talent show we had on ITV (the BBC’s main competitors) with the same name, where regular members of the public would go on TV and be made up as their favourite singer to sing their favourite song. The results on TV were (usually) very good courtesy of top makeup and costume designers the TV industry could buy but can you imagine something like that being done down at your local bar with homemade efforts? That’s what this is mocking… pubs really did have their own Stars In Your Eyes competitions.
@Crow Magnon It was deffo Wogan, the wig gave it away.
King Boomer you need to react to “Jimmy Carr Big Nasty Epic Roast Battle” will have you falling off your chair..seriously funny stuff 😂😂😂
The first time I watched Baseketball I was at a friend's house, high as a kite and I thought it was the funniest film ever. Good memories!
I am a great fan of most of the episodes. This is great reactions
The quiz show with the simple questions is a mockery of an Irish quiz tv show called 'winning streak' that used to have decent prizes, but contestants from the most remote and rural parts of Ireland that the host tried, and often failed, to guide to the obvious and simple answers.
Leprosy is indeed still a thing. In fact it is making a come back.
The drug Thalidomide is used to treat it so Thalidomide injured babies are still a thing also.
Omg 🤣 this cheered me up no end!
Dammit, I was thoroughly intending on drinking irresponsibly tonight but since hearing your message I realise I should show some restraint.
Great reaction, love you guys!
Just stay off the Toilet Duck and you'll be fine.
@@ruairimcm4131 noted.
The trophy on the mantlepiece at the start of the episode is from the Ludo championships, a board game, think you call it Parchisi in America.
Drink responsibility... Don't spill any!!
Keep up the great content, more BO defo
And no Toilet Duck.
BaseKet Ball was amazing. 'Your mothers deaf'.... that whole psyche out was brilliant 🇮🇪
You finally got to see "ah go on".....👀😂😂💜
Definitely persevere with the whole series, it gets better and better. Though episode 6 of this series, Grant Upon Him Eternal Rest is one of my favourites.
Good luck editing out cigarettes when you get to the 'lent' episode!!
Leprosy excists even today, but it has lost its terror because the infection rate is pretty low and the disease is controllable.
The last Sunday in January is world leprosy day!
I love you and queen boomer the way she looks at you is adorable
38:24 Just PSA - Public Service/Safety Announcement, PTSA - Parent Teacher Student Association
18:57 Yes, people do still contract leoprosy, although it's almost unheard of in the west
Chirpy burpy beep sheep, the mainland ad speed 3 are the best episodes 😅

ah lads you would have loved the ending credits scene here
Greetings King muppet👍 Love Queen muppets giggle, cute💕
I got to wear Fr Ted's black leather jacket and recreate the moves 😂 His son let my try it on
Happy you liked it, there is better episodes to come too. Hate to add to your must watch list but if you get time to squeeze more quintessentially muppet mayhem I highly recommend Black Books
Yes have to watch black books, one of the writers of Father Ted wrote Black Books and the IT crowd. Black books I think is way better than IT crowd but all are fantastic
In Japan outside of Tokyo we have a leprosy hospital. Maybe it has closed down now.
