Man, what a SENSATIONAL PROJECT, I liked all the details and how it was developed with ALL the care and dedication that one should have in most of the activities.
You're in Congratulations!
Thank You so much! Such comments keep me motivated!
It was not developed with any care at all, which is a shame... There is a driver layout where you have the woofers on the outside and the tweeter(s) in the middle/between; the layout has a name, named after the guy who came up with it. This has to do with how the wave cones influence/shape each other as they propagate from the speaker. So you don't have to take my word for it I tried to find a video at the psaudio channel where this is discussed, but there are 10 years worth of video and I failed just now :) I just came across this same topic again today where they said that no credible designer would put the woofers centre and the tweeters on the outside... so whoever designed this did not have a clue and also did not bother to investigate speaker design worth 2 Cents. Avoid this layout in principle, you'll get the worst out of it. The layout should be inverted, i.e. tweeters at the centre.
Good woodwork, but from the acoustic point of view there are some flaws. The cabinets seem to be too small for these speakers. That's why the middle bass is very loud, while the deep bass is missing. You used thin plywood for the rear panel. This weakens the cabinet against the pressure of the speakers. Furthermore, there should be a partition wall between the left and right channel in the housing. Apparently you didn't use any acoustic filling material. This can lead to unwanted resonances in the middle frequency range. One more word about closed and ventilated enclosures: Loudspeaker cabinets must be matched to the loudspeakers used. A loudspeaker that is good in a closed box is usually not good in an open box and vice versa. The keyword is "Thiele Small Parameters". If you know the Thiele Small parameters of your speakers, there is software that will calculate the right cabinet for you. As an old-school loudspeaker tinkerer I would like to say that I would never think of combining both stereo channels in one box. Stereo should allow a spatial sound image and therefore the loudspeakers must be further apart. Otherwise, a mono speaker would do just as well.
its nice to know more about how speakers work... thanks for this tip...
The deep base is missing because he used crossover for mids. Your points are valid but how much Sq are you expecting from that little chinese amp?
deep base is missing because the cabinet is wa too small for these speakers. Given a decent amp base rendition depends mostly on what cabinet you use and what are the TSP (Thiel Small Parameters) of the speaker.
Sounds like you know whats up. Please post a video. I want to build one but i want to do it right. I know different woods used have an affect on sound quality as well.

Exactly what I was looking for, Thank you so much.
Wonderful job Donny! Amazing. Just watching the whole process is enjoyable. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that.
Amazing , I enjoyed your video... I wish to have lots of tools and space to build my own stuff ,
What type of neighbors complaining about music but not the sander and a jiggsaw and the routers. Turn to 11. Good job
😄😄
Is This On Sale?
Yes!
How much moneh (R$)
Check the description for that!
Aesthetically I love this. Love the carbon fiber/leather look.
Thank you!
Super clean, I love the speakers mounted on the inside that looks great. True craftsman.!
Thank you so much!!
Acho que é o trabalho mais bem feito e de bom gosto que já vi! Parabéns.
this is by far the best diy bluetooth speaker i have seen!
Wow thanks!
This is by far the best diy bluetooth speaker I have EVER seen!
it's good work Indeed - I just bought JBL loft 50 speakers and want to make something like this
I'm looking for a good blue tooth amp? Need some help with that ,also i want to add a oltage meeter
Nice work, sound is clear and cabinet looks really nice, keep up the good work!
Wow the amount of craftsmanship put into this is incredible. Great job.
Thank you!

I don't have the fancy tools like you but nice wood work
Brilliant thanks
Amazing quality built. Same as you man, i like DIY my own stuffs as there is much more pleasure in life doing thing with your own hands. In the past, I've been busy building different portable Bluetooth speakers for my son using wood & making my own amplifier circuits using copper strip boards. It's indeed great fun.
Thank You! It sure is a pleasure to create!
Morel Maximo. a great set of speakers for sure. formerly used in car audio, i have a pair in my vehicle and i can say, with a DSP those speakers get loud and man do they have some clarity
If you had added a large passive radiator and parts list I would be building one very soon... Gotta have as much low end as possible to fool the size.. So happy to see people building nicer Bluetooth speakers these days, my reality was lost on the last several years and portable options other than really expensive options that could be better given the price they demand
Thank You! I may consider adding a PR or a port on my next build!
i used 4 x 4" PR's on my build with 2 x 5" inch drivers and sounds very good
@@NightshiftCustom got a link? MM
Donny, I would be interested to find out if the ports make a difference.
