Thanks, that was nice. I think that I am a bit of both depending on circumstances. Wasting time in unfruitful social gatherings is definitely something to avoid. When someone can do everything that an entire group is doing, (standing around) it's time to go practice or read, self fulfillment/enrichment activities.,

Oh man, if you ever have kids, the whole small talk thing is going to be awful for you!
Particularly when the kids in question are cute, you'd be amazed at how many random strangers want to strike up conversations with you about your cute babies. :)
