I've worn Ted's Elvis jacket 😂 His youngest son, Ben, owns it now.
What??? You can't go as Elvis!!! 😲
Its such a pleasure watching new fans of the greatest sitcom of all time ;-)
Yay, more wonderful Father Ted reactions! :) An interesting fact about the show, is that the actors who played the 3 priests on Rugged Island (Fr. Dick Byrne, Fr. Cyril McDuff, and Fr. Jim Johnson) were all the 2nd choices to play Ted, Dougal, and Jack. This episode is just golden, so much laughter to be gleaned from it. Fr. Jack and his Toilet Duck hallucinations, Fr. Dunne the laughing priest ("It was a bit like, the type o' thing you know!" 😂) and "Ziggy played guitaaaaarrrr!", being just some of my favourite moments. Seeing you two discovering the magic of this show is a great joy. :)
The next episode is one of my faves, featuring Ted's (unknown to her) girlfriend and if you are wondering what he says throughout the episode it is "Good luck with the book". Also for newcomers, she calls him Father Curley instead of Crilly.
Maurice O'Donoghue the actor who played Fr. Dick Byrne said he was glad he lost out on the role of Ted.
In his opinion only Dermot Morgan could’ve been Ted.
@@bestirishfirefighter Yep, that was on the "Small, Far Away" documentary about the show, which is wonderful stuff.
@@bestirishfirefighter Apparently, back in the day there were a few efforts at a Father Ted reboot for the US. Steve Martin was touted for the Ted role.
For a bit of context, many of these episodes are based on elements from Irish culture of the period - all be it highly exaggerated! If you're not from the UK/Ireland, you may be interested to know that this one is based on the show Stars in Their Eyes, which is a British television talent series, based on Joop van den Ende's Dutch format Soundmixshow. It featured a singing contest in which members of the public impersonate showbiz stars.
I don't think there was an Irish version around that time - but many Irish people watched UK TV either directly from Northern Ireland / across the pond in Wales with large UHF antennae. or via what were called deflectors, which re-transmitted UK TV across the island using "pirate" re-transmitters (they were eventually legalised, but by then, you could just as easily get British TV using satellite as all the main channels aren't scrambled and the footprint for the UK is wide enough to cover Ireland).
Great to see Father Ted again and you reactions are wonderful. Verey sadly, Dermot Morgan who played Father Ted, died from a heart attack a day after the last episdode of series three had finished filming.
3:30 Father Jack telling Mrs Doyle to feck off, just for bringing some tea into the room, has been making me laugh for 20+ years.
This is a series that just gets better & better1 - you've got to look forward to watching this
Niall Buggy, who plays Henry Sellers in this episode, also played the title role in John Boorman's Zardoz.
The basttard 😊
Good lord.
The 'go on go on go on' line was used by the UK government to get us to fill in our annual tax returns. No kidding!
I love this show it is still on re runs on tv here
I love all cameos that come with their wierd character quirks. Never dissapoints
I see at the end there was a link to Derry Girls..... another fabulous Irish comedy 😉
Hope you know what 'feckin' means??? ADORE Father Ted!! Miss him SO MUCH!!!!
I love how you started swaying at the start and it cut you off like that. I was swaying with you until that point😄
The sound is a little distorted at the end. I'm not sure what happened but my apologies
Ya feckers 😂
It's so nice watching these through again after watching them years ago when first aired, nalstaligic, though cant remember this episode, only went distorted last few seconds but could get the gist
I thought they had all turned into Daleks
Ive been waiting for this.. we need 1 fr Ted a week. 👍👍😂😂✌🇮🇪
If you ever get tired of Father Ted (why would you?), check out another sitcom 'Allo 'Allo - great show. But, word of advice if I may, you can't dip in and out of the series, you have to dive in with a resume intro first, which can be found on CZcams, after that all will become clear! Or not!
Absolutely brilliant, you will get to see so many characters, it gets better and better, thanks guys
you should watch the full version of this episode
It's a wig
Those Protestants...😔😔 Drinking and smoking weed again 😔😔
Theyre from that leper colony
Oh the theme tune is Songs of love by The divine comedy Check them out
You will be surprised at just how attached you become to these characters. For such a bizarre/stupid show it gets genuinely heart warming --- plenty more silly before any of that though.
The Supreme in the middle looked like Castro Trudeau
Thought you might like to see this, a sweet & funny tune made as a tribute to Father Dunne, the laughing priest, and this wonderful episode. R.I.P. Fergus O' Kelly, "The old heh-heh". ❤ czcams.com/video/f2J0A-Vqgt0/video.html
love father ted
you should do a programme on youre own great couple xxx eccellent viewing i 4gt about the video you show and i just cant stop laughing at youre funnyness ye both of you do a programme on youre own great double act x
Great reaction, BUT...the sound feckd up round about when that alcoholic TV host took that second sip near the end
Ya, I'm not sure why.
Alcoholic TV presenter, who _made_ the BBC and wore wigs, …… thinking of Terry Wogan anybody?
I dont know if you have noticed but dougal does a little skip in every episode

ime youre no one fn if youve wached mysery dont take that in to account ime quite sane ha ha ha love you both sash xxxx father ted brilliant
I decided to sub up to your Mid life non crisis today.
I think Henry Sellers was a spoof of Henry Kelly, who was an Irish gameshow host on British TV at this time.
Its more like Terry Wogan, who did sort of 'make the BBC', and had a wig.
when are you guys getting your own TV show. your feckin hilarious.
ARE YOU BEING SERVED is an😮oldie but goodie. It centers around an uptight English department store and it’s colorful characters.
i didnt like that part were the tv presenter cleared the fire place with ornaments and cleared and broke them my dad did that 4 reall wen he was in a temper but it was shure frightening as a kid
When ye finish Father Ted, ye should try Derry Girls!
Does anyone know the name of the classical music that plays at: 17:58?
Search for:
Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt - Suite No. 1, Op. 46 - I. Morning Mood
@@LyingSecret Thank you!
Something weird happened to my hearing toward the end of this clip…🥴
Aaaaaa fuck yea :D
Volume on you was alright but the last off father Ted was like a stuck record unfortunately.
Not a single episode without some issue.
🍻👋✌️

wtf are you doing on the wrong sides?
Not one of my favourite episodes, I thought I'd seen them all but dont remember it,
"Bless me Farter Ted, for religion is truly fecked!!" BTW CZcams keeps freezing and jumping in the UK, Canada and the US since they did updates the other week!