Nice work, looks like marshall speaker
Thanks!
Awesome build! Beautiful speaker! 😀👍 A tip for the next build, a dividing wall to separate right and left channel for even better sound. And maybe some dampening. 😀
Amazing project and great build quality! You used more electronics systems/circuits that I thought it would be needed. I learned from your video that I have to learn more ;)
When you pull out the screw out of MDF I blew the dust with my mouth :D
😂😂
Just stumbled on this channel. Amazing quality build. I would pay good money to get a speaker box with that kind of quality finish and fitment. Not sure the 200ma PSU is enough for that AMP board. I would have thought 2A minimum.
Thank You Paul! i really appreciate that. The main power supply (which clearly was not shown in the video for too long) delivers 36V at 6A. That other power supply is only for the Bluetooth module and preamplifier, to eliminate any ground loop noise. I would always consider a decent offer for a speaker of your choice!
All the info is there, in the vid, in PDF. Amazing how many people think the 200mA supply is for the amp.
@@DonnyTerek
Good job. The box itself would be a great kit for people who want to DIY but don't have access to those tools. Not everyone has a table router, if a router at all. I would go for a mono version as the stereo effect is a non factor when merely wanting to put sound outside. An 8" woofer and 2" tweeter driven by a 25W amp is more than adequate. Marine speakers and a metal grill would make it feasible.
Your box would be a great TV sound bar.
Love the comments you draw here.
for everything else, great jobe! and speakers are not just electronics, it is much more than we can imagine
one things for sure this is a very nice and well built speaker good job
This diy speakers looks like branded ones
Thanks!
It looks much more expensive than the overpriced cheap plastic crap that floods the market these days. Can't stand those overpriced RGB plastic toys.
Haha thanks!
Donny Terek please try to make more projects in less time
Better then most “branded ones”
1:30 Ball bearing broke? :D
Wow this really inspired me to build a speaker as big as I can manage(I had some problems trying). I really like how you made sure to finish the speaker in a very nice fashion. I also liked your camera angles(they were very clear).
Thank you!
Great workmanship and great range of tools and techniques. Top job. Hope mine turns out half as good....
Phase inverter?
Oh wait he links in description 36v 6.5a power supply
This is the proper way of making speaker, it's well planned and made. You deserve my like
Thanks! I truly appreciate that.
Amazing work! This is the best I have seen. Wish I had one. So neat!
Thanks!
ASMR build
You forgot to make port holes for speakers and you should have a divider between 2 big speakers for better sound.
kan815k divider yes but neither ported or sealed cabs sound better it is preference
Kudos for great effort and attention to detail! When compared to the JBL Boombox, I'm not sure if many will see this as a cost effective solution, but it's a cool project anyway!
Thanks!!
Very nice build! Good speaker choice.
Thank you!
INSANELY Loud?! 🤦🤦🤦 sounds very good btw
I'm sorry that I did not have a chance to play it at full volume when filming, it was actually too loud to play at even half volume in the middle of the night!
my subwoofer it's getting around 2300W and I can tell that even the hair of my leg they are shaking in distance of 2 miters
what does BTW means?
old time gamer by the way
OK thank you
12v 200mA for 150w good luck bro
Pd: the finish is awesome
I did a bookshelf build with these morel Maximos, they play really well, very loud with good frequency response.
They like lots of power, being 90w rms each. Clean power helps a lot with bass production, these mids can play low!
Pair them with the correct enclosure and port and you can get some impressive bass, I haven’t tried them sealed however. They can handle 200w rms as a pair if your signal is clean enough.
very nice build and i really enjoyed seeing the exceptional knowledge and ability to integrate all the features you have implemented on your speaker. nicely done.
Thank you so much!
even though I have no doubt I could do this... I would have run into 80 problems doing it, lol
Left speaker broke?
Burnt channel =china
No. It'a the angle of the camera. I thought so too at first but you wouldn't see much blur on the left speaker coming straight towards you because it would just vary in size but not position. However the movement of the right speaker baffle is apparent because it's more of a side angle.
Is the best project for a home soundsystem , congratulations
Wow, thanks!!
Non stop visually satisfying....Awesome video, Thank you!
Thank you!!
When you are painting you logo first spray lacker then paint leters, sand and spay second leyer of lacker
Thanks! Great advice!
