Improv In Always Sunny (Bloopers)

- Improvisational jokes presented in the bloopers. Some may not be improv, there is no way for me to tell.

I've seen many comments about how none of the extras break and seem to be more professional than the main cast. This actually is normal. I have worked as an extra quite a few times and in almost all cases, you are given very little knowledge of the scene. Furthermore, there are dozens of things that can go wrong, from acting mess ups, to technical issues, etc. If an extra ruins a scene, they will probably be removed from the scene. And finally, the extras don't have the relationship and chemistry like the main cast does, particularly in this show where the actors produce and write it too.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully season 15 is coming soon!
My thoughts exactly.
Thanks for this comment. It's quite odd to see extras seemingly not have a sense of humour and not laugh* along with the main cast in a blooper, but they're doing their job by blending into the scene, ready to reset in a moments notice. I once witnessed a fellow extra ad-lib on a feature film set and hoooo boy I've never seen someone fired so quickly before.
Edit: typo
Number one rule of being an extra, don't talk, ever, the difference between an extra and an actor (And thus of pay) is one of having lines. In a lot of American sitcoms, particularly Friends and Seinfeld, you have extras in scenes where they distractingly don't talk, mostly waiters, nurses or some other kind of person who the character is dealing with. They'll often distractingly shrug, pull a face or silently smile and understand or otherwise not speak in a very conspicuous way. I don't know if it was that the producers on those shows were just really cheap (Despite these shows making more money than any other of their kind at the time) but they were the champions of this from my memory.
you whats dumb people, i even thought that when the big teen and charlie were talkin about sex, but then i used common fuckin sense and said, they are trying to MAKE a career of course they arent going to be the ones causin bloopers, wouldnt doubt they wouldnt get a call back
You are an idiot who has no idea how shows are produced. The lines are the same because they improv a line, like it, and add it to the script on the day. It’s a statistical impossibility that none of this is improv. Listen to the commentary and they mention improv all the time.
I'm not entirely convinced that Mac's mom is even acting
she doesn't even know she's being filmed
All she knows is a dude named Charlie and his friends come over to her house with a bunch of cameras for 3 months out of every year and she ends up getting a check in the mail that keeps her in cigarettes and beer.
What's hilarious is she played the same character on Ray Donovan, just slightly more lively.

Man she cracks me up, never breaks the character even when others laughin around her
Charlie breaks everyone out of character the most but the main one who breaks Charlie out of character is Danny Davito
I always thought Rob broke most
Kaitlin is so good at not breaking around Charlie that they had her with him so much in the early seasons because Rob, Glenn, and even Danny would start breaking.
dude cuz Danny is OP
I can't even imagine trying to keep a straight face around Devito. That would be nearly impossible
It seems like Danny DeVito breaks everyone, he’s just so serious about everything and I think that’s what gets them
I love how you can see that despite playing the most morally decrepit character in “sitcom” history (from what I’ve seen) Glenn seems like one of the nicest guys. He’s always the one who starts laughing really hard at the improv bits and seems fun
He’s the one who also reaches out towards the others when he laughs. It’s sweet.
i love stuff like that :) while The Office is obviously VERY different from Always Sunny, i also noticed that despite playing such a jackass on the show, Rainn Wilson is always the person laughing the hardest behind the scenes

@@CorrectionUnknown Charly Daie
“His neck is high. It makes me trust him.”
😂😂😂
Can anybody explain why this is funny?
ABIGPLAN just because it’s ridiculous. They’re associating the “strong” looking posture of holding your neck up high with trustworthiness. It’s funnny because they’re so easily sold by the simple fact that his neck is high. Sorry, I just realized it’s hard to explain jokes
Matt Drummond youre a good guy
@@ABIGPLAN your neck is one of the most vulnerable part of your body. Like dogs laying on their backs, it's a subconscious way of saying I trust you not to slice open my jugular
In conjunction with the previous replies to this comment, I'd add that the characters being who they are makes it funnier. Charlie is incredibly stupid in many ways and is very susceptible and in-character to notice and not over-think something like holding your neck higher to establish trust. Mac is also dumb enough to pull a move like that not only with the knowledge that it would trick Charlie, but also because he believes it genuinely makes him more trustworthy. He also looks ridiculous doing it, so the fact that it actually works makes it absurd and absurdity is one of the pillars of what makes this show funny. It's a conversation that could happen with actual 3 year old children which is usually how the Mac-Charlie relationship goes. Grown men acting like toddlers is also comedic on top of the shitshow that is their adult personalities.
