It even came with a bonus. Wouldn't you be happy to take a punch to the head to not only get a karen arrested, but to have her sit in jail for a few days? I know I would. The fact she was jailed for over 24 hours is rare, I love that it went down that way.

I was a flight attendant for a time, and it was standard for us to move the beverage cart backward or forward if we could, to allow passengers to return to their seats. However, on an hour flight, this can take up valuable time required to get the service done, picked up, and to get the carts safely locked away. Passengers need to be aware of the constraints we are all in while flying, and not make things difficult for anyone, including the flight crew. Her flippant answer to the hardworking staff seems to show her disdain for others she most likely views as being beneath her. I think the man was trying to defend the flight attendant, but did it in an extra confrontational way. At any rate, she needs some intervention for her own sake, as well as the sake of those with whom she may come into contact. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos this year, Dr.

I am a frequent flyer. The airports are a nightmare because of the extreme security. A few short years ago you could check 1 hour before flight. Now you need to start check in as much as 3 hours before flight (Orlando is insane). What is allowed on-board or in security changes frequently. Its frustrating and stressful before you even get on the plane. So, a little mental illness mixed with a heavy dose of stress in a tight little "tube" is bound to blow its cork. Sorry the statutes are to vague. That is no due process. Treat it like dui. 1st offense 5 yrs. 2nd offense 7.5 yes etc etc. Lifetime is to extreme. For an altercation between passengers. To be honest, I do have empathy for her. I have borderline personality disorder as a man, and whilst I've never self harmed which a lot of borderlines do, I have a temper few can match. I've been lucky that none of my episodes have ever been publicly outed or I'd be humiliated and ashamed. Quite frankly I'm lucky not to be in jail, and not to have a criminal record. I feel sorry that her life will be forever changed from this and finding work in certain area's will now always be difficult, simply because she lost her temper.
I've noticed a lot of gorgeous women with personality disorders rarely get much treatment for them because there's always a guy or someone willing to forgive or overlook the behavior. This isn't a rule, but just in general I feel like there's less incentive for them. Over 7 years of tough therapy has given me enough skills to not physically put my hands on another person at work or in situations where I could lose my temper. I still want to, I just dont. I wish this woman well and hope she gets therapy and develops the skills necessary to succeed and be more calm, but unfortunately now that may be a bit too late. This of course doesn't at all condone what she did, just looked at it from her perspective.
I think I understand why she kept escalating. For me, I'm used to my family not taking me seriously, and just bullying me and pushing and pushing until I finally explode. I think she took the guys comments and things as a challenge or threat and didn't want to back down and unfortunately kept escalated and lost her shit, when she should have had the tools to say ok, calm down and sit down and ignore and don't let yourself be apart of it. Hard to do, but yeah, that fucking sucks.

Admitting that racism can be applied towards white people doesn’t negate the centuries of racism towards black people. Straight up denying it only does harm. Our society also did not invent racism, it’s been around nearly as long as the human race has been and has applied to any and all races throughout history by individuals or systems.

I agree with you that Patricia seemed ready to react to anything that came up that didn’t please her. The beverage cart was the first thing. Then she started yelling at an 80 year old, 30 years older than she is, who is eating a meal. That’s why he didn’t have his mask on she repeatedly attacked him verbally telling him to put on his mask, he told her he was eating.I’m glad that at least a couple of people filmed this incident on their phones because that enables the FBI to investigate it having these eyewitnesses, so to speak. Patricia does sound like a troubled lady, and the elderly gentleman did not deserve to be attacked like that nor did the flight attendants deserve to be treated that way, either. Some mental health counseling and anger management sessions would be a good idea for Miss Cornwall. Thanks for your always- interesting analyses.

I've become increasingly frustrated at the usage of the word Karen in incorrect ways to such an extent that it means nothing now. A Karen would never refuse to wear a mask. A Karen WOULD demand that someone else should wear their mask if they refuse to do so in a situation where a mask is barely, if at all, necessary. A Karen would never commit an assault like this. A Karen WOULD use her cell phone to film someone else doing something ignorant, civically irresponsible, or something that only SHE finds wrong/illegal before herself being the victim of a ghettofabulous close fisted assault by the subject of her filming; typically of a different race than the Karen with a man punching her close fisted as if she was also a man and a woman grabbing her hair, forcing her head down, while pounding relentlessly on the back of her head while screaming "Something something white bitch something something!"

In fact I would never refer to someone who is telling one of the very ignorant amongst us to put a damn mask on as a karen. I took my headphones off to hear the plane’s fire alarm going off. The pilot gets on the PA and says, “don’t worry we are right over the Atlantic Ocean and that will put the fire right out.” The next thing I know there is a man being dragged down the aisle by about four flight attendants.