Yeah, I’ll just go out to my back shed and pull out my laser cutter that I don’t have. 😂😂
😂😂
Buf i dont know ??
I'm glad this popped up. I've got plenty of extra amplifiers and some REALLY good Kicker 4" speakers and Rockford Fosgate 3.5" speakers just itching to be used. throw in this 10" sub im bout to upgrade from and boom.
Que arte! Me encantan los detalles! Un lujo ver este video... gracias por compartirlo
200 mA at 12 Volts DC supply can not generate enough amps for 150 watts RMS, it needs at least 10 Amps DC for RMS and 20 for PMPO in case music reaches peaks. 200 mA is 0.2 Amps and will burn out . The most it can safely supply current for watts is 3 watts DC.
Update: Someone explained that the small supply unit is for bluetooth, there is another supply, I did not see it.
That power supply is only used for the preamplifier and the BT module, not the amplifier. A way more powerful one is used for the amplifier,
You have to show what amplifier and electric supply you put in for the speakers.
He put 2 power supplies. First is 12v 0.2A (for bluetooth module), the second is 36V DC and he showed it. DC 36V 5A WX DC2416
Yes
The amp will only really do 125@1% THD and will be over 30% by 180... But lets be real, unless people turn it all the way up (and sadly that's what most people do and blow their speakers) it will only use around 1-10w max for the average person.
I just found out recently what I thought was plenty loud was only 1-3 watts from my Chane A1.4's... about 85db in my listening position if you factor in the distance, which puts it slightly louder a lawn mower apparently.
Сложно понять зачем высококлассные динамики запихнуты в картонную коробку без акустического оформления. Но сам дизайн коробки очень и очень хороший. Вопрос и по USB, а дотянется ли туда типовая флешка.
Nice Job ! Sounds GOOD
Wow ... it makes it really good .. it's a fantasy !!!
Nice design, except the power supply is a very bad model (noise, parasites and ridiculous performance), I suggest you replace it with a toroidal transformer 2x18v-200vA, the sound will be much better.
Thanks! I may consider it!
Super Man friend, I’m studying audio, why the toroidal gives a better sound?
The toroidal is a cleaner power supply and provides a stability of the current, there is less see interference and background noise, the amp saturates much less, the harmonic distortion will be the lower.
parasites?!
Its a nice build, however, for a how-to video, there really isn't much explanation as to what he is doing. Should also incorporate some time lapse, while slowing down the important parts to explain what he is doing.
Well. He showed it very detailed... If you still did not get it, better buy a speaker...
those are awesome work.. really nice done DIY speakers..
Man that's a very cool DIY speaker!
I also liked the video and how you've worked. Great job!
Thank you so much!
No Port or Passive radiator is included in this build. The low frequency will distort the speakers even at half of the volume. Apart from that I appreciate the effort put on building this. I think there is enough space to add Passive Radiators and some polyfill to damp up the speaker enclosure.
Shamil Aiyubkhan that’s exactly what I was thinking 🤔 no ports or passive radiators ??
Hi! Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate your attention to my build. Yes, I was able to add passive radiators or ports, but I did not want to overcomplicate the project too much. The speaker turned out great anyways and it gets really loud and with lots of bass!
sealed doesnt mean distortion. not sure where that came from
23:53 do you say the bass is clear?
Tekboy 808 I never said sealed enclosures will make the speakers distort. The size of the cabinet matters when making them sealed. For this size of speakers the cabinet is too small, so it's best to use a passive radiators or ports
200mA AC/DC for 150W of consumtion? logic?
Yeah obviously this amp is more like 40 watts rms at most .
Ja Lee 150 watt peak ??
Ikr, but I need to clarify that it the audio is 150w the power adapter has to also be 150w right? Because I when I bought a 60w amp it came with a 30w power brick
Furious DYNAMITE of course
Furious DYNAMITE it likely has a transformer to step up the power so it comes with a power brick that says 30 watts but likely the amp takes that and doubles it
You are an excellent craftsman. Thank you for the video. It is inspirational.
Thank you very much!
Wow! A nice properly done speaker! Love it !
Thank you!
Nice build, great speakers, bad design. If you built two of these, one for left and one for right, it would sound flatter in response.
Is he powering everything with that??? 16:52
That is only for powering the preamplifier and Bluetooth! 😉
Dude he showed you the real deal power supply like 20 seconds before that...
