apartment move out tips
I'm thinking about opening my own business in a college town where people are always moving out doing garbage and furniture removal and cleaning. Here to learn.
Yeah right now I don't have a carpet cleaner but saving up for bigger items to help me clean, but thankfully the move in that I have scheduled for tomorrow doesn't have carpets but I know to charge separately. I usually clean between 3-5 hrs on a regular maintenance cleaning so I know a deep cleaning will be at least 6 hrs if it is a (2) bd apartment unit. I'm prices pretty cheaply until I can get my LLC I charge around 20-25 dollars per hour but I've seen too many cleaners that are charging 30 to even 50 per hour. Of course they have sufficient times and have all the bells and whistles to their company. I'm just starting but I will succeed 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿❤️❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I’m so glad to read your comment. Reminded me that I should probably consider a carpet cleaner not just cleaners thank you
I wish he would have done a worked out example for the billable rate
Billable rate is just a rate created. Let’s say in your state you know $20 a hour will get a employee to clean one unit. Each unit takes usually 2-4 hours regardless if it’s 1-4 bedrooms so let’s say we charge $125-150 per unit. So at 4 hours of work that’s $80 for one employee. One employee can do it in four hours 2 can in 2 hours. If you have high amount of work get two each unit it’s the same pay but better and more efficient. Now all add your profit you want and that’s the price. Most apartments will lay 70-150 a unit. Adding carpet cleaning and handy man work also can make you more money.
Great ideas I start to due those thing and is a great money awesome thanks for sharing this one with us. God bless you.
That was great, thank you!!
Great info thank you. I’m new to the business 3 yrs Into janitorial services and have made a lot of mistakes on pricing or not asking enough questions.
Thank you❤ very helpful
Thank you may God Bless you!!
Great information 👍
Great advice
Thank you Julie
This help me a whole lot and I have been to you guys websites!!!
Glad it helps
How can you track/calculate yourself/team to arrive at your production rate?
How much for one unit?
Hate it when apartments don’t replace the things that need replacing and then blame the cleaners for it not looking brand new. Or when maintenance comes in after and makes a mess then we have to come back. Sometimes they expect too much for a set price. I get $70 for a 1 bed 1 bath.
I suggest taking photos of your cleaning after the job is complete
thats to little to charge for a move out clean. no matter how many beds or bathrooms it should be at least $150
@@Planet-Cleanium I agree
Wow. You’re charging way too little! Move out cleaning is hard work. Organizers makes more. $65 an hour.
$150, $180 or $195. Depends on the condition.
👍🏽
A discount for how long tho
You have been really good about replying to messages. What would you say is the best form of advertising? I have invested so much getting this going by I have a lack of business.
Networking is the best.
Then your website.
In most cases a person will ask friends and associates who they use to clean their office. Then they do a search on the internet.
You need SEO for people to find your website.
You do that by having a blog on your site and adding content that is helpful to them.
That way when they do a search for cleaning in xyz city they find you.
If someone is selling advertising ask for proof that it works. In many cases they are only in it for your money.
@@thejanitorialstore thank you so much. I had a great cleaning business twenty years ago. It was word of mouth because the internet was not that big. My son died and I walked away from everything because I couldn’t handle life at the time. Now that covid has reared its ugly face I decided not to go back to working in the airport. I decided on just doing move out cleaning, construction and electrostatic spraying. I don’t want customers to feel uncomfortable if my employees and myself are not vaccinated or wearing a mask so I figured this was my best route. Cleaning hasn’t changed too much but the way you get noticed sure does. I appreciate all your advice and your videos have been very educational!!!!
@@jammazzing5986 thank you
Do you provide personal training?
😂what ? Maybe I’m reading your comment wrong 😑
How do you make production rates?
You need to know the cleanable square footage and the time to clean. Example - 20,0000 sqft divided by 4.5 hours a production rate of 4,444.44 square feet per hour.
Good morning. Please can I talk to you privately
