why does this movie act like schools like Harvard is literally no big deal, as if it’s not a whole Ivy League school
It has a less than 5% acceptance rate. They make you write admission essays explaining all your extracurricular activities and accomplishments, which these characters have none of. They never do school work and all they do is hang out with each other and fuck.
It makes it funnier when Elle writes her essay about heartbreak
a lot of movies kinda do that. sorta downplay how hard getting into those schools are. and i can't help but think it's just so kids will waste their money applying to them. because apparently in america you gotta pay a lot just to apply to a school you might not even get accepted into
Ray Vun It’s the same in Canada too. I applied to three colleges and had to pay for all of the them. I think it was $90 per application. I got into all three of them but obviously only went to one lol and you don’t get money back if you don’t accept.

Gosh Elle’s toxic and manipulative personality goes so unnoticed in this movie. People give Noah crap and, while he definitely acts sus, there’s also plenty of reasons showing that he’s not cheating. And then Elle takes this suspicion as a justification to chest on Noah and kiss Marco.
There’s literally no good guy in here, they’re all manipulative. Marco is the best character but even then, he’s boring and shouldn’t have kissed Elle either knowing she had a boyfriend.
I still can't get past the fact that she isn't looking at programs, academics etc to see which college would be best for HER and what SHE wants to do. Her decision on college is being based off of two guys that have way too much control over her life.

The fact that Marco made Elle fall for him without saying anything bad about Noah, just spending time with her & that she kissed him back AND SHE STILL CHOOSE NOAH, LIKE WHAT
Noah had character development, but Marco was just already a good person. If Noah hit Elle, I wouldn't be surprised, but Marco would never. Marco doesn't have any emotional baggage or any anger issues. Elle fell for Marco without banging him like she did with Noah.

Take Elle. What makes Elle so special? Nothing. She hasn't got any real personality but amazing things just happen to her. Men trip over their feet for her. She's not particularly beautiful or smart. She's a tool for teenage girls to project themselves onto so they can live vicariously through her.
Like the movie is horrible. So unlikable. She gets no consequences.

5:23 when I watched the movie, I thought that a perfectly missed opportunity was to have Marco be rather *upset* about it. Imagine if he called her out like "if it was me commenting on videos about you with barely any clothes, things would be drastically different".
So lemme sum it up for yall:
Marco: he just doin his thing
Rachel: wants to actually date her boyfriend
Noah: told a lie so his girlfriend doesn't worry about him and his girl friend cheating but it all came to bite him in the ass, watched a live make out session between his girlfriend and her "friend", otherwise pretty nice dude for the entire movie

When his "friends" were debating about something he had nothing, NOTHING to say. I get why they did that... his character portrays the "cool" kid, but that just raises the question on how he got into Harvard....