Boi that’s the crossover for the speaker are you crazy????
The main power supply is at 16:22.
He put 2 power supplies. First is 12v 0.2A (for bluetooth module), the second is 36V DC and he showed it. DC 36V 5A WX DC2416
Awesome! Well done, very professional!!
Thank you so much!
PRO diy build! Well done sir!
Мужик молодец! Только зачем такие ужасные саморезы все красоту портят. Торексы или 6 граники самое то.
you're right!
No bass test :/
I might do it in the near future! Still don't have appropriate equipment for that!
Tons of free apps for sound tests exist to measure basic frequency response on your phone or tablet.
Parabéns! Ficou top 👌.
Congratulations! It was very beautiful.
Beautiful hand crafted work. ❤👍🏼
Thank you!
"DIY"? Myself doesn't have an entire professional workshop at my dispossal to do this.
Neither do I! Most of the tools are borrowed or paid for to be used.
Ricardo Cordoba
It's still DIY regardless. Do it yourself. He clearly made the speakers and didn't bought them at a store.
Fake news, doesn't sound any louder than my laptop speakers
😄😄Good one!!
WOW....Amazing skills. Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for a project to start my own speaker and you're project is the winner. I will build my speaker using your schematics. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
Wow, thank you a lot! Though I do consider this build quite outdated. I am planning to build an updated version with different speakers.
Excellent build ! Fit and finish is 💯 !
Thank you!
12v x 0,2A=2,4 W continuos... :(
He put 2 power supplies. First is 12v 0.2A (for bluetooth module), the second is 36V DC and he showed it. DC 36V 5A WX DC2416
i really enjoy the extensive footage on putting the screws...
That's beautiful and was inspiring.
Nice project. Liked very much your attention to detail.
Congrats
Thanks!
I liked your build. Meticulous attention to detail. Very informative. Well done!
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Irrespective of the comments about cabinet size and acoustic performance, this was a careful job that looked great. Well done.
Excelente vídeo, es impresionante ver la construcción de un gran parlante. Saludos desde Perú
neat project and the correct tools to get that finish >good job!
Such an Amazing Video of building! This is what CZcams should be about!
Haha, thanks!!
That was a really nice build!
Very good, perfect finish ... you could make independent boxes for each speaker to increase the sound quality, here in Brazil we use this method a lot.
Good job, looks awesome.
And now one with active base and accu pac 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍! Nice build bro!!!
wow man amazing job quality i'm impressed
Thank you!!
Looks awesome!!
I love you built this from scratch. Not something you see all that much. Awesome job. A couple of technical things I would have done differently though. Just being me. Your mileage may vary. You have no sound damping material inside your cabinet, making your woofers have back wall reflections causing your woofers not to have the best definition they could. As those waves will migrate back to your woofers again causing intermodulation distortion. I realize you are making an infinite baffle design, and a great one to use as it is very friendly to make vs. Bass Reflex or Acoustic Suspension which is highly inefficient. Also your cabinet could be braced better too as that too contributes to the sound quality. The cabinet does not breath or change its shape a bit with all that sound pressure inside when bracing is used. I used to build speakers myself and have been doing audio forever, and love this art allot. Which is why I am glad I saw your video. Please keep making more cool stuff. If I may make a suggestion. Look at making a cool Power Amplifier or Preamplifier for a desktop system or small powered monitors for your desk. You have the wood working skills and you can create audio gear based on even wood cabinetry. See?? I am not about criticizing you no end. I want you to please build more. Nice work. Cheers.
I can't thank you enough for such a comment, Vincent! Highly appreciated with tons of great advice which I will definitely use to upgrade my speakers! More projects coming up in the near future for sure. Thank you once again.
really good work congratulations
Hell yeah representing morel speakers🤘👍💖
Good choice on the speakers! Morel is great!
Thank You! Can't go wrong with these!
Good car speakers yes. BUT less than ideal for small sealed enclosures. The Thiele Small parameters are wrong for this application. This means bass rolloff. But probably you can EQ the bass with the control on the amp although then the speaker will very quickly will be reaching excursion limits at medium sound levels.
Good sound and great work.
I must say this looks really nice! Just finished my own "portable" speaker and realized how much work it is.
Hey just want to say thanks for this great ASMR vid
It looks awesome!!! It remembers me kind of a Marshall speaker!
Hi! Thanks!!
What an amazing works!!
