Rachael Ades I think that it was also partially because the lawyers made it seem like she didn't want the baby (after being pregnant for a while) but she realized that she loves the baby. I'm not trying to sound mean I just think that's part of the reason.

True, I felt the same. But at least he had some real trauma and amnesia as an excuse. I was much more pissed off by Rafael during the last season. Throughout the whole show he keeps pushing Jane away for the dumbest reasons but then gets all jealous and upset and "I cAn'T tRuSt yOu aNymOre" because she actually needs some time to process that her freaking husband came back from the dead??
nah, after he got his memory back, he was Micheal because as always he just wanted Jane to be happy. The writers can try to make Rafael and Jane be endgame, but he'll never compare to the coolest white dude: Micheal Cordero

The reason it's such a good show is because it's structured like a telenovela in English, so it's meant to be overdramatic and slightly confusing. It also helps that all the characters were really well made, except for maybe Rose who's character is just "psychopath." I also really like how they made it look like Petra was the main villain at the beginning, just to show that Rose is the real villain later as Petra starts becoming a better person and realizing what a crappy person her mom is.
They even made a comparison in s1 between Petra and their inner telenovela character who is a psychopath, but later it turned out that it was Rose all along

Petra I think was the best character out of everyone in the show. At first, she’s made out to be a villain, but a very complex one at that. She has sympathetic motivations in the beginning because she’s been through so much in her life and just needs to survive. Because before Rafael, all she’s known is to survive. But when Rafael is done with her, she lashes out and turns back to survival mode.
And she changes throughout the show and definitely has had the most character development out of anyone. By the end, she’s a much better person who really just needed help and better people.
So much happens in this show it’s so hard to explain. Props to Alex

Even my mail I'd asked me to watch it again and I won't lie I watched Jane the virgin 3 times in a year and 2 times in 4 months. It feels like I'm Jane and it's my family.
