      I’ve lived in Vernon my whole life. 👍 Still remember when Vernon had 12,000 population back around 1970 - fruit orchards covered the hillsides surrounding the entire city. Farmers sold to developers around the late 1970s. Vernon definitely has grown, especially since 1984 when the Coquilihalla highway opened up. Vernon continued to bloom in the mid 90s - things expanded rapidly real-estate wise. Highways improved to Armstrong and Kelowna. I still like Vernon even though Vernon’s a small city with big city problems😬. LOL. Thanks for watching👍🙏

    We will take all the snow you don't want! No white Christmas for the last 5 years. I live at 800 meters but very little snow. We used to get 1 meter per week but now. Any how days are getting longer. Spring will come for us both. Thanks again.

      Italy is an extremely beautiful country. Its architecture and history is amazing. I hope to travel one day. It can stop snowing here in B.C. anytime, so tired of winter. Bring on the heat! The process of paving has captured my eye ever since I was a child. Stay safe making Italy a smoother driving experience! Thanks for the kind words and for watching. Much appreciated!

    That seems like a shallow body. We usually get about 22 tons of hot rock per load and I have a really high body, up over the top of my cab. And I load it pretty full. I can’t imagine that fitting in this body without filling it end to end

      During summer this region can go weeks, sometimes a month or two without rain. Big rigs remain clean. My friend Tom always keeps his orange KW spotless. He takes great pride in his truck, as do most truckers in this area. Thanks for watching the video!

      Hi Ola, I like all trucks. Although I know very little about European trucks. I follow Polish supertrucker Iwona Blecharczyk and her trucking adventures on CZcams. She always has entertaining videos from the cab of her truck. Any further questions please ask. I must ask... are you a truck driver? , Greettings from British Columbia, Canada. Finally spring is in sight.

    Down here, the truck backs up to the paver, lifts the body, and the driver just rests his foot on the brake while the paver push's the truck down the section getting paved until the truck is empty. then the truck drives away.

    • @coolbigrigs
      @coolbigrigs  Před 8 lety +4

      +Maine Man The paving method you described is exactly how paving is done here, as well -- the paver pushes the truck as it continuously empties asphalt into the paver's hopper . What is difficult to see from this filming angle is that the paver was angling away from its parallel route, making a slight left then back right over four metal covers. The crew needed to also apply diesel overtop the metal covers. The truck was removed to do this process.
      Thanks for watching the video. Your viewership is appreciated.

    • @chadkinney5604
      @chadkinney5604 Před 6 lety +5

      Drive triaxle here in Maine and we rest our foot on the brake while paver pushes us along. Paving crews often think this is easy to do, but they don't realize that not all trucks are properly setup for paving. Some sit low and lift rear wheels off ground, others lock wheels up easily especially on aggregate. My truck deflates airbags prior to dumping causing truck to lift as body goes up, making it difficult to adjust brake application. Depending in grade and surface this can be challenging. Please paver operators have some patience and understanding.

    I've got a 16 wheel dump myself, where is this at that everything appears to be tandems only? I should have got the high lift gate option too...

    • @coolbigrigs
      @coolbigrigs  Před 6 lety

      Sounds like a nice rig ya got there... hauls a pretty decent load. The high lift gate is a pretty cool design. The government regulates how much weight per axle and axle spread. There are tridems up here but tandems are the choice in the construction field. They meet the numbers nicely. Thanks for watching the video.

    How long is the body on that truck? Would make a nice 10 wheeler dump. Everyone runs tri axles around here. But I don’t really need a tri axle. Just yank a trailer around mostly

    nice truck and operation, but why dump two times separately instead of one continuous dump and push the truck with the paver? Just curious, not trying to be flippant.

    • @coolbigrigs
      @coolbigrigs  Před 5 lety +1

      Sorry for the delayed reply. This footage was edited to only feature the white C500 & orange T800H at work: footage between the T800H's two dumps respectably was deleted, making the dumps look continuous. I failed to mention the void in the video. I apologize. I'll upload the entire paving job soon. Thanks for watching! Much appreciated!

    Wtf is that? Cold mix? Pop your gate 7 miles away from the paver top it off and pull away? That’s weird... I back up to paver.. pop gate.. paver pushes my PETERBILT until I’m empty.. lead guy waves goodbye and I grab gears for another 21 tons ...

    Not trying to be a know it all but the paver looks a little far forward on the trailer you mite be over on the rear axle of truck and over on your front axle on trailer. Speaking from experience with Michigan State Troopers

    • @coolbigrigs
      @coolbigrigs  Před 4 lety

      Hi Bob, I appreciate the comment and see your point of observation. I'm not versed on the weight allowance per axle with this unit but do know the CVSE (Commercial Vehicle Saftey & Enforcement) regulate trucks closely. This unit passes the CVSE scales many times a day, as it's seen here loaded, and passes without issue. Wish I had a better answer. This unit meets the specified regulations, even though the eye may see different. Michigan's a beautiful State and hope to visit one day. It's an economic engine surrounded by rural beauty! Love the car culture, too. Thanks for watching.

      The orange Kenworth is a T800 model with the "high hood" option; large radiator. T800H (H for "High Hood.) . There's also the T800W, (Wide) Largest KW radiator option. Thanks for watching the video.
