    Mr. Hashmatullah Khan was my maternal great grandfather. His son Col. Haider Khan was part of the Aligarh University and subsequently his son Salman Haider became the Foreign Secretary of India.

      Thank you very much. This is what you get from a real travel writer who has done his research before embarking on a journey. This is how writing in English differs from Urdu so-called travel writing.

      @@salmanrashid8880 سر آپکے سارے ہی پروگرامز دستاویزی ڈوکومینٹری کی ذیل میں آتے ہیں۔ جس طرح آپ نے cartographers کے حالات کو دلچسپی سے بیان کیا ہے۔ آپ سے گزارش ہے کہ رچرڈ برٹن پر ایک پورا باب کریں کیونکہ اس نے بھی خانہ کعبہ اور سندھ پر ابتدای کام کیا ہے۔ کام سوتر اور الف لیلہ کا ترجمہ بھی کیا۔ اور سب سے بڑی بات یہ کہ وہ آفریدی پٹھان بن کر اس نے آفریدیوں کے ساتھ حج کیا اور انھیں اس کا پتہ بھی نہیں چلا کہ یہ آفریدی نہیں۔ اس طرح کے کردار ہمارے تجسس کو ابھارتے ہیں۔

      آپکا ایک مضمون دی نیوز میں پڑھا تھا جس میں آپ نے ڈی این اے اور سیدوں اور اعوانوں کا ذکر کیا تھا کہ ان کا کسی طرح بھی عربوں کے ساتھ کوئ سمبندھ نہیں بنتا۔ اگر وہ دستیاب ہو تو اس کا لنک بھیج دیں۔

      @@shabbirahmeddar7765 I have a set of the 2-vol account of Burton's haj read 25 years ago. I have earlier also read his works on Sindh. But to do such a documentary I will have to reread all those works. That's asking for too much time from my work that puts bread on the table.

    Seen & heard for second time.
    Fascinated by Yarkand/ Yarkandi horses name heard in a story told by someone. Those horses are half the size of normal horses.
    Once the king thereof fell extremly ill and got treated by Gurdaspur reknowed Hakeem Mirza Ghulam Mutaza. who was called there for treatment . Who treated him placing the king amid dried dung and began burning them. The lices on his body left and king got healthy.
    While his subjects were raising noise in protest.Althogh it was told to them prior to treatment.

    Muztagata = Buz Dağ ata is an combination of three words
    Buz means ice, dağ means mountain and ata means elder.

      Thank you. However, from chaste Turki to Kirghiz and Uighur the word changes to Muz. Also Dagh of Turki becomes Tagh in these languages.

    Sir what is tha meaning of the name Changtok in the map on 19:42? Sounds very close to Gangtok, capital of Sikkim.

      I don't know how much the language of Sikkim takes from Tibetan, but Balti derives from Tibetan and Changtok being from Balti, I did not ask the meaning.

      Must mean something in Tibetan I am guessing. Baltistan and Sikkim are so far apart but must share a lot in common culturally I think.

      @@siddharthadas1040 All place names in Baltistan mean something. So too must Changtok. Incidentally, up on the glacier, we camped right under its western flank.
