Thanks for the breakdown of each laser/engraver. We recently purchased the S1 with the 40W and we are new to the laser world! We are learning a lot! One of the things we learned is that we cannot use the 40W to engrave certain metals and the limitations with the acrylic. My question is, will the 2W work to fill in the blank spaces on the S1 where the 40W will not work? Can you share the capabilities and show the work of a 2W on the S1? Thank you! Cindy
Thanks brother. Super helpful comparison. Thanks for the transparency about your sponsorship also. Appreciate your content as always and “hullo” from Port Orchard mate 👋
Once again, another honest review and informative video where you share your personal experiences using the tools you're excited talk about! Always a treat to watch and learn!! Great job neighbor!
I would really like to have the S1 xtool, the only reason I don't is the price. I am a disabled veteran, and try in increase my revenue with woodworking. I know that I could make income with the S1. I can make payments on the xtool, but cant pay the whole price at one time. If you know anyway the xtool can help me with financing please let me know. I love all your videos, especially ones where you sell your stuff. thank you. I am a retired nurse also.
This may be a dumb question, but what are the main differences between a CO2 and diode cutter? If I am not going to be engraving in metal and really only engraving in wood does it matter? I have a cnc machine that I use to cut out thicker pieces of wood so I envision a laser cutter for me would be more like adding engraving or cutting out thin ornaments and key chain type projects.
Love your videos, would like info on where you get file for your sports logos. I am also a Seahawk Mariner Kracken fan from Yakima very new to laser community any help is appreciated
Another quick question for the user community, can the S1 40W cut clear and semi transparent acrylic if you spray a coating on it or cover it with something like painters tape (either on the top of the bottom)?
Great job very helpful information thanks just moved back to Oregon and getting back into the craft shows in fact doing one this weekend and next weekend
Hi...did you test engraving golf balls + golf tees with the xTools you have? Are the xTools able to engrave multiple objects (on a jig) in one go? For example for the pen´s you´ve showed in the video. I do not need high troughput...but I need to to engrave multiple objects (on a jig) in one go for saving time and convenience. Regards
xtool has a adeal for combined P2 and F1.. trying to understand if its worth getting f1 as well for engraving since p2 handles most of the volume. Still not clear on the value f1 adds ? definelty looking for reason to purchase and to understand.
Great question. The P2 is amazing. Can cut all the types of acrylic and thicker wood without limitations. Like you mentioned, it handles the volume. However the F1 is super convenient and fast. While it can cut, it really shines in its ability to engrave almost any material. Because it has both diode and infrared it can engrave more items. Because of its design and smaller footprint, it’s so much faster to engrave items as well. I often cut items on the P2 and then engrave them on the F1. It’s also convenient for multi tasking having both machines. The F1 is also portable. I bring it in the house a bunch and run it with the purifier without any issues while watching TV. It can also travel to craft shows and more. This video shows how convenient the F1 is for engraving: czcams.com/video/btmFHSodkMI/video.htmlsi=H0Nm8dIa000YElEA Hope that helps!
I very much appreciate your amazing content. As a church pastor I also appreciate the idea of a bit of a "woodworking ministry" (aka Holy Side Hustle, lol). I am really struggling with the decision between a P2 and the new S1. I would love to be able to cut wood, glass and a full range of acrylics, but am concerned that the P2 does not do detailed engraving the same way that the S1 does. I don't mind digging into money I have saved, but am interested in making the wisest investment possible to give me the greatest flexibility. Do you have any thoughts about the P2 v S1 debate specifically in terms of level of etching/engraving detail? (by the way, your projects are absolutely incredible). Your additional thoughts are greatly appreciated. Grace & Peace

What makes you like xtool over say omtech?
I’m itching to get one or the other and am not such which to get
Great Video, I have been thinking of buying a co2 Laser, been praying about what one to get, your video is a great help! thanks so much. God Bless!

Just a note on the prices listed in the description: The P1 _starts_ at $4999, not $2999.
Absolutely. That was just the coupon code that kicked in at 2999 that would apply for a P2 purchase. Sorry it was unclear!
thanks for the grate video, is it possible to engrave on uneven material, for example bark?
Another quick question for the user community, can the S1 40W cut clear and semi transparent acrylic if you spray a coating on it or cover it with something like painters tape (either on the top of the bottom)?
No. I have never seen an actual way to cut clear acrylic with a diode laser. You need a co2
Great job very helpful information thanks just moved back to Oregon and getting back into the craft shows in fact doing one this weekend and next weekend
Awesome! Good luck!

Is there a good place to get the wood products you are using the laser on?

Does P2 engrave on stainless steel?
Super helpful video, thank you!
Love you Nick
Will the S1 cut 1/4" thick pine wood?
They say the 40 watt will
I powered up my S1 for the first time today!
