Essen 1977 : From a Rockpalast concert shown all over Europe ... I didn't want to split the two songs as the intro to Fat Man in the Bathtub from Skin it Back is just so good!
This is cool reminder about how great this band was. Audiences and critics loved them but they never got the record sales they deserved. The current line up do a fine job but the band here are truly special.
I was very fortunate enough to see Little Feat back in 1978 in Baltimore Civic Center, when Lowell George was still alive, plus an added bonus was sitting in the second row, center stage. They put on one heck of a concert!
I remember reading an interview with Paul Barrrere from years ago, and he was asked about the impetus for "Skin It Back". He responded, something along the lines of "well, you know, I'm not circumsized." :D
Have come to the conclusion that a really good drummer with his own style is crucial to a bands success, think The Police, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Stones, etc.

Man, Richie Hayward was the best drummer! He made those songs roll like a New Orleans freight train.
My fave band. Period. LOTS of great bands but these guys do it for me. Been listening to them since 75 or so.
Richie Hayward was a fantastic drummer. Love this funky rock music!

They put on one heck of a concert!
I was most fortunate to see them live back in the early 70's
Damn I wish I could have seen these guys live. So great live. Thanks for posting
I did and they were fantastic back in 1978, so good.
I've never seen a band shift from one groove or tempo with as much skill as Feat. Richie was the bomb.
I saw them during this tour in the late 70’s and again 5 years ago. They still sounded incredible. Now Paul is gone…. I miss Paul’s funk.
@@donnaplumridge9769 I did too and they were fantastic in 1975. Here it is, 2024, and I'm still listening.
I did a few times. So good.
Fucking awesome 😎
This is the best band ever!
Great band with Lowell George. You can hear the Dr John New Orleans sound. I love it.
Feat's don't fail me now, and they never do.
Best concert I ever saw. NYE '78-9.
Nice!!! Lowell last NYE😅

Ha! That's awesome :)
Yes, and it’s “dangerous” to ask about Fat Man in the bathtub, too. Those guys got away with so much back then, using all that street talk.
