  • In this video I try to take you through the steps I'd use in order to set your own AI difficulty.
    Know you don't want to set it so easy that you win every race, as you'll never progress as a driver. I'd always like to be racing drivers which have the potential to be faster than me.
    Here, I'll explain how the AI works, and how best to set your AI in relation to your own skill level.

    Great stuff. Thank you, Rat Master. I have recently moved from PS4 Pro, to PC, and have struggled greatly with the AI. On PS4, I found that an AI setting of 100 was challenging, but I was always in with a shout. On PC, I'm lucky if I can hit 60. I easily outbreak the AI, and drive out of corners faster, only to get my doors blown off a few seconds later by an AI car that suddenly has the acceleration of a dragster. I'm always up for a challenge, but I don't want to be relegated to back-marker status after a few laps either.

      Nick King lots of thanks for such a compliment... Unfortunately I don’t have the time to run as much testing as is required to set this in concrete. Other cars and circuits may well differ but if I’m wanting a challenge with the AI and to maybe practice with a setup then this is the approach I’d take at getting some serious competition to build on my skills.

    Awesome video. Banged up AI aggressive to 100. They think about things more. Occasionally get a bump from braking early. But loads better and more competitive. I did do a LMP900 race 32 cars. 90 AI skill. Started well. Then went into comedy central mass pile up which I somehow avoided. Did C9s at Sakitto. On 105. Got daunted by quickness in practice. Switched back to 90. Managed to do a 1.32 lap. Only for AI to do a 1.29. 🤨😆

      It’s so much more accurate with reality & my lap times are super consistent against PC2. I can always be between 3 10ths of a second from lap to lap.
      But… I do miss driving the other classes on pc2.
      Let’s hope Forza Motorsport brings a more immersive level of realism to the next gen console physics & rivals ACC or Assetto Corsa 2?

  • @MrSrimera
    @MrSrimera Před 4 lety +4

    I agree with Nick King, the AI is very inconsistent and dose vary quite a lot track to track and car to car. Seems like on some parts of the track the AI has rocket boosters and other parts their towing a caravan. I did read somewhere in the menu ( think it was the ticker tape thing at the bottom of the screen) that AI at 80 percent and above have the ideal setup for the particular track. I have always thought the AI in the first game was so much better but came in for a lot of stick from a few people. In the first game the AI would always try avoid you if you spun out across the track or you were slow into a corner for any reason. Had some great battles with the AI, They seemed much more aware of your presents, much more human.

    • @jaysysumakaRatMaster3
      @jaysysumakaRatMaster3  Před 4 lety

      MrSrimera in all fairness I don’t even think the AI have anything other than the default setup. Their literally given more or less power than the normal car and drive the same lines round the circuit no matter how powerful they are.
      I don’t think the AI contends with the same physics laws which determine how the car handles for the human driver.
      As for them being more human, I really didn’t have an issue with them acting any more unusual to how humans act in online lobbies.
      Supposedly they will become more aggressive with you if you annoy them? I didn’t really spend to long trying to annoy any of them but I’ll be keen to see if I can race them just as competitively on other circuits in other cars with the same 105% skill and 100 aggression.
      I still think I need to up the skill to about 108.

  • @GhostSportsES

    Honestly... everytime I turn Aggression up they just slam into my like its a demolition derby lol....

  • @jamesbolho
    @jamesbolho Před 4 lety +4

    I find the AI very inconsistent as most people but it's worse when it comes to aggressiveness, in my experience, if I set the aggressiveness above 30 or 35, the AI transforms into some kind of Forza online player. They will shamelessly ram me off the track, do pit manoeuvers, brake checks, I can't finish the race half of the time... I know that 30 or 35 is a really low setting but it's just my experience. I'm playing on XBox so I don't know if the PC version got some further patches that the console version did not get.

    I'm on PS4 and the AI is nowhere near as is shown here. Very erratic to say the least and not consistent with the car in front. Just today I've tried experimenting, I qualify fastest, then, in the race, the second placed driver seems to have twice the power and traction clocking 5 seconds per lap faster. Even on 40 - 45 difficulty the first two cars seem to be at the pro timing pace if I start around the middle of the grid, if on the other hand I start at the front and manage to be in front, then I am faster by a couple of seconds per lap. I just can't figure it out.

    I don’t know if they’ve changed this or if it’s the same in PS4. But in AI level 30 I get some tracks where I’m between 1 to 3 seconds ahead in qualifying. In the race I do beat them for 7-15 seconds. Or if I spin, they won’t catch me. But that’s where I’m comfortable racing, it’s like Gran Turismo difficulty. At 50, I’m like 1-3 seconds behind them at qualifying. So, Im either very slow, or it doesn’t work like that in my end. This is all in career mode by the way. Depending on the class and car, I’m between 23-30 level.

    • @jaysysumakaRatMaster3
      @jaysysumakaRatMaster3  Před 2 lety +1

      It doesn’t really matter what level you choose to set the AI. All you need to do is set the AI so it’s challenging, who cares if you lose a few races to the AI.
      When you start, or if you start racing online, you’ll be much better equipped to race better drivers that aren’t just going to move over, or that aren’t challenging.
      Thanks for the comment bro… I’m kinda interested in returning back to PC2 on the series X to see if it’s any better… but.
