Bearhoti Is THE Best Mountain Bike Trail In Georgia!

  • I've ridden (mostly) every mountain bike trail in Georgia by now, and I can say hands down, Bearhoti is my favorite trail in Georgia, combining Bear Creek Trail with the Pinhoti Trails. It gives off a little bit of that Pisgah feel in a small way. It's in noway Pisgah, but it's as close as you can get without leaving Georgia! One thing about me is, I love to climb to be rewarded with a decent. I've never been a fan of XC trails, which if those types of trails are your jam, you're in luck, because Georgia has quite a few XC trails! I love riding out in the mountains though, where everyone is so spread out riding.
    The one place I still haven't been to is Jarrod's Place! Hopfully I'll be able to check it out in the coming months!

    I love your videos! It’s such a treat lol. It’s getting cold where I live, Asheville NC, and I’m trying to figure out what to wear on the mountains. ❤

    Being the only one on the mountain is worth more than gold to me.

      I 100% agree with this when I'm hiking. I mountain bike a lot on my own, so I guess I just like knowing there is atleast 1 person out there if I were to have a bad crash. 😅
      I agree though, there really is nothing better than being alone on top of a mountain.

    Thanks for posting this! I live 30 minutes away but almost never ride here. You inspired me to get back and ride this. Regarding the video quality, honestly it was just okay. Maybe play with the settings some.

      So glad it inspired you to get out there! It's hands down my favorite area to ride in Georgia. Thank you for that feedback too! I've made some changes since, but still trying to make small tweaks to get the footage dialed in more.

    I did the mulberry shuttle and rode Bear to P1. It's definitely a hoot and pisgahish! I couldn't imagine climbing up that LONG gravel road to get to the top of bear eek! Jarrod's is a blast! I still can't believe you haven't rode it! Every fall/winter I do a bike park tour of Kanuga, Ride Rock, and Jarrod's.

      That's awesome! I know!! I keep saying I need to check it out, but still haven't! Love Kanuga! I haven't heard of Ride Rock before, I will have to look it up!

    You think you're not afraid of spiders, until you end up with a 5 inch orb weaver on your face.....

      I don't want any of those passangers, lol! I've had a large one get caught on my bike, but luckly not on me, lol. Fall is the worst, huge spiders everywhere!

    Hi I’m racing at bearhoti how steep is the climb we’re getting shuttled to the start of the trail

    • @MorganBishopp
      @MorganBishopp  Před 2 měsíci

      That’s awesome! What race is it? I didn’t even hear about it!
      To me, P1 is the hardest climb on Bearhoti. It goes up to a 14-19% grade in a few spots, but overall it’s about a 4-6% grade. Since you’re getting shuttled up to the start, P1 will probably be a lot easier with your legs still being fresh. P2 is the easiest climb on the route in my opinion and a blast. Have fun and good luck!

    Nice trail. It looks like a lot of fun. That is a long morning ride. You should consider changing out that rear hub for something quieter. It takes away from your dialog when you are not pedaling.

    • @MorganBishopp
      @MorganBishopp  Před 8 měsíci +3

      It's a blast! I actually just upgraded my hub to the i9 Hydra Boost. Lol, I'm one of those people that loves a loud hub, haha. I feel like it doubles as a bell too, so hikers can hear me.

    the edited out the beautiful creek crossings? bummer. also, i got ZERO cell service there and honestly, that is a concern you should have brought up as a lone biker, esp as a woman. if something were to happen, unless you have a satellite phone on you? - you'd be screwed.

    • @MorganBishopp
      @MorganBishopp  Před 14 dny +1

      It was still cool out when this video was shot, so I rode through the streams slow and edited those out to keep the flow of the video.
      I do get somewhat decent cell service along the way here. I think it’s important for everyone when going into more rural areas alone or not, female or male, to be prepared and to always share trail info with someone before going and to pack accordingly. I have a SAT that I carry, but even with that, the tree coverage is so dense, it’s harder to get out unless it’s during the winter.
      Happy trails!
